  1. I'd also look for a vac-uform. More in scale thickness wise.
  2. SWEEEEEET! I hope you find a good replacement for yout printer. I like your work and hope to get some of your decals sometime. Mike
  3. I acquired a box of Lakester parts and like you have never gotten to the point of thinking I was up to the challenge. I look forward to your efforts. Maybe it will inspire me to look into that box and see the possibilities and not the challenges.
  4. I'm not thrilled but it does give me a reason to go to Wally world. Currently my options are Michaels, which is limited, a failing hobby shop and an RC shop. The only option is half an hour away. I hope this is the start of a trend but I doubt it.
  5. I'm really disappointed for the Nationwide series. The Challenger looks so perfect. I'm not a fan of the COT but the current Nationwide cars are quite enjoyable and I can look at them an actually identify what car they are. Mike
  6. A bit of a bump please...... Anyone got chassis photos of the 1976 Blue Max chassis. I'm trying to do a good replication but need any and all chassis shots. I do have the feature from the March Car Craft magazine. Thanks!
  7. I'll bite......I'll trade you my mini van for your Audi R8. Mine's paid for. I expect the same. Think I'll have any takers?
  8. I really want to find one of these for a Pro Stocker. See http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=47341&hl=challenger I've got everything but the Lindberg Challenger. I can't believe I'm looking for a Lindberg kit.....
  9. Yep..... The MPC Mustang didn't have that hood scoop or the removable tailgate.
  10. A V8 Vega at least gives you a motor. Mine rusted so badly and burned oil so bad (a quart per fill up) that when it caught on fire, I didn't bother trying to save it. The bikes on the roof I saved. The car, why bother. Oh yeah......I had less than 50 thousand miles on it.
  11. I remember Chad Little in the 19 with the same livery. I always found it easy to spot and cheer on. You might get me inspired to pull out one of the T-birds I've got statched and try to finish this.
  12. I wonder how many started to rust in the containers? I had a Vega, absolutely worst piece of junk I ever owned. This from someone who onwed MGs, VW Rabbits and a Ford Escort. I envied Pinto owners.
  13. I think that a quality glue kit would be a great addition. The AMT COT is not a fair comparision. I lacks enough detail that at best it is a good foundation to kitbash with ......a Revell/Monogram stock car. Instead of forcing the modeler to undo and redo wouldn't it be nice to have the quality in one kit? Imagine using the same skill that Revell showed in their midget kits making a modern race car. Would I like drag racing instead.....maybe, but, look at the TV ratings and the fans in the stands. NASCAR is king. It just makes better business sense to tool up what has the greatest market potential. There are more average fans who might be tempted to buy a NASCAR kit than a drag. Do it right, make it a scale replica instead of an unassemblied toy and it might be a good seller. If they do, hopefully Revell won't oversaturate the market like Monogram did previously.
  14. Any loss of a parent or a child is tragic. A loss of this type is just so wrong. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family.
  15. That caprured the 60's style bike in so many ways. I'd love to see this one re-issued. Change the forks and loose the skull and this is a great true chopper.
  16. Got to give me credit for trying.......
  17. Wait a minute.......I was right. What's my prize?
  18. Either Tommy Ivo Showboat or Tony Nancy Double kit. The Prudhomme Snake funny car can't be far behind.
  19. Very tough builds. I've seen some builds that were great. I attempted the Showboat twenty years ago and found the engine to be beyond my abilities due to SEVERE fit issues. Some day I'll attempt it again. Some day I'll also win the lottery......
  20. Let me give a tip of the hat to Casey. I went through several "life issues" while trying to complete a trade. PM me if you're considering a trade with outragis, aka Eric Ragis.
  21. Very nice detail painting. This is a kit I'll need to look out for. Looks fun.
  22. You really need to do an article for Gregg on your woodgraining technique. That looks dead on.... Great looking project. Mike
  23. I do miss Ernie and several drivers from that era. I wonder if he had not been injured how his career would have turned out. Those are some great builds.
  24. Thanks for the long post. I would much rather have a real build review than some magazine reviewers (consider the few negatives expressed in another model magazine) who rarely find much negative to say about most kits. I'm now on a lookout for the Revell kit. It sounds like a great kit to share with me son and hopefully get him started building. Mike
  25. I thank the Happy Days series was the last reissue of the Revell Parts Packs motorcycles. They're hard to find and worth their weight in expensive metal. Mike
