  1. This is coming together like a fine art masterpiece of speed and precision engineering. Every li'l explanation is like a tutorial and I'm learning a ton! Keep up the outstanding work! Can't wait to see this come to life at the end.
  2. Romell your lady has a great eye for photography! Stunning pictures and the stripes from the kit are perfect for this build! Great work and great save! *tips hat and both of ya for a job well done* PERFECT TEAM!
  3. Absolutely stunning work! Maybe when I grow up I can be like you. Keep up the awesome attention to details! It's the li'l things that make a model "POP!"
  4. I have to give credit where credit is due! This truck is TRULY spectacular! I love the lines, the flawless execution of the mods, and the blending of parts! You have top shelf winner on your hands here! I can't wait to see more of your work.
  5. I left as you were going onto Page 3 and I come back and you are up to Page 20!! I have to say reading each update and seeing the pictures of this build coming to life is phenomanol (sp)!!!! Your skills are past mastered and your explanations of how you do things makes it a great learning experience for those of us who don't know or have been scared to try something new with this hobby. I tip my hat to you Sir as I've even learned a thing or two from your work that I found a fault in my own. Thank you! Your 1:1 Chevelle is a true diamond in the rough and you will polish it out with no problem. I always love a good project as I've had several over the years. Keep on your bodyman because it sounds like he doesn't have the passion you do for your "baby."
  6. Sorry I'm late chiming in on this build. I've been checkin' in but time bein' limited hasn't left much time for chatter. I really like how this is comin' together!! I can't wait to see more of this build. After seein' so many people build 32's it's inspired me to try my hand at them. 3 started, but stopped due to upcoming move. Keep up the great work I can't wait ot see what's next! You'll get the fiddly bits figured out.
  7. Most interesting. You sure pulled off the front suspension flawlessly. The rear hopefully will sit a tad lower than it's current stance? Awesome craftsmanship my friend! Your 1:1 is going to be exceptionally sweet jus' watchin' you work on this 1:24/25th scale version of it. Keep us informed, I'm watchin' greatly on both pages.
  8. I think you pull the Mohair interior off perfect. Looks jus' like my 1957 Bel Air and the 1954 Bel Air Custom Deluxe 4dr I learned to drive in. Keep up the great work. You are doin' this perfectly! I can't wait to see whatcha do with the engine. It's gonna be sweet, I can tell.
  9. This truck is absolutely stunning. I've seen it several years going around the web on other sites. I can say it's a work of art especially the working LED's. I have to say I'm in complete awe of your skill and patience for this kind of work. Keep on buildin' man. You are awesome!
  10. Here's gonna be my next trick. Making my own skirts to conform to the rear of the car. Kinda going for a "Show Car" from the 50's. Kinda Krazy, Kool, and Kreative! I've also "tucked" the front pan for clearance with the ground. Front Pan Before Tuck: Front Pan After Tuck: You can also see where I started to round or conform the fenders to the front area. Now here's where it's gonna get tricky. I'm doing a "Panel Pan" for the taillights and will also include a "Tube" grill like the front will get. This is the start of the skirts and rear treatment: Enjoy!
  11. Lookin' good! Great attention to detail! It's always exciting to see someone build something from scratch like this. Keep them updates a comin'!!
  12. Taking a small breather before I close up the doors and go from there. I didn't like the "B" Pillar on the driver side so I'm redoing it and frames. Had a bit of an accident with the Passenger "B" Pillar trying to narrow it down a tad. It's long gone and Lord only knows where it went. So back to the drawing and jus' try and get it to look right. Think it'll be a better path at this point. Thanx for the compliments, inspirations, etc. Yeah No Toothpaste on this one!! LOL
  13. Ah! Explains everything. LoL Should dull out fine. Great work!
  14. Looks convincing to me. Jus' a thought. Take some worn out 2000 grit paper and do not press jus' brush over the roof a tad. I see some shine here and there, unless that's camera glare. Great work so far! I like it!!
  15. The only thing I can say about the Toothpaste Bondo trick was it held together only because there was layers of Red Oxide and Black Primer over it along with some Cheap-O Silver Paint. Once it hit the water bath I noticed the body started to disform and once in the deep freezer it jus' came apart like a dry snowball. Funnier yet it was still "Minty" to the smell. It might work on small wall holes to get your deposit back but not on a model car! LmAo Trus' me I didn't do it! It was already done before I got it.
  16. ........Continued from Previous Post. So we got Humpty Dumpty Back together again. We hacked out the botched arches and installed 57 Ford Arches to give the tires ample room to move. Playin' with a few ideas: 57 Chrysler 300 Front Bumper for the rear? NAH! Too Bulky! So let's look at the front and go from there!!? Ok, "Cant Eyed" headlights will do the trick and with that note lets do a custom roll pan in the rear for the taillights. Sounds like a plan. Here's where we are now! Marked and cut for Execution: And Humpty's Nose Job is complete! Once solid we'll tuck the front pan a li'l bit more for ground clearance sake and start on the rear end. Enjoy!!
  17. Ok, I needed to start something to vent my frustration with my li'l "Accident" with my JWAC build. So I dug around in the bottom of my box and pulled out this project. I wanted to get a direction of where I was headed before I posted it in too many places. Now that the direction has been established let's get started shall we? Ok, Straight from the "Junk Yard" it looked pretty odd. Thought possibly a botched Desoto or possible Ford Promo, then figured out it was a 1949/50 Mercury by the roof and front end. After a bath in the sink and a quick 48 hours in the deep freezer, it came out lookin' rather stranger than before. Culprit? Toothpaste! YES!, Somebody used Toothpaste as Bondo and it was flakier than Testors Putty (pun intended). After pulling everything apart and I mean EVERYTHING. I found out it was sectioned and cut up pretty bad. Thought about trashing it and starting over. Then it hit me. It's plastic and plastic can be brought back to life! So this Greaser at Heart's light bulb popped and it was set into motion. Bought at a yard sale for .50 cents in three rather large boxes of parts, what nots, and what have yous. This is what I started with: The Name Humpty Dumpty came about as I was tryin' to "Put Together Again" this poor car. This is where we are now: Putting the Sections back together after a "Section" Job. Next Post.......
  18. Lookin' sweet! I got one of these that is a sideline project for when I can't think and need a jump start! Great start so far! Keep us posted! I luvs it!
  19. HOLY SMOKES! That Pro Mod Engine I thought was real for a second! Steve that Willys is comin' along beautifully like a well executed symphony! I'm lovin' each update as it's getting better and better! Can't wait to see more! You are doin' awesome even with an ailment! Keep at it, your doin' awesome!
  20. Thanx for the advice but I tried the 64/65 Chassis and I would have gone through more headaches tryin' to alter the wheelbase and suspension to get it to sit as low as I want. Plus the frame on "this" truck I'm working on is slightly shorter than a LWB Reg Cab Cheyenne. SO, I figure who's gonna see the bottom anyways. Oh don't get me wrong I'm gonna fix it for strength but not go "Super Overboard" with it. Ok, Here's a tiny Update! This is what I did last night jus' tinkering with some scrap wire and sprue. I got the rear door hinged but it doesn't open the full width due to the front door and "B" Pillar. It's jus' enough to show the interior like I want. Enough said. Here's Pics! Till next time. Enjoy!
  21. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TREEHUGGER DAVE!! Hope you have a great one!!
  22. I second a Thank You for the links!! I was lookin' around on the net as well for other places and also found this one. They are Pro Tech Model and Railroad Parts. http://protechmodelparts.com/ Pretty cool places. Thanx again!
  23. If this was going to be a "Hearse" I'd say leave the skirts. But being an Ambulance I'd say leave them off. Something else to fly off in a sure fire hurry to get to the Horsepistol.... err Hospital. Luvs the colours! Keep the updates comin'! I surely can't wait to see more. If you do another one, please do it as a hearse and then use the skirts to "jazz" it up and make it look more luxury for those going to their final resting place.
  24. This is going to look fantastic when done! The extra attention to details looks killer! I really like it. Keep them updates comin'!
  25. Hmm, looks like you got yourself in a bit of a pickle with this one. Jus' short of "reconstucting" everything from scratch jus' to make it "movable" and positionable I really don't have any advice. Knowing from seeing these cars (15CV's and 2CV's) in person in Italy and France they are a rather complex FWD System. The Rear Suspension on 2CV's is suppose to "ratchet" or swing independently of each other as most Independent Front and Rear Suspensions do w/ Upper and Lower A-Arms. The 15CV's look to be like the VW Rabbit/Golf, Jetta, Scirroco, and some Audi style rear set ups. Shortening the Shocks might help there. Sorry I can't be of any better help. I can't wait to see how you figure this dilemma out and see how you build this wonderful car.
