  1. It's BACK!!!! After a pretty long hiatus this one's back on the bench. Installed the computers and wiring and shifter buttons. I also made a new switch box because I was out of kit pieces. Notice the laptop on the floor. It's hiding a nasty glue mark. Still need to detail and install the batteries. I still need to install the upper seatbelts and then I can install the body for good. Lots more to do but it's coming along. Thanks for looking!
  2. Small update but I got the floor smoothed and carpeted. Looks pretty cool I think!

  12. Beautiful build!!!!!
  13. Got some more work done on this one. I started on the engine. I swapped out the valve covers for ones that say "MOROSO" on them. They are for a big block but I think they look cool. I also got the frame painted and started hanging the suspension: I swapped out the diff cover for one from an AMT '70 Superbee because it was chromed. I'm also going to use the wheels from the Revell '41 Willys. I like the slotted mags better. Thanks for looking!
  14. GORGEOUS!!!!

  18. That looks awesome! Nice job!
  19. You're right it's an AMT body. It came in a 3 pack with a '75 and '98 'Vette. All molded in red. The red plastic is incredibly soft. I started opened up the trunk and the blade kept jumping out of the grooves because the plastic is so soft. I had to go slow and take my time. I am going to use a trunk lid off a Revell '58 Vette just because I like those chrome strips. Here's where I'm at. Thanks for looking!!
  20. Sometimes you gotta admit defeat and start over. That flip nose body is awful. I got lucky today. While looking for something else I found a stock MPC 1957 Corvette in my stash. The floor I modified fit this new body perfectly. I now needed a firewall. A second flip nosed Corvette donated it's firewall. There was a huge gap between the two parts was filled with strip styrene and bondo. Here's where I am at: This is the replacement body: Here the firewall is glued to the floor and strips of styrene are connecting them. I'm thinking this will be a red and white or black and white car. We'll see. Thanks for looking.
  21. Yeah the fit between the body and nose is terrible. I'm just going to go slow and fit them as best as I can. I'm worried about how I'm going to set the hinge up as I'm bashing the chassis and body from two different kits.
  22. That is wicked looking I love it!
  23. That looks awesome Tom!!! Been waiting years to see that one finished and you really nailed the look. It was worth the wait!
  24. I've been wanting to do a 60's style gasser for some time. This is going to be a study in kit bashing. The body is from the MPC flip nose '57 Corvette. I've added the firewall and will mold it in, I've also smoothed it out. I'm using the floor, frame, drive train and suspension from the Revell '62 Corvette gasser. I'll probably use quite a bit from the Revell kit. I modified the floor by removing the inner front fender shields. I also had to contour the rear to fit the '57 body. I'll add some more updates once I get a little more done. Thanks for looking!
