  1. Thanks guys! Cheater slicks? Would that be slicks with minimal tread for street legal use? I am not necessarily looking for them to be on extra wide wheels, just have the pie crust/bias ply look on the slicks and the big whitewalls. Andy, I checked out Modelhaus and they have no pics. Not very helpful when one doesn't know how to decipher their lingo of sizes, etc. Pie crust sounds like what I am wanting, maybe with enough tread to be street legal and the whitewalls.
  2. Are you just saying that to take the attention off of Massachusetts drivers(specifically Boston)?
  3. I am wanting to build a gasser, probably similar to this truck and want to start collecting parts. Can anyone tell where I can get tires like these? http://media.photobucket.com/image/chevy%20stepside%20gasser/Wupperspeed/GMCGasserTruck.jpg
  4. Why does Google translator not detect "Hawaiian"? It doesn't detect any language for that matter when these words are inserted. Please, splain to me.
  5. A search rendered this. http://www.discountmodels.com/m.v._lenses.shtml
  6. How about a "resto-mod"? Allow the umps to continue calling the game, yet have the electronic strikezone for critiquing the umps honesty in their calls and put them on a scoring system giving them points for lapses in judgement. The points would accrue over time leading to demotion and eventually job loss. Doing their job correctly, w/o infraction, would over time, remove points and work them back towards good standing. I'm just sayin'. I am not a big baseball follower. Flyers, Blackhawks, Blah Blah Blah! The Wings will be back next year........maybe,.....I hope so. ThThThey Better Be!
  7. Mark, Good eye! It was built by Joe Bailon. Here is the link I found. http://www.aeclassic.com/joe_bailon_65_impala_ss/
  8. Having all of the Impala talk lately had me on guard and I ran across this. It is an old show car from the early seventies called "Executive". I thought it looked interesting with the body mods. Apparently, it was recently rediscovered and the remains are now for sale.
  9. Heavens ta Betsy, that paint on the Camaro is SWEET!! What did you use, base and top coat? It may be the white(interior bucket) making it stand out like that. Imagine what a nice set of white SS stripes would do for it.
  10. "Wouldn't ya know it, You show up early for a change and everyone else decides to sleep late. Figures!!", Les says to self. Self replies, "I guess being in this(auto quiz) room, We'll have to yell perty loud to get their attention, soooo. With Costello in mind, Les bellows, ""HEEEY!, YOOU GUUYYYS!! I got the lights cut on. No coffee though. Where are ya?!"
  11. Wasn't this car capable of 200+ mph? I think that is the car. It is reminiscent of what comes to my mind when I think about the earlier days of pro touring and what got me interested in it.
  12. Jason, I have that link too. Protech is said to have the best scale braided line available.
  13. Dave, You could tape the cab and hood together so both hands are free. Mark the fender at the center of opening and measure the distance between that line and center of wheel hub. If any difference, adjust cab as needed and remount. BTW, nice job on the BMF.
  14. The H/D edition has a different grille and hood side trim also. I think the 5 hole wheels are strictly H/D but may be wrong on that. The battery boxes and sun visor have H/D logos on them leading me to think they are unique to it as well. Here is a link to a test of the truck. There are quite a few photos also.
  15. Joe, Daniel does not have a web site yet(planned), but you can reach him by email, plaskit_resin@yahoo.ca or he has an Ebay store you can contact him through, http://myworld.ebay.com/plaskitresin/. I believe he is a member here as well.
  16. It is obvious that the Willys will never get finished. Look at the rear tires, no engine yet and it is already going in reverse.
  17. Steve, That gasser is lookin' good! I have had gassers on the mind here lately. Jason, RB Motion is where Steve got his small hardware from. Here is a link to his Ebay page if you want to contact him or keep an eye out for a listing. http://myworld.ebay.com/rbmotion Here is another place to get the small nuts and bolts in brass or stainless steel as well as scale brass rivets. http://www.scalehardware.com/
  18. Dave, I would to thank you for coming in here to hear what we builders are saying. Leo, Dave, This is something I think would be a big hit. Parts packs which include a hood and necessary parts(radiator, brackets, etc.) for conversion to a different model. Also, separate packs with a daycab panel including glazing, different factory exhaust set ups, other sleeper options, alternate wheels and tires(highway, offroad, etc.). Les
  19. I would think some PVC pipe(small diameter),elbows, couplers and a white sheet would work just as good. It would be collapsible, allow light through for the subject, be adjustable for the size of the subject and cost a whole lot less. If you need to transport it, find an old briefcase at a thrift store or one of those fabric shopping bags with handles.
  20. I would!! :P George, you're showing your age.
  21. Gray, Where'd ya go? You don't post pics because you feel they're not worthy? The model in this link wasn't built by a member here, but, look at the positive remarks it got. Posting your pics won't just get positive criticism or helpful advice for issues you are having with something, but may also give someone else inspiration or an idea he never thought of. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=29419
