A quick little mock-up for yea. Use your imagination to put it all together! I'll be painting these white peices TS-30 Silver Leaf over black-primer.
-
I might just give'em away! Won't know till I'm almost done with the kit though.
-
I like the newest Batmobile myselfe. That thing is the coolest movie vehicle ever! "Does this come in black?"

The blemesh is an easy fix, just wet-sand it down and give her another spray. Will also have to repair the bottom skirts for same reason. But since they were painted this morning, she's still gotta wait till tomarrow before I can repair. Mean while, I'm working ahead on the chassis and interior. Hopefully this one will be the most beautiful of king's!

The Porsche sure is a no-brains assembling, but sure is full'oh brains painting! This Smonda is going to take alot of thinking, and scratch-building and head-scratching and hair-pulling, and fingers-crossing, and mouth a swearing, et'c, et'c, et'c. Fortunetly, Dad should be home tomarrow so hopefully I won't have to deal with his 2 year old puppy for a while and I'll have even more concentration on this project! Another incentive for me on this one, is my local Hobby Town, eh, the good one, is having a model contest in October and I'd like to enter this one as well as my Koenig's!

Thank you diymirage, I'm going to wait till the 911 is finished before continueing with this project. It'll be alot of firsts for me and I'd like to have my total concentration on it.

Oh yea, there are also several down-pipes and exaust system peices I still need to paint as well!
-
I'm also curious as to how to bend it properly. This is a good reason not to rest it on the cardboard for painting! While I was letting the insides dry, this had happened! See the blemesh on the roof right where the reflection is? Now I'm going to have to sand that down and give her another coat! Darn these ladies, always wanting more coats! Got the chassis painted up. I was looking at somebody elses build of a Porsche 935 and noticed how his tranny was all black along with the engine. So I figured this one the same. Painted the brakes silver, and the calipers red. This part now has three colors going on, gun-metal, silver, and red. I guess you call this the suspension holder. They wanted these tip's to be body-color. So, I painted'em red. I forgot to paint some suspension parts and the rear brakes so those are in the process of drying right now. When those are done painted, I can assmeble the rest of the chassis.

Thank you for that last picture. As I am building the KS Porsche 911, with very similar engine, I was wondering what color to paint the tranny, after seeing yours, I now know what to do. Thank you!

I'm only going to answer with these two pictures.

Scratch-building frame work/roll cages?
FujimiLover replied to FujimiLover's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I picked up some very thin plastic-covered wire's from Styrene and I according to my receipte here, the size is 1/16x15 round tubing. I'm not sure if those dimensions make any sence, but it look's like it's the right thickness for this scale. -
Well, good thing I tried that faux paint on spare parts. After shaking the can vigerously, it still sprayed out too thick, and created a blob on the cardboard and made the spare seats ugly. I think either this stuff doesn't work, or I got a bad can. I'm going to leave the interior alone as I've already painted it nicely!

Got some supplies and a doner-kit for this project! I picked up two sheets of SMS CF plain weave, two tiny plastic rods for building the frame, some micro sol and micro setdecal solution's, leafe-silver paint, and a super fine paint brush. Now that I have all the stuff needed, wish me luck!

I went to the LHS Hobby Town today, the GOOD one, and picked up Scale Motor Sport's Faux Fabrix textured spray paint. They had it in both flat-black and flat-red. I'm going to try the red on the other set of seats that came with this model. If I like the results, I'll respray the interior with it except for the dashboard to give the dashboard a different look. Well, that and I already painted in the dashboards details. Next I'll need to paint the end peices silver. seperation between the boot and the knob, not an easy spot to do! Spokes on the steering wheel.

The show refered to Mad Max, but I see more resemblance to Death Race and that video game, what is it, Heavy Metal? The guy's are secured in bunkers with a big wide screen in front of theme, and one guy is the driver, and the second guy is the gunner. The two are at a game-councel driving their vehicles via remote-control. The cars are real full scale junkers that they have heavily armed. Armore-plating, weapons, saw-blades, rocket launchers et'c. One team tries to protect their "oil-rig", while the other team tries to destroy it. After first team succeeds, the winer gets control of a very powerful machine gun that they can use to knock out their apponent. Then it's a race to the other two oil-rigs and then the finish line while trying to shut down the other. It was kind of boring watching theme sit in their bunkers driving a simiulater-like thing. I thought it would be more fun if they were actually in the cars and they used safer-methods. But, I guess they were thinking, "saftey" and more realistic explosions, so they did it all via remote.

Yes, I do use the tiny "clippers" now to remove the parts off the sprue. But I'm talking about once you'v done that and you trim the parts clean. That is where the danger starts. I wonder if one of those rubber thumb covers that people use to protect their thumbs from paper-cuts will work? Seems like it'll be more comfortable and easier to work with than a thimble.
-
Yea it does come to think of it! That's only cause the rest of the panels aren't on there yet. Just wait till this "roll cage" is finished!
-
If it's upside down, wouldn't the paint drip OFF the car?
-
I would like to start a thread showcaseing EVERYBODIES Koenig Specials models. Any Koenig Special car you built can be show-cased.

?????????????

I'm thinking of a roll cage, but not sure how to go about it yet. I've already showen you pic's of the sport seats in there. I would like to find an aftermarket sport steering wheel similar to what's in my Competition model. No, it's not the snorkel. It's the KS 911 and this project.

They need to bring Mel Gibson on a team as a guest-member. After all, he was the original Mad Max! Wish cable would show the rest of the Mad Max series. They keep showing Beyond Thunderdome every freaking week and sorry to say, it's the most boring one!

WOW! What scale is that? Congrat's!
