  1. Thank's guy's. I just filled in the gaps with putty and waiting for the putty to dry. Probably will start again tomarrow morning. It may look odd now with a green T, but it'll sand up and smooth nicely!
  2. Yes, your question is ahead of it's time. I just started filling in the gaps and seems and will be doing alot of sanding this weekend. We in Colorado Springs are snow-bound due to blizzard conditions so I'll have lot's of free time to work hard on this model. I'll definetly be learning alot of patients with this one as I want it as perfect as humanly possible. I'm going to try and make the paint as close to the silver that's in the box photo as I can, and I plan on taking my time with the paint as well by preping, and polishing. I really want the silver to be shiny and glistening in the light like a show car. Something this awesome can't be done half-azzed. The bottom peice has been cut in half as well, but will be added as soon as I'm satisfied with the bumper.
  3. Thank you for that info. The MR2's body was same color as body kit add-ons so that's why I assumed full resin. Anyway, I've already successfully cut off the factory front bumper and am now in the process of putting the front bumper on. Please have a look at my thread Fujimi Veilsides CI Model in workbench thread. Later tonight or tomarrow morning I'll start filling in the gaps and be doing alot of filler, sanding, et'c.
  4. Turns out I had to cut and widen the front as well. So, here's the progress so far. After the initial cut, I used these handy files to perfect the edges. As you can see, I cut the bumper in half. Epoxied one half to the car, second half Now this part, this is the bottom lip, or splitter. Probably tomarrow I'll start filling in the gap's. Look's like alot of putty, filler, sanding, and possibly re-engraving the panel lines. It's very hard to get it perfect, so as close as you can, and make new lines. Let me know what you think so far! I hope I dont' have to do this to the rear!
  5. Well, some success today. Front bumper off, now I just need to work on sanding this smooth and perfect. Handy cutting tool, this is my Dad's dremel tool which I prefer over mine. Mine feels bulky and hard to control. This one is nice and light, and very easy to manuver. Notice the same cutting dremel bit? Once the front end is perfected, I'll work on the rest of the car.
  6. Just sent payments in for the 1/24 KS Testarossa, the Testarossa Spyder, and Lamborghini Countach. Plus, I just picked this up at HWJapan for less than 20 plus EMS delivery. They had one left in stock, but my only concerne was that was last updated on 2008/16/01. So hopefully they still have it and it'll be mine. They will inform me if it's available before sending payment. Gonna cancell this one as I just found it on ebay along with the Diablo from same seller.
  7. Fujimi was really nice to us with this kit as they made all body parts overlap. Only thing is, on the very corner of the bumpers where it meats the headlights/tailights, you'll want to use putty to fill it in to make it smooth. Also, a note on the sideskirts, you'll want to putty the bottom half of the door below the protectors as the real Mugen is completely smooth there. No cutting required here. Be carefull when searching, there are some CRX kit's marked as Mugen, but the ones we're seeing on ebay these days have NOT been the Pro.2. What you want to look for, is the Pro.2, don't rely specifically on Mugen. Pro.2 is what you want to look for. Another rare kit is Tamyia's 86-87 Mugen CRX, there's would be Pro.1 I guess but not marked as such. I desperatly want this Mugen Pro.2. That, and a few more KS models. . But if I had the choice, Mugen Pro.2 would be first!
  8. That PRO.2 is one rare, rare kit. I doubt we'll find one anytime soon. I'm working very slowly on the MR2 as this is my first time at a kit like this. I've never cut off a bumper before and very nervous!
  9. I still see a few of these on ebay, just not the one I'm after.
  10. Don't you need two more of those?
  11. LOL! I Wonder if your the guy that purchased my 962 Mini-Z body on ebay. I started that very project a while back converting Kyosho's 1/28 scale Mini-Z 962 body into the KS C62. I had a friend of mine from another forum make some custom decals for me to bring the C62 to life. Wondering if it was you LDO?
  12. Thank's for the tips. I've already started building the MR2 and first step is to cut off the stock bumpers. It looks to me like these bumpers will fit perfectly. All though I wont' really know till I actually try to fit'em. So let's hope I got lucky with this kit. The color plastic on these two kits I got seem to be a flesh-color?
  13. Thank's for the tips. I think my Dad said he had that same dremel-bit for the dremel tool and he actually recommended to cut near the line required and then sand up to the line. Tomarrow I'll ask him about that bit as I dont' want to spend day's with the knife.
  14. Nice work! Now thank's to Kyosho's hot new RC car called the Dnano, you can drive one of those! They just released the Ferrari F-40 in their Dnano 1/43 series. Very awesome micro RC car with ton's of performance.
  15. Have not seen one. But does not look to hard to modify regular 934-935 to look like it.
  16. Actually, Koenig never did a Nissan. Notice it says Koenig "STYLE"? It just means that the body kit on that resembles that of KS-style of aerodynamics. If was actually a KS brand model, it would no doubt have their logo on it. Not sure I like it or not.
  17. Thank's, not only the dust issue, but in hopes to keeping the tires nice. I'm not sure if it's the dry climate, or the dust particles that eat the rubber and begins to crack'em. I guess you could say their dry-rotted? So yea, I am looking for a dust-proof display case. I didnt' think about the heat from the lights, so that might NOT be a good idea. As for stand alone versus wall mount, I'd prefer wall mount for saving space and to have the models more at eye level. This summer I'm moving from my old room to the larger guest room which now has an extra window which will be cooler in the summer time. We'll see what I need by then and how much room I've got. I already have a descent stand-alone shelfe, but it's made for DVD collection and has no dust-covers. I've displayed several of my die-cast 1/43's on their and my Transformers collection, they do get dusty.
  18. Fujimi has done a really super job with this CRX. I've built several of theme and in fact hunting for their rarest kit which is the Mugen PRO.2 which has optional bumpers and rear wing. This is a simple kit to put together, but if your painting skills are of good quality, it's an excellent kit and alot of fun. Where did those wheels come from?
  19. Hello. I just started work on my Fujimi Veilside MR2 model which is entirely resin kit. What's the best way for removing body panels? I have to remove the front and rear bumpers, and side skirts in order to install the aftermarket Veilside body kit. I have a very nice sharp exacto hobby-grade knife, but worried it'll skip and gouge wanted areas. Should I invest in a panel-scriber and will that work just as well on resin as plastic? Actually, isn't resin in itselfe softer than plastic? I've done a few small cut-out's on regular plastic models like when I did the headlights for my RX7, but never a full bumper. And some areas of the bumper look complex too!
  20. There are a dozen or so cars on my wish list including one of these done up like that black/white one with the carbon hood. Only thing is I wouldn't want the tofu sticker on the door.
  21. LOL! Sounds cool, I dont' know if I can do multiple projects at once. I might accidently put an MR2 bumper on a Ford pick-up or something weired like that confusing the two! Looking forward to picks. I too will be starting my MR2 resin kit this week.
  22. Hello. Well, that was increadably fast shipping! My ebay seller shipped from Tawain Sunday/Monday and I just received it this morning. Here is the box, exciting isn't it? Here is the body, nicely done with body kit panels layed out. This is not a simple overlay bodykit. You are required to do some cutting off the original bumpers in order to install the new ones. Hmmmmmmmmm............................ As you can tell, it looks like from the coloring, the entire kit is resin? This will be a new experience for me and I hope I do this one well. I've never had to cut off a bumper like this before so this could very well wind up in the trash! LOL! Let's hope not................................
  23. Post man delivered my two Veilside kit's today! Wow! Shipped from Tawian Sunday and got'em this morning! Lightening fast! Both kit's look good so far, will report "On the workbench"!
  24. Please post pics, would like to see results weather good or bad. Thank's!
  25. I dont' have the measurements yet, but this is the space where I plan on putting the shelves. I've got these ones for now, but they dont' hold much unless stackable, and they dont' protect. Plus, my cat likes to walk across theme. She think's it's a CAT-WALK! LOL! Would like something that can hold anywhere between 50-100 1/24 scale cars, if lighted that would be even cooler! Would like to turn off all the lights at night except for the display case's light.
