  1. Run them like a pair of zoomies that I run on my old dirt track car. The real ones are 18" long with no collector. They turn straight down at the head, but angle toward the rear of the car and have an angle cut on the very tip or outlet of each tube. Looks like you have room to run them from the head, on the outside of the frame and between the body work. You just wont be able to see the rear tubes all that well once assembled but it will look correct. You can make them out of solid core solder and drill the openings at the tips. Should look pretty good to me.
  2. Here's the only pic I could find of David Deny's truck. It's plumb crazy purple. He's a member of the Music City Mopar Club and so am I. I have a Road Runner that we show there. I've got a couple other pics of that truck, but they must be on my other pc.
  3. Yeah, the old forum was much better than this. These colors even hurt and strain my eyes to look at them.
  4. I have a Tn State Trooper car that I just recently started that I could add to this build. Also have a Detective car from a TV show that is half way finished and a scratch built emergency truck that is half way started too. LOL, sounds like I am getting good at half way building models lately ... lol.
  5. I'll take a look at them when you get them posted.
  6. Thanks. I looked the other day and did not find one. Maybe I used the wrong search word .... lol.
  7. I've got a couple of them and someone offered up a great suggestion to me on how to deal with the crappy chassis details. You can swap in a chassis from the '71 Duster from AMT I think it was. I tried it and it seems like it will work and you wont have any molded in ex. or tranny tail shafts. Also the '68 Dart that's supposed to be reissues soon may also work.
  8. All I can offer to that is good luck. You might need it.
  9. It should be a Dodge L-700. I had that kit and tried to build it. It's junk that's for sure. I built the flat bed with no real trouble. The truck was half done and reboxed before I started throwing stuff. I finally built the car into a old school asphalt race car. Here's the link to that project. Maybe that will inspire or make you drop it and run ... LOL. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.p...sphalt+race+car
  10. I've been all over that site you mentioned. Great info on it. Loved watching that show when I was kid. Too bad it did not last long.
  11. PM me your e mail addy and I'll forward you a club e mail to me from a club in Clarksville, Tn. and any other info I have.
  12. Where did you find that kit at? I'd love to get my hands on one too. I'm currently making one from a stock 4x4 and parts that I can find or make.
  13. I got your pm. Pretty sharp little buggy. I know you said led tail lights, but are the housings from a Mustang? Kinda look like them if you turn them the other way.
  14. They are still very easy to clone.
  15. Only on Road Runners, GTX and Sport Satellites, not on std Satellites.
  16. No, it's a clone. Look at the Satellite brake lights. If they had used a Sport Satellite to make there clone it would have been harder to catch. Only Sports, Road Runners and GTX's have the angled tail lights. The plain Satellite has straight lens like that clone has. An even easier Road Runner to clone is the '71 through '74. Only way to tell a Road Runner from a Cloned Satellite is to check the VIN and Fender tags. I have books just for that purpose too. So far to date, the only Road Runners and Satellites I have owned have been '68, '69, '70, and some '76 models. The '76 through 80 is easy to clone too, so you have to have the book to check the numbers on them too.
  17. If you can't read, I can't help you. The chrome panel in that pic says SATELLITE on the right hand side just past where the PLYMOUTH letters end.
  18. It's a clone as I stated. The Sport is the easiest car to use to make a Road Runner or GTX clone.
  19. The first pic is a closer look at the Sport Satellite emblem and grill. The other one is small to see, but it's the GTX emblem.
  20. 68 Satellite 69 Satellite You can see the Satellite stamped in the lower right deck lid chrome trim. 69 Sport Satellite. Notice the grill is almost like a GTX except it says SPORT instead of having the GTX emblem in the center of it. '69 Sport convertible. Notice the angled Road Runner type tail lights and the chrome trim on the deck. It would have different trim on the deck if it was hard top.
  21. Again, welcome anytime. Are you going to make a Sport out of it or just use the plain deck lid with the flush lights? Either way, you'll have to delete the lights on the Road Runner bumper and rechrome or Al Clad it. If you do a Sport, you can get the GTX grill and just mod the center part of the grill. They are almost the same in appearance. I'll see if I can find a pic of one for you.
  22. That sir is a '68 Satellite like I stated in my post. And most likely a Sport. The Sport is one of the easier ones to convert to a look a like Road Runner or GTX. If you notice it has round marker lights only used in '68. DOT said they were too small and the '69 and up cars use a larger rectangle marker with a reflector on it. And the Sport Satellite does come with the chrome panel on the rear deck lid just like the one in the pic. The GTX is just a Road Runner with a chrome trim package and emblems. IT uses the same angled tail light lens that the Road Runner uses. The Satellite is the only one with the flat lens like the on in my pic uses. I've owned several Road Runners and Sats in this model year and the info I posted is correct.
  23. Here's a rear 3/4 view of a '68 Satellite. I hope that helps. You can see the chrome in the middle of the deck lid and that goes straight over to the back up light that is in the center of the tail light. And there's no lights in the bumper. That may be a Sport Satellite due to the stripe and chrome. Most do not have the chrome panel on the deck lid.
  24. Welcome anytime. The only thing I can tell you about the marker lights is that the '68 has very small round ones and the '69 has the larger rectangle light with the reflector lens in it too. Color should be fine. A friend of mine used to have a Sport Sat. and had it repainted, but it was too bright a yellow. Still looked nice though.
  25. You'd have to change the tail lights and rear bumper too. Sat. tail lights go straight across where the Road Runner in that pic has them sitting at an angle. Also the back up lights for the Road Runner are in the bumper and on the Sat. they start in the center of the tail light and end near the deck lid. I've owned both in the past so it was easy to catch.
