  1. I have an original '76 Road Runner 360 auto. It's not a '77 but I'll run you and shut you down if your money is right. As a matter of fact, it'll put a vette on the trailer. And since you said 77, the 360 Little Red Express was the car (cough, it's a truck) of the year for two years running. It out runs vette's too. Muscle died in 80 when everything went FWD even though Mopar still made some stock 200 plus turbo 4's. And the 4 dr rule is not lame. No muscle car ever had 4 dr.s and a slow arse impala is not a muscle car that's for sure. Out ran too many of those things with a stock 318 single ex. Gran Fury. Even easier in my 360 4 spd Duster. Maybe it's just the driver in these cases.
  2. Welcome aboard. Never tried a demo car, but built a lot of race cars. Here's a pic of the last two race cars I built. The blue one is a Lindberg '40 Ford with a 390 Thunderbird engine in it. It has Thunderbird on the valve covers, it's not from a Thunderbird car for those that don't know that. The '41 Willy's was built like a car from the movie "Hot Rod". Running a blown 426 Hemi. I've got a bunch of older '60's and '70's NASCAR projects that I am collecting parts for at the moment.
  3. Yeah, it's a pretty good show. Supposed to be 200 models from what I heard, but not sure if that is correct or not. I did not show anything. I've got a whole bunch that are started, but not even close to finishing right now. Since you answered, you know that '41 Plymouth I got from you? I ended up with another one. It's the Coke version. I did some google searching and found some great pics. I guess you or someone was going to do a chop top on the '41 I got from you. I'm not a fan of those and might be beyond my skill at the moment. I got a Galaxy that had a resin convertible boot in it. So here is my idea. I'm going to make matching painted '41's. One a stock HT and one a stock Convertible. I'm thinking red with a red and white interior and white boot. I'm going to have to mod the boot that I have to make it fit. It's a tad long and too wide. I think I can shorten it up without loosing the wrinkles and details in the boot cover. What you think ??
  4. Nov IPMS show pics for your reference. http://public.fotki.com/Tank33/model_shows...murfreesboro-t/
  5. I'd love to have one of those. I got the chance to judge an original 68 Hemi Dart at a car show a few years ago. It was a black one that had made the car mags at the time, so you may have seen a pic of it in a mag somewhere.
  6. Here's you some reference pics for inspiration. http://musclecars.howstuffworks.com/classi...d-wheelbase.htm http://www.hotrod.com/featuredvehicles/hrd...dere/index.html http://www.allpar.com/history/plymouth/1965.html at the line Gate City Learners Sales Not sure what Dart you are looking for, but I found this by accident and they have several Darts. http://www.speedcityresin.com/
  7. Yeah, I forgot about those, but that's probably out of my league of exp there.
  8. Thanks. Yeah, I know the kid called it a Dodge, but I knew it was not. I'll do a search for that, and see if I can find it. You would not happen to have a link for it??
  9. Thanks. Looks like your off to a good start on that one. I don't have any pics of the car I want, but I did find a couple you tube clips from the movie that the car was in. First clip shows it unpainted on the hook and you can see it again at the 10 sec mark painted black. Second clip shows it in it's only street race scene with the bad guy. Hot Rod chase scene So far I have built the Willy's and won a contest with it. I have the 34 Ford tow truck almost finished. I need to paint and decal the Olds body that you see in the sec. clip. If I could find that black Dodge I'd be happy. I'll never get the AMC patrol cars. I bet they were never made.
  10. Do you know where I can find a std body like that without the altered wheel base? Wanting one forever to do a replica of a movie car. That one looks correct with the roof pillar and single headlights even though it looks like it's made for duals. I need a std wheelbase car though.
  11. Probably cause they never came stock with redlines.
  12. Check this out too. http://lakelandraceway.com/profiles/profiles_larry_reyes.htm
  13. I just need a dist. some engine paint and paint the body. and I should be done.
  14. Thanks for that advice. I'll check those out. I might even have a Duster in my stash.
  15. Yeah, I just wished I could find something to stuff under the AMT 69 Barracuda. It's a decent body, but the chassis and engine stink to high heaven. I wanted to build one of them as that red and white and gold test mule car that you can find pics of in the Mopar Performance engine and chassis books. The one that has chrome reversed steel wheels on it. And I wanted to build the second one I have into a car like a friend of mine used to own. Gotta find a better chassis before I can proceed though.
  16. I'd like to find a 4dr convert and do the car from Last Action Hero, or was that a Catalina?? Can't remember right now without looking it up.
  17. I picked one up yesterday at Hobby Lobby on my way home from worked and played around with the body from Rosco's car and the chassis from the 70 Super Bee. Seems like it can be made to fit to give better chassis details. Along with using the 440 from the Bee kit if I can find a single 4 intake for it. Did anyone notice the trans that is in the Rosco kit is a 4 spd. not an auto?
  18. I really like the clear one that shows off all the detail under the body. I like them both really. They used to make a larger scale Petty Charger with a clear shell like that years ago too. I'd kill to get a hold of one of them.
  19. Never would consider it my friend. Just never would. If your ever in Tn, you should drop by our race shop and see some of the real 1to1 cars we build.
  20. That was the last raced that I attended in person too. I was sitting near the flag stand when it happened. I even managed to get a couple pics of it. It looked like no big deal. Only thing that struck me funny about it was that Schraeder hit him hard enough in the RR to brake the rear tire off of the axle and was kinda stuck to the car till they parted in the grass. We did not know he was dead till on the drive back from the track. I still watch them on tv when I have the time, but I don't like the new cars and it's pretty much an IROC race now. I've got a 300 pg report somewhere around here that tells the whole investigation with color pics. NASCAR did a computer model, then built a car and crashed it and it bent within and inch or two in every place the computer model and e's real car bent during the crash. They did not miss a thing. The photos look like csi pics with rulers around the bent steering wheel and ripped seat belts covered in blood and all.
  21. Yeah, that's not too bad there. The angle is not as good as it should be, but it's not too long. Your belts are pretty long, but it does look like the cars scale maybe off compared to that pic. I race a car in the NASCAR G.N. Sportsman div. just for reference. Regardless of class, the mounting arrangements remain the same. That's what got earnhardt killed after all. Improper seat belt mounting. When Schrader hit him the passenger door, his left side belt was ripped by the adjuster, his body turned and went forward striking the temple area of his helmet onto the steering wheel which just happened to have one of the spokes at that position where he hit. He hit the wheel so hard it bent it over and those are steel spoke wheels by the rules. He had a crack in the skull from the temple, over the ear, all the way to the basil area and that's what killed him.
  22. Looks great except for those seat belts. The shoulder harness would never go back that far. Belts are kept as short as possible and the shoulder harness should be at a 45* angle downward. That's from Simpsons own mounting instructions. I build and race cars, and safety is the most important part to me, so that's why I caught that.
  23. Reference vid with real Red Barron car and others.
  24. Great looking truck.
  25. I knew someone would find that reference useful.
