  1. Still in it. I just got bogged down on mine. I'll get some pics up when I make some more note worthy progress.
  2. In the last couple of days I got my resin Weld drag wheels for a specific version of the Little Red Wagon I am working on and some resin carbs. I also got a resin hood for the Thunderbolt that I robbed and cut up for another kit and a pitch fork hood for the 70 Super Bee. And an AMT blue printers engine parts pack all from e models.com. Today I picked up a Revell '55 Street Machine to see if I can do a better job of cutting off the front clip for a flip front end. First one is just not smooth enough. I got a 70 Mustang to use the interior out of for my Gone in Sixty Seconds original Mustang. I also picked up some Pigma MICRON PENS in a 3 pack of .25,.35,.45mm tips, a 6pack of Sharpie fine tip colored pens (black, blue, green, red, orange, purple) a Prisma Color metallic silver fine tip paint pen, Ranger Black Embosing Powder and Elmers glue, all from the Hobby Lobby. My order of some detail gauges from Model Car Garage was waiting on me when I got home as well. Guess I need to get to work.
  3. Here's some pics of the Original Eleanor that I am working on. I took the hood and cut out the Mach 1 naca ducts and replaced it with some clear styrene that I had. I managed to get the curve at the back of the hood carve back in it as well.
  4. That's just an awesome build you have there. Best one I have seen on in in while.
  5. Welcome, anytime. I've caught the same mistake on some Mopar kits before. Not sure how they screw that stuff up. I've even caught them with the pins made to mount the carbs backwards. Only car I have ever seen a holley sitting backwards on is a 427 Cobra.
  6. Cool. I need to post some pics of mine. I've got almost all of it done except the hood mods and all the paint for the body.
  7. Gotta remember to use that emergency brake next time. We have a sale tax holiday this weekend. We have one in spring and one in fall for school. We did not get to have the spring one this year due to the economy. By law, they can cancel the spring tax holiday, but not the one in the fall. So, my lap top caught a bug and it's old enough it needed replacing and I could not get it to reformat anyways. So, I picked up a new Toshiba Satellite today.
  8. That one looks good. And thanks for the info. I was thinking of using some screen mesh I have behind the grill, but what you have looks even better. Found some dump truck and const. truck decals on that site you posted the link too. And I ordered some gauge faces from MCG too. That should wake it up a bit. I would not mind getting another one to make a tractor out of instead of a short frame dump truck. There's a lot of sanding and painting with over 300 pieces, but it should look real good when finished. I think I'll stick with the red cab and chrome and the aluminum dump bed.
  9. Thanks for the info. I'll check those out.
  10. I picked up like 6 or 8 of the smaller ones from the Dollar Tree store some time ago. Have them sorted for tires, engines and parts, and rears and chassis stuff that will fit in there.
  11. O.k. .... Whew, found the Alt. so I don't need that anymore. Could use some help with the other stuff though.
  12. I thought it was a hair dryer so all those preppies could keep there hair fixed up right .... lol. I can't believe people would fall for that ######, or that they let them get away with trying to sell it.
  13. Working on an I H Paystar 5000 dump truck. Need some detail picks of the I H V8 turbo in that truck so I can run some lines and stuff to add some details. Also need an alternator for it. I removed mine to paint, and I can't find it anywhere. It's like it got up and walked off. I'm the only one at my work area, so I know someone did not take it or knock it off. I went over the floor using my flash light and it's just gone. It's an AMT/Ertl kit. Could use some better looking aftermarket horns for the roof and some antennas and a cb radio to deck out the interior. Gauge decals would be nice too.
  14. We had some incidents when I worked for the dealer, but nothing like that. I got into an older Mustang. I think it was a 65 with a straight six and auto. You had to goose it to get any car on the lift cause it had a hump in the floor that covered the chain (think motorcycle chain) and the hydro lines. When I goosed it, the spring on the carb broke and it went wide open and started smoking the tires. I had the front brakes locked to keep it from going into the block wall until I grabbed the key and killed it. No damage other than a black spot on the floor. Better it happened to me then than to that old man out on the street. Spring was rusted into. Same lift. Had a mini van on it and the seal blew as I was trying to get it to raise up and trip the safety lock. I had been under it and was waiting for parts and lowered it to start the brake job on the RF while I was waiting on the parts. It started going down by itself and I hit the power button and the seal blew. Covered me in hydro oil, the van slammed into the floor. Funny part, guy comes running over and has no clue about the hydro oil all over me and the floor. He just sees me on my knees covering my face. I was trying to get the oil away from my eyes before it got into them. Opened my eyes just in time too. I hear are you all right and then see him round the corner and before I can yell out (mouth covered in oil too) he hits the oil and goes sliding past me on the floor past two bays and into the block wall on the far end of the shop. He probably did not like it, but it was funny. I missed this one. I had went to the office to use the cleaner rest rooms and I heard this "BOOM" that just shook the whole building. Went running to the shop as fast as possible. A friend of mine had a baby blue Tempo that he could not get started running at home after working on it (replacing part after part) one weekend. I told him to tow it in to us, cause we needed the scanners and such. Well, Keith Tune fixed it and he stepped inside and sat down. Hit the key and when it started "BOOM!!" The muffler was full of fuel and fumes from my friends weekend of working on it. IT ignited and blew the whole exhaust system off of it. We had to call the fire dept one time to put out the dumpster. The owners son was cleaning out a back storage room with all kinds of junk from boxes to rubber bumper covers from the body shop and such. He decided to burn it in the dumpster since it was full. High winds and paper stuff flying out of the dumpster set the tall dry grass on fire right beside the building. Had to evac all a the cars that we could start or push out by hand. Left a couple on stands and lifts inside. Owner was so tore up he connected the water hose from the wash bay into one big circle. Fire Dept. put it out in a couple min. Cars and the shop stunk like a fire for a couple days. Sometimes, stuff happens.
  15. Well, yeah, it's not clear like glass.
  16. So there is a GT 6 coming out at the end of the year. I did not know that. I have the first 4, but I don't have the new PS3 so I don't have GT5 yet. I've got better things to spend $400 bucks on right now instead of a PS3. They need to drop the prices on those things as long as they have been out. And they complain about the profits being down, no wonder, not many can afford to splurge $400 for a game console right now.
  17. Nice. Just for future reference, the wiper motors are painted black, the brake boosters on the older cars can be black or gold iridite. An most people don't know the washer tanks were clear plastic when new. They turn this whiteish tanish color with age and under hood heat. So far, I have only seen one built with a clear washer tank.
  18. Scale Productions has the kit to do a 2005 Mustang, but not the '67. Strada Sports has one, but you aint gonna like the price of it. http://www.stradasportsstore.com/shop-bin/...oductsearch.cgi
  19. You are in luck then. I drive a NASCAR G.N. Sportsman car. I've raced on dirt, SCCA road courses and drag raced when I was not much older than you are right now. So if you need help with race cars, let me know. I have a pretty good data base of pics for reference on them too. As for stripping your paint, got to your local Advance Auto or Auto Zone and pick up some Super Clean. It's in a purple bottle, you can't miss it. IT will take the paint off without damaging the plastic. And if you have something that is chrome, and you want it painted, it will strip the chrome off too. Then you can paint it. Just for example, I bought an International Paystar Dump Truck by AMT/Ertl. I've owned all kinds of cars and trucks, and I have yet to see one with a solid chrome fan on the engine. So it goes in the Super Clean and when the chrome is gone, I'll paint it a semi gloss black to match the real ones.
  20. Gran Turismo is pretty good too, especially if you are a racer ... lol.
  21. I can't speak for your project in whole, but the drive line is easy to find. Flat head stuff is everywhere. Matter of fact Bill sells it from one of the same places that I buy stuff for our NASCAR Sportsman car. Here's a link that should really help you out. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/productsumma...ad&deptId=0 They should have everything you need and then some. Including racing parts. They even have T frames and fiber glass bodies too. You can get a catalog specifically for the flat head stuff without having to thumb through a catalog full of race parts too. I get both catalogs myself. Check them out and let me know if that helps any.
  22. LMAO!!!! We have red light camera popping up over here. You can see them mounted on poles on all four corners of a major intersection. If you run the red light or just roll over the white line it takes a pic of the lic. plates. Then they send you a ticket in the mail. They claim the same thing, safety to prevent crashes from running red lights. Has not changed a thing other than bring in a lot of cash. I see it as a way to cause wrecks. What if the light turns yellow warning you it's about to turn red to stop. You slam on your brakes so you wont get a ticket and get nailed in the rear end. But, the car behind you is at fault cause he hit you in the rear. It's an unwritten law if you hit someone in the rear, it's your fault, period. And there is a written law for following too closely and failure to maintain control of your vehicle too. So, you can see how these red light cameras can cause trouble and make the city plenty of cash too.
  23. Guess you got a point there. Besides, it was a bad enough day getting stolen the first time. And you think the owner would learn too.
  24. 1971. I have an original Dodge Charger without belts. I had a girl friend that got into a wreck with it and they gave her a ticket for no seat belt and car seat. I went to court and represented her in the case. Cost me ten dollars. Tn. law requires seat belts to be worn and car seats as well, up to a certain age and then boosters. The seat belt law has a provision that says it's optional to add seat belts to antique cars that did not originally have seat belts, so I got out of that one scott free. I had to pay the $10 car seat fine, but no court cost or anything else. I asked the judge after his ruling about it. I told him don't take this the wrong way ( I did not want him to change his mind) but why am I charged with the car seat. She had the seat, just no way to attach it. He kinda said in in a round about way that it broke the law and they were going to get something out of it for being there .... lol. Not in so many words, but that is exactly what he meant.
