It was metallic blue. And technically it was Ashly in the warehouse, 'cause they were using the same list of cars, they just did not have names yet. lol.

Other common mistakes on factory builds is the at washer tank. They are not white. They are clear plastic. Engine heat and age makes them brittle and turn some what tanish white over time. Manual trans are not painted, but left bare cast iron or aluminum and front upper and lower control arms are not painted either.

Every been to Dukesfest? I went to it in '07 and '08 before John took it over and moved it to Ga. PM me with your e mail and I'll send you some pics.

Screw up. Just cut it off and turn it back straight with the intake like it's supposed to be. There is an after market racing intake that is made that way, but no factory intakes that I have ever seen turn them at an angle.

Nope. It goes on the filler panel between the glass and the deck lid. The engine in the General should have chrome valve covers and air cleaner too. There's an episode where you see from a distance, the engine hanging in the barn before they found the car. And the brake master and wiper motor are the wrong color though.

That's a sharp ride you built there.

Anybody else having problem with Firefox??
dwc43 replied to gbdolfans's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've been having problems with lock ups and low memory here lately. I think it's because I let the auto update update IE7 to IE8. Sometimes IE8 opens by it's self. Thinking about deleting IE8 and see if that helps it any. -

Peterbilt Car Carrier
dwc43 replied to Dingo's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Welcome, anytime. And the unmarked cars we use are just as bad. Pick them out miles away. Usually white, but now they can be any color. Black limo black tinted windows with multi antenna and spot lights and usually some type of black steel wheel with a center cap. -
I agree with you on that one.
-
Thanks. I have been using some blacks and this powder detailing stuff that Tamiya makes. Comes in a case with three colors and looks like a make up brush in the package too. It's alright, but I still have not been happy with my cast iron colors.
-
Just needs the black added to the bowl of the carb and that will look pretty real. What did you use for the cast iron color on the exhaust manifolds?
-
Looks like you are right on track. Keep working on it.

Peterbilt Car Carrier

I know what you mean about tv. Our cars have an ungodly amount of antennas on them. Here's usually what you will find on a Trooper car. The main radio transmits on one channel and receives on another so to speak. Makes tracking one with a scanner almost impossible. There's a gps tracker that works every time the mic button is pushed to transmit. They usually have one or two scanners in them so they can scan local and county radios, so that's one or two more antennas right there. Most carry a regular cb radio too. That's at least 5 so far. Then there's one for wi fi for the onboard lap tops, so that's at least 6 now. Now the local city and county cars wont have that many. Usually three or 4 on those cars cause they never leave a pre determined zone that they patrol where a Trooper car can go anywhere within the state. -
Thanks. I'll look into that .

In need of some Mustang wheels. I need the hub caps actually. The ones that have the flat center with the trim ring and the small black line between the cap and ring. I have one, but need to make a whole set. This is for the original Eleanor. I have everything else to finish this car up. I think ecept for these wheels.

The 2001 video re release features an all new musical score and all new sound effects. In the original video release, the sound effects made by the cars (engines, tires, crashes, etc.) is authentic. The six original songs by Philip Kachaturian featured in pre-1999 releases of the film (but since removed in the remastering process) are: - "Gone in 60 Seconds" - "Lois Lane Blues" - "I Do Hope the Man Doesn't Catch Me" - "Big Town, Big City" - "Charriot Ride" - "Low Rider" In my opinion when they removed the old songs from the re release of the original Gone it messed it up. So if anyone wants to see the better version get the VHS copy and watch it first before you ever buy the dvd. They are both great to have in your movie collection though.

Here's a link to the first movie if you want to get it. It puts the Cage movie to shame. 1st link is the dvd with all the extras, 2nd link is the original movie on vhs. http://www.amazon.com/Gone-60-Seconds-H-B-...6445&sr=8-4 http://www.amazon.com/Gone-Seconds-VHS-Edw...6350&sr=8-3

Need to see if you can plug that hole up with the original vents and pick up some Holman and Moody rims and I'd say you are off to a good start.
-
Thanks. I hope I can do it justice.

Well, I know it's a curb side, but it's a race car and I was going to mod it with an almost complete engine. You'll be able to see almost all of it if you look for it. That's why I was wondering.

1st. I want to know if purple super clean will destroy CA glues? I kind of messed a piece up and fixed it quite easily, but I need to dechrome it so I can paint it. If super clean eats CA glue, what else could I use to dechrome it? 2nd.It's a curb side if it has no hood to open, therefore there's no engine in it either. I get that. So is it still a curb side if I mod it so part of an engine can be seen through an opening in a hood ( think hood scoop I guess) and if you can see it through the fenders and the fake tranny and oil pan half is still on the chassis tub. Still wont have a hood that opens, but you'll be able to see a good portion of the engine if you look for it.

Another idea about a build off
dwc43 replied to Corvette.Jeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I got an idea. Since you started it Emo, why don't you make a list on your first post or make a new thread and call it the build off idea thread. And every one can just make a list of build offs they want t o do. When someone adds a new idea, just edit the first post and add it to the list. As a build off is complete, you don't erase it, just mark it as finished. That way you can keep a list and keep it in order and as two or three are completed you could pic one to take it's place from the list. Whata ya think? -

You should don one from Gran Turismo instead. Lots of real world race cars and muscle cars. -
If you want real Torque Thrust wheels with the cone shaped center cap for street use, just rob some from the '68 Mustang GT Bullitt kit. I think that is what you are wanting.
