It can pull it. I had a truck that delivers roll cage tubing to my shop. He got ready to back up and leave and the pin that holds the shifter to the Eaton Road Ranger sheared and at first it was stuck in reverse, but it popped out into neutral and would not move of course. I pulled him with a half loaded trailer with my Dodge Ram Charger 4x4 out onto the road so the service truck could get to him to hook up and tow when he arrived. I did have it in 4 lo, but I went through 3 gears pulling him out to the road way. I know if that truck can do it, the 700 can. Wont win no speed trials doing it though, but ,it's an in town day cab and speeds were slower back then anyways.

Movie vehicles

Another thing to keep in mind is that a truck brought everything that you eat, wear, and have in your house from port to your local Wally World. And it's atough job. I know, I only drove one for a year, and that was enough for me. Not cut out for everyone, that's for sure, so show a little respect, cause it's not just a job, it's a way of life for many drivers. -
Off to a good start so far. Since I have raced for years, might I add a suggestion. Stick with a small block to be more accurate and set it with the number one spark plug as close to even with the upper ball joint as the kit and headers will allow. That's pretty much a std chevy rule in all classes and they pretty much wont let you run a big block anywhere. Usually nothing bigger than a 400. That is if you are going for accuracy. Some and paper glued to some pvc pipe will help on those wheel openings too. Of course you can leave them a little rough since most cars are built in the back yard shops and are never perfect. Hope that helps.

LMAO !! You may be right, I never thought of that. lol

Only time they looked great was there first debut right after the paint shop. lol. After that, they were toast. HAS anyone ever caught the screw up where he's looking at his stuck gas pedal and he's talking into the radio, but his mouth is not moving at the time ... lol.

I've got a better idea for ya. Get your wife to take a pair of old panty hose and cut the legs off. Stick them on the end of the vacuum hose and use them to suck up the little parts. No more searching through the vacuum bag or the plastic can on those bag less types.

Nice job, but it's too slick. Need to tear off half the front air dam and bash the sides in ... lol.
-
Yeah, I'd check for scale. Most of that wire is pretty small. And trash bag ties seems too big.

Info on Machined ALuminum Specialties wanted
dwc43 replied to dwc43's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The link worked, but you could not order online. IT says not taking online orders since 2003 and the page I was on would not let me return to the main page. I figured they were out of biz. -
I picked up a couple MPC 70 Super Bee's at my local HT to kit bash. They have two complete engines. The 426 Hemi with two intakes. Only the inline carb is correct for the kit. IT also has a 440 6 pack which is not correct for the kit. IT also has 4 shifters an extra axle narrowed Alston billet rear axle for drag use, extra wheels, and other parts. Also picked up a Micro Chisel. Everywhere I looked for one on the net was out of stock, but my Hobby Town had a couple along with extra bits too. Couple days ago, I also got the Revell '69 Torino Talladega to build into a stock car from a Hobby Lobby.

Thanks for the info. That's a big help. -
Someone posted this link a recent thread this morning. I checked the site and found a few things I'd like to use, but when I went to add it to the shopping cart it said not taking online orders since 2003 and there's no e mail contact info either. I guess it no longer exist, right? http://www.mas-parts.com/cart/indexframe_p...hwhlcentrs.html

That's how I felt about my Fujimi. And it has an engine stand too in case you want to build it as a curb side and show the engine.
-
Mine is a Fujimi too. And it has an engine. I posted the pic on the other page. It kinda scared me at first. It's got so much detail and small parts. You could make the antennas from wire and paint them as needed.
-
Well, I thought the only diff between a 5000 and a Q was the engine got 4 valves per cyl and a hp increase. And yes, some digital pics would be great. Just snap some with a camera and post them up that way.

Great. If they look like the ones in the old AMT '71 Duster 340 kit, I'll want some of them.

Plymouth GTX 1971 detailing set

I don't know they offer this for the GTX, it contains no parts other than the grill for the GTX. There's no GTX emblems, and you wont need the hood inserts or Road Runner badges either. The grill should have a GTX in the center of it too. -

I think I know what you are asking for ,but here's a complete run down of the parts. 1. Door Handels 2. Leaf Spring shackels 3. Hood vent inserts 4. Door lock cylinders 5. Hood and trunk emblems 6. and 7. Hood and fender engine call outs 8. Header bar and trunk emblems 9. Bumper bolt heads 10 of course is the grill. -
Yeah, give me a day or two and I'll try to post some box art. I'm having pc issues. Lap top has a bug and can't log on and the new broad band is kicking me off my desk top or else it's got some other issue. Not sure, I'll have to figure that one out. I also need a electric fan motor/cage for this car. I was painting one of mine and it too flight on me. I posted in the wanted section too. The pic of the chassis is for the red one. I am still waiting on my other kit to show up and I'm going to use it for the white one. I'll have both colors when I'm done. And yes, I was already going to paint the inside trim red on the white car. I don't have the movie, so if you have a good pic of where the red trim ends and the white water base begins, I sure could use one. Thanks.

I've got a 455 that needs building if he needs a bigger boat anchor.

That 340, does it have the correct Carter Thermoquad carb on it? If so, I'll take a few.
