Yeah, but he might have an idea on how to do what you want to do. My pc is down, so I am not sure when I'll be back online again.

Looking for a centering tool for drilling holes in rounds

I've got a contest this weekend. I'll have to ask around and see what they say. -
Go on admit it. You know you want one. lol.

I have a contest Sat. at Hobby Town. Last year there was a guy there that had a diorama of a Mustang dropping a couple bombs at a sub. One of the explosions made a water spout and that was what was holding the plane in the air as one wing tip passed through it. There was another splash where the other bomb hit. The water looked like the epoxy they use in the back of Mopar ecu ignition boxes and maybe MSD's too. It's a clearish amber color so it looked like muddy water and you could see the sub through it and the dirt floor below the sub and water. It had depth to it. I'll see if I can get some info and a pic of it if it shows up again.

If you can draw a perfect X across the face then you can find the center every time. I don't know if they make it on a small scale, but I have something that I use in my shop when working on real race cars that will work. It's simply a metal V with a metal straight edge rule that runs in the center of the V. You put the V on the outer face of the round stock and draw a line and then rotate and draw another line. You can do it as many times as you like, but all lines cross on the center where you want to drill. Here's a link to a pick of what I am talking about. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/disp...Itemnumber=4185 Now, only if they make it on a smaller scale that would be nice. -
Where did you get the rubber duck from ??

Try these. http://www.dicklandy.com/Gallery/images/69Charger-01.jpg http://www.dicklandy.com/Gallery/68-69.htm

Yeah, that's why he sold that Charger on e bay, so he could finish up the filming and editing of the second movie.

If I remember correctly they point to the drivers side. Always remember when your talking about cars, your perspective is always from the drivers seat. That means left is always the drivers side and right is always the passenger side no matter what angle you are looking at the car. You could also mount it on the front where it runs off the came like dragsters do. Here's a pic.

Movie vehicles

Yeah, I bought that thing for like 10 bucks when I was a kid. I know it was not the right truck, but I still liked it. Wished I could find an R series so I could make one of them I have a link somewhere for a guy that makes all of the correct decals for the truck. My HT has a mack, but it's not right either. It's a day cab and I bet it's a single axle, but I'm not sure. I have not built a truck in a long time. I started in 07 on a Dodge L700 from Lindberg, but that things a piece of ######. The frames and suspension wont line up for starters. And it has enough flash on it to build a second model from it all. If I could find the right trucks and decals there are three that I would really like to build, maybe four. That would be the KW Aerodyne from "B. J. and the Bear", The green KW from "Moving On", the correct Mack from "Convoy" and the '55 Slim Nose Pete from "Duel". I better forget that last one. Even if they made a kit for the truck and trailer, I'd never get it weathered correctly and would probably be disappointed in it. I do have some good pics of it from it's current owner though. -
Anytime. And you'll find out that the dist wont fit with the blower in it since it goes in the front on a Ford. They made angle adapters and such to mount them on the real thing. So it wont look so out of place if you have to mount it at an angle behind the blower belt.

That's a start. Keep us posted.

By the way, stock Ford uses blue cap and black wires. You could go blue cap and yellow wires for Accel performance plug wires, or red wires for Mallory, or Blue for Moroso or MSD.
-
Get your dist. from here. They look more like the real thing than what my Hobby Town carries. http://scalemodelingbychris.com/mad_distributors.htm You can use wire to connect both throttles on both carbs together and then run another wire to the fire wall to the carbs once the engine is installed for the throttle linkage. Once you install the new dist in the hole in the block you can run the wires between the headers where the spark plugs go. There's [ics on this site of the engines and how they are wired up.

Anytime Joe. I have a copy of that movie. Even got it signed. They held Dukesfest in Nashville at the race track I run at for a couple years in a row. John took over doing the show and moved it to Ga. though. Did John ever get the second movie made Collier and Co. ?? Would not mind getting my hands one a copy of it when it's available since I have the other one. It's not a flick, but the comedy part was not that good. I think it would have been better if it was done a little more serious with the story line he had going. At least made a more believable chase scene out in the orange grove.
-
Not bad. Throw a wired dist. in there and some linkage pieces and it'll look like it's ready to hit the streets.
-
Do you have a Hobby Town U.S.A. somewhere near by? They have a big R/C dept. in ours, but I don't venture over to that side much. They might have what you need. Check there web site and see if they have anything listed on there and they have a store lo cater too. Worth a shot.

Here's a good movie to copy a bunch of old trucks from. I used to have the Mack, but it was the wrong model compared to the one used in the movie though. http://www.imcdb.org/movie_77369-Convoy.html -
Primer is always a great base for some black paint after a light scuffing up you know. Easy to change your mind that way.

I've been using that site some lately. When I got back into modeling late '07 I got into this kick of building movie and tv cars and such from my favorite movies and tv shows. -
That's the one they painted to look like a blue stock car in one of the other episodes if I am not mistaken. I think Johns is Hemi Orange. Hard to tell from the pics though. Here's the link, you decide. http://www.autoblog.com/photos/general-lee-charger/230758/

Yeah, I remember that too. I can't remember which episode it was, but one of the Duke boys walks into the house with one color plaid shirt on and when he enters the door on the interior shot, he's got a different color shirt on. lol.

59, remember the first show? It opened with a jump of Roscoe Chasing the GL. They used it for the opening credits for a long time too. In slo moe, right when the tire first hits the ground, you can watch every fender, door, and quarter panel just shimmer and shake as the crash landing continues in slo moe. What a shot. I recently found a copy of Top Gun in the 5 dollar dvd bin at wally world and watched it too. You can watch the wheels when one of the Tomcats hits the carrier deck. That thing looks like it almost fell off. It took a 30* right turn when it hit the deck and you could watch the landing gear just shake and quiver too. That was another good slo moe close up shot.
