  1. Bob, Rubber band, excellent ! How's that for "back in the day technology ? I like it !
  2. Fellas, Judging from the box art, once the battery INSIDE the model died there was no way to replace it as the kit was molded with the body in two pieces. I could be wrong but, once you trapped the battery inside there seems to have been no way to replace it ?
  3. Folks, Thanks for all of the info, I'll get out sometime this week and pick up some materials and go from there. Pete L.
  4. Folks, I'm like to resin cast some small parts for my vintage slot cars, specifically wheel inserts. They're basically like the hubcaps included in model car kits. My question is what product would the members of this board recommend for this beginner's project ? Thank you, Pete L.
  5. Great ! I built one myself, not that nice, that didn't survive. Only some pieces here and there...
  6. Thanks again for the great reviews, I'll be in the market for the McEwen car as the Prudhomme car is already in my stash !!!
  7. Great job ! You can see that lots of work went into this build, thanks for sharing !!!
  8. Walt, Thanks again for all of the info, Id really be P.O'd if I'd have built the hardtop with the incorrect engine !
  9. Fellas, You never know where you'll find info, I've always wanted to build the above car. I have the kit, decals, I even have the paint, but I never knew that the car WASN'T HEMI POWERED !!! Thanks again for your expertise Walter, now I'll have to find the correct motor...
  10. Tim, Once again, thanks for the great extensive review. I never had this kit and I'm surprised that it includes all of the details that it does, hadn't it been for your review I'd still be under the impression that the kit was nothing more than a spinoff of the Chevell kits of the era ! The separate chassis and build up interior are a pleasant surprise and will surely be appreciated by first time buyers/builders like myself ! Thanks again,
  11. Walter, Really nice work, the cut up front seat makes it ! I remember seeing cars with the stuffing hanging out of the seat in the stick shift area at the track.
  12. The old Revell tires are also famous for "eating" the plastic wheels they were mounted on...
  13. Awesome build, looks like a 1:1 sprint car !!!
  14. Great job on a collection real of beauties, thanks for sharing !!!
  15. Great job, you really got the best out of the kit !!! Thanks for sharing !
  16. Walt, Great build, really captures the essence of the era !
  17. Ron, Really nice job, I still get a kick out of old box art builds !
  18. Great job !!!!!!!!
  19. Great builds, they look like photos of 1:1 scale automobiles !!!
  20. Nice work on one of my favorite kits of all time. Can't wait to see more !
  21. I try to finish every model I start, sadly there are several builds that are languishing in various stages of incompletion all over my work area. Somehow I always manage to work myself into a corner with some detail item that eventually frustrates me to the point of placing the kit back into the box and abandoning model building for a couple of months. Then when I do start another build I promise myself to stick to the basics and just build the kit and try to "have fun" while doing it until, yep, you guessed it, I get tangled up again with some minor detail...the cycle starts again. It's like being the "modelers Twilight Zone" !!!
  22. Tim, Thanks for the great review of the release of this kit ! I recall (and still have) the front wheel pants and the tall rear spoiler from the original release of this kit and am looking forward to getting a few of these ! I feel that the chrome tree includes some on the best wheels, both front and rear, offered for dragsters in this scale as well as several other pieces on the tree.
  23. Here's some I found that might help...the last picture reads: Ed Terry so I guess it's the same car with different lettering ? Notice the decal placement on the windows match AND the Radir wheels ! Good luck and keep us posted !
