  1. Great job, super paint work !!!
  2. Toner283, Thanks for the heads up, I'll be working on one soon !!!
  3. Fellas, Thanks for all the info on the Kits, I'll have to revisit my thoughts on building the Mako Shark from the other kit.
  4. Fellas, Not sure if this is the right topic to put this under but...would someone be kind enough to explain the difference in kit parts between MPC's MAKO SHARK kit and their CUSTOM CORVETTE kit ? Thank you, Pete L.
  5. I've been saving one of the original kits (with tired decals) for many years. Hopefully I'll be able to get it together using the new decals...AND maybe a Gary Burgin Mustang from the spare parts !!!
  6. Great job, a real beauty inside and out !!!
  7. Fellas, Here's where the paint scheme for the Mako Shark(s) came from...
  8. Fellas, I'd love to see the MPC Mako Shark reissued, I never had the kit as a kid and would like to get a shot at it before I get tooooooo old. The auction site Mako Sharks are a bit out of range for me...
  9. Joel, Thanks for posting the modified pic, it looks like it was a lot of work but it sure paid off !!! Pete L.
  10. Joel, Welcome to the forum, I met you years ago at one of the first NNLs that was held in a Church basement that was built on a steep hill. I still recall your 1/32 coach modified model. Any pics of it that you could post ?
  11. Fellas, The Mini Lite wheels will be a tough find as well...
  12. Bill, Lookin' good !!!
  13. Fellas, I came THAT CLOSE to buying one of these cars "back in the day"...and I clearly recall the funky wheel covers. I'll bet they're pretty rare these days !
  14. You've seen these as well...
  15. X2 !!!!!
  16. Andreas, ASTOUNDING ! Beautifully executed, wood is a difficult material to work with, BALSA is especially so ! Thanks for sharing the photos. Pete L.
  17. Doug, Really nice builds, I don't trust myself with the FUTURE application just yet but I'll be giving the method a try soon. Thanks for sharing the photos ! Pete L.
  18. JC, Thank you for the kind words sir ! Pete L.
  19. JC. That has got to be the best FORD GT build I've ever seen, beautiful !!! It looks like a 1:1 scale car...
  20. Folks, Two examples of polished plastic instead of paint, building kits like this remind me of my "yoot" ! I'll have to say however that in my estimation the earlier releases, particularly Monogram and to some extent AMT kits, were of much higher quality plastic. I also feel that the molds were polished to such degree that the resulting parts were very smooth and actually "glossy". I like to use TURTLEWAX for polishing the plastic, the old stuff that actually had a very mild abrasive in it and NOT INTENDED for clear coated finishes. Pete L.
  21. Steve, I too build kits and leave them in the molded colors...your Plymouth is STUNNING and carries the practice to new heights !!!! Pete L.
  22. Folks, With those prices, there's no better time for me to look through my stash and build the kits I have in house !!! Pete L.
  23. JT, Super job, great color and finish. A really clean build !!! Pete L.
  24. Fellas, My problem is I'm always on the internet when I should be working on my builds !!!
  25. George, Nice job ! What a fascinating story on the Corvettes !
