  1. Art, Thanks a lot for the break down of parts you cast AND ESPECIALLY the techniques for making stock seating and door panels ! I can appreciate the efforts and your reasoning for discontinuing the conversion kit...what I can't understand is why Monogram hasn't put the parts that were available back in the truck kit ??? Pete
  2. Art, Those parts you made for the '40 FORD pick-up were really cool, what with the recent releases maybe the time has come for their return !!! :D
  3. Fellas, I recall that years ago a resin company offered a "trans kit" that had many of the stock parts recast. Wheels, tires and stock hubcaps were included...
  4. Great work, super project planning and execution !!!
  5. Great stuff, I especially like the GULF colors on the roadster !!!
  6. Very well done the color scheme really makes it !!!
  7. Jon, Really cool build !!!
  8. Awesome build...looks like it should appear on the cover of HOT ROD Magazine !!!
  9. Very nice, great update on one of my old favs !!!!
  10. Great build...
  11. What a really great concept...super nice build !!!
  12. Fellas, Thanks for the kind words...here's a few more pics. I used the stock tail lights and a steering wheel from AMT's 1940 coupe, the BARRIS Cruisin' series Ford was molded in black so I just clear coated the wheel and painted the spokes red. I also used the dropped chrome front axle from the 1940. I thought that it would be the only on available in chrome at that time. The dual master cylinders and voltage regulator (?) were both pirated from the '32 Vicky kit which was also available at the time, and glued to the firewall using the WELDBOND.
  13. Here's the model and it's inspiration. MODEL CAR SCIENCE magazine cover, February 1964 !
  14. Fellas, This is the product I used for masking both the whitewalls and the roof insert...it works like MAGIC MASKER. The WELDBOND is a white glue I've been using for decades, windshields, chrome trim, etc. Here it's utilized to glue the metal intake parts to the carbs.
  15. Finally I created a chrome firewall like the one on the cover car. I also cobbled up a gas tank and a radiator.
  16. The body was molded in a high gloss black way back and it polished up really well. I painted wide whites on the ancient tires but I did use a newer issue engine and front axle.
  17. Fellas, I rescued an old AMT coupe "glue bomb" and tried to replicate an old fav from a magazine cover from "back in the day".
  18. Fellas, Thanks for the kind words. The body was simply polished and waxed...the interior likewise has minimal paint. The red panels and the floorboard are painted (brushed) and the black outline on the upholstered panels is a fine point Sharpie. If I could change one thing, I'd use a red Sharpie on the interior instead of a black one. Pete
  19. Clifford, In a word...AWESOME !!! Great attention to detail and color combos make 'em all "SUPERS " !!!
  20. Michael, Really nice work...inspirational to say the least !!!
  21. Shay, Yes awesome paint, can't wait to see this one finished !!!
  22. Ray, Great job, beautiful interior work !!! Is that bare metal foil on the upholstery or silver paint ?
  23. Another super job, thanks for sharing !!!
