  1. About the paint -- I'm not familiar with the Aquarius brand, but it's quite a nice metallic with a very fine metal flake. Is it really a metallic, or more like a pearl?
  2. Dick Tracy was at the forefront of a lot of technology, some of it yet to come. As a character named Diet Smith said -- an entrepreneurial mogul in the Dick Tracy strip -- "The nation that controls magnetism will rule the universe." He invented floating platforms.
  3. One more sign that the technology will be picking up speed: http://www.cnn.com/2013/02/13/tech/innovation/obama-3d-printing/index.html?hpt=hp_t2 PLEASE don't use this as an excuse for political commentary (prohibited on this forum) or snarky comments.
  4. Fotki wants me to pay for codes that allow posting in forums. Photobucket doesn't and is very easy to use. Otherwise, they're pretty similar.
  5. Lots of good color combo ideas here. The least authentic would be anything metallic, since metallics were rare, didn't wear well and were usually avoided. http://www.google.com/search?tbm=isch&hl=en&source=hp&q=1936+mg+sa+saloon&gbv=2&oq=1936+mg+sa+saloon&gs_l=img.12...1639.7559.0.10165.17.7.0.10.10.0.75.356.7.7.0...0.0...1ac.1.lQlsHPUuyDY Since I'm interested in the Jaguar SS, which shares a lot of similarities with the SA Saloon, I found this article interesting -- good SA material here. http://www.scottpeter.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/new_page_9.htm More detailed stuff from Autocar mag when the SA was introduced... http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/history/pdf/2ls_magnette_autocar.pdf You can enlarge - zoom back and forth - substantially on this image when you click on the thumbnail at http://m.bonhams.com/auctions/10228/lot/49/
  6. How about: "We do not have a bottomless pit of financial resources." ??? Adding a complete section like that -- with the kind of categories you find in newspapers (which are paid for) -- is not a simple task. And without categories, it would be just as crazy and disorganized as this site's Wanted section.
  7. Evidently, some people don't care that this means more jobs for Americans, or don't understand that we live in a global economy. We in Tennessee are enriched for the many jobs that are provided by Nissan and VW, plus parts manufacturers like Denso, among many others. Wake up. Or maybe we should petition GM not to change anything because we're not going to like it anyway.
  8. In the past, I have occasionally received a response from moderators, regarding a thread that went south... "Well, you should have known from the beginning it was going to go that way." Back at ya.
  9. I thought Harry explained it pretty clearly. Why should moderators have to put up with the guaranteed whining that would come from a sale gone bad that was openly negotiated on this forum? If you've got something to sell, there's eBay. If you're willing to pay for something you need, solicit a PM through the Wanted section and keep it between you and the seller. Or simply Google for it. According to Harry's original post, you can also put a link here to your business or to your listing on eBay, but no "selling" details are allowed. For example... "I have a number of kits on eBay right now [list and add links]. I think that's bit over the edge and could cause a lot of garbage postings, but evidently it's okay. Anyway, I think Harry's original post here covers most of the bases.
  10. I wish modern iterations of muscle cars would restore the classic, rumbling, exhaust sounds. The biggest disappointment of my C4 Corvette was its utter silence unless I was winding it out and getting the whine, and I couldn't afford aftermarket stuff. I was just reminded of this about five minutes ago, when I saw the first 60s Shelby Mustang GT that I've seen in decades as it went down the block; the exhaust sound was a wonderful thing. It sounded just like James Garner's personal Shelby GT in "Grand Prix."
  11. Or break up your files and move them into a variety of new albums so they're easier to find.
  12. If the finished build turns out as nice as your typography, this will be terrific.
  13. I'm on and older Mac OS (Tiger). Their early beta version of the new, revised site meant the old site wouldn't work with that OS anymore, and my screen went blank every time I tried to use it. But their most recent version has restored my access. Plus, it's easier to use than before.
  14. Great work, nice photography.
  15. Better put a bracket on that floating alternator or Harry's gonna jump on you.
  16. Beautiful paint work and nice detail. But it would be a lot nicer if you added paint detail to the firewall and engine bay body parts.
  17. Welcome. Looking forward to seeing some of your work.
  18. Here are some shots of the 1/32 kit. Looks like it can be built into a nice model. http://www.flickr.com/photos/23875695@N06/5518626476/
  19. Evidently I left 3 zeroes off
  20. I saw one on the street a few weeks ago, in matte/satin black. Very impressive, and about as mean-looking as a car can get. Quite a Batmobile flavor to it.
  21. All the girls I dated at my earlier ages for YEARS, were generally around 25. Now, I could be their father (or grandfather).
  22. More info and images here. Sold for over 700 euros. http://www.bornrich.com/vintage-rolls-royce-honeymoon-express-silver-clouds-produced.html

  24. This is all very awesome, especially the way everything fits together and works in one pass, like the jack, but what issues do you face when it comes to painting the separate parts?
