  1. Steven Wright: I put Instant Coffee in a Microwave and went back in time. A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk I have a work station... Can atheists get insurance for acts of God? If Fed Ex and UPS were to merge, would they call it FedUP? If they arrested the Energizer Bunny, would they charge it with battery? I believe five out of four people have trouble with fractions. I don't have a solution, but I admire your problem. If quitters never win, and winners never quit, what fool came up with, "Quit while you're ahead"? Okay, who stopped the payment on my reality check? I believe the only time the world beats a path to my door is when I'm in the bathroom. What hair color do they put on the driver's licenses of bald men? What was the best thing BEFORE sliced bread? I put a skylight in my apartment. My upstairs neighbors were furious.

  3. Wow. If that's just a mock-up, I can't wait to see the finished model.
  4. This is Craig Jackson's personal collection. http://money.cnn.com/video/pf/2013/01/11/pf-craig-jackson-ultimate-garage.cnnmoney/index.html?source=cnn_bin
  5. Every village has an idiot. And some of them are parents. A few statistics estimate that over 300,00 crack babies are born each year. If anyone needs a village, it's them. What about the homeless kids? The abused? The bullied? Yeah, let's just let them and their useless parents figure it out and forget about a safety net -- a village of those who will support them. I had to comment, but if there are members who want to turn a simple observation about school bus markings into a diatribe against government policy, practice and certain personalities, I'll pipe right in. Ridiculous.
  6. I never had to ride in a school bus with no seat belts or AC. I rode in my Dad's car with no seat belts or AC. Or I rode my bike to school without a helmet (what was that?). Which may explain a few things. (Happy 98th birthday today to my dear, late Dad).
  7. I don't know how you do these models at this teeny scale, but they're amazing and stand up well to the very large images. The third picture looks like it's about actual size.
  8. Nice work on a tricky model. What I don't understand is why Revell didn't put the detail into the exhausts (?) in the rear bumper.
  9. Went to the British Grand Prix at Brands Hatch in '68, and the preliminary races were a hoot, with the Minis going airborne on the rises. A treat to see. And Prince Charles arrived by helicopter, escorting the Penthouse Pet of the Year.
  10. Aren't we talking about police helicopters here?
  11. Bravo. Definitely worth the wait and the investment, including the upgrades. Did you give it a brake job yet?
  12. Winner, winner! (The duck comes down and gives you $100). http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070929210420AABKWXO
  13. SUPERB wash work on the chrome areas. What was your method and material?
  14. I am constantly amazed at what you build, and your achievement at 1:75 is world-class.
  15. I am already blown away by: • The fact that you have an Atom • How this model is being done Eagerly following.
  16. Glad you're here and getting into the groove. If you're a starting modeler, you've done quite well, and it's very clean. However, I'll go against the grain with all the compliments posted on this thread. I don't think all that applause does you any favors. This model really needs a lot more attention to detail, including chrome trim touches and especially the dashboard detail. There's a pretty high standard on this forum, and you would get even more accolades if you took a few extra steps.
  17. What a dope. Did you reply to him? If so, what did you say?
  18. Good one, Harry. Sure looks like a model, and I can only find two small clues that tell me it's real. But even then, I'm not certain.
  19. Thanks. Very inspiring work.
  20. I used to feel that way, but those single words of praise aren't for the benefit of the audience, they're to encourage a fellow modeler, and perhaps spur him on to even better achievements.
  21. A true masterpiece, Harry, and excellent text. This is definitely material for the magazine -- and a special occasion, since you actually FINISHED it! However, it would be good to see more full-body shots from a variety of angles. I'd like a better look at your hood piano hinge. This build addresses all the main issues I face with my 1/15 Bugatti T59 - safety wire, hood piano hinge, replace the Brooklands windscreens, re-do the exhaust (and wrap it with asbestos), seat material, rivets, etc. Except I've got to do this on a diecast body.
  22. Both are just terrific.
  23. Great work. The foiling doesn't get better than this. Any tips on that?
  24. I could see the manufacturers issuing "collection" series kits such as cars that are in the collections of Leno, Lauren, Blackhawk, etc., and not necessarily based on custom builders. Maybe that sort of branding might increase interest.
  25. I have all kinds of kits that I use as donors for others -- the 1/16 Rolls Phantom II has provided a lot of parts that are accurate and not included in the Mercedes SS and Rolls Phantom III kits, from chrome parts to wheels, etc., and the same for 1:24 Rolls kits that supply parts for my Mercedes 500K and Bugatti Atlantic.
