  1. The site is fine today. I figured the E-Type might hit a chord, since TDR already has a head start with the super-detailed 1/8 engine (which, I assume, can easily be scaled to 1/12). Based on your technology, I would guess that you could do bodies for both 1/8 and 1/12 without a lot of hassle, though 1/12 would require a full kit.
  2. So...worldlingo.com says you said this: I am not a pastry! I am a man! A man says I to you!!!! But if you were a pastry, what kind would you be?
  3. This is an anti-spam program that Mike must have on his computer. From what I can tell, it's legit. One way around it is to put the URL for this site on your white list. Or, you can uninstall it. http://spam-filter-review.toptenreviews.com/ca-anti-spam-review.html
  4. I wish someone would do decent, accurate, 1/12 scale versions of the Mercedes Gullwing and Ferrari 275 GTB that are horrible jokes in the Renwal/Revell issues. These are legendary cars that haven't been done right in large scale (though the Italeri 1/16 Gullwing is pretty good). The 275 GTB might be salvageable if it had an accurate body, egg-crate grille, proper Campagnolo wheels and better engine. But I'd buy the body and grille if that was all that was available. I would die for a 1/12 or even 1/16 Bugatti Atlantic kit, but I don't see a lot of sales potential there. I'm guessing that most of the responses here will be for Mopar or other muscle cars. But a 1/8 or 1/12 427 Cobra might get a good response. Another good offering would be a convertible (OTS) body for the 1/8 Monogram Jaguar E-Type (or fix the coupe body to get rid of the notorious 2-part body seam). A complete 1/12 kit of either would be killer. (PS – What's up with your website? Can't access it right now.)
  5. Check these out. Custom made one-of-a-kind scale model pedal cars, 1:2.5. Built in 1997 by a father and son in Duisburg, Germany. Only factory made pieces are the headlights, wheels and tires. http://dfwelitetoymuseum.com/special-rare-toys/1928-mercedes-benz-ssk/
  6. I did a little digging and it turns out the builder, Wolfgang Dell, is a professional custom knifemaker and engraver. His website shows his facilities and his knives (if you don't speak German, you won't learn a whole lot here). Couldn't find any info on model cars. http://www.dell-knives.de/pub/page.asp?l=de&id=3&id2=9
  7. Keep it coming. I'm enjoying my front row seat.
  8. Saw this link on another forum. Amazing, and amazingly huge. http://www.dell-knives.de/sskl/index.html
  9. Great work Matt, especially fixing that body seam. And I appreciate the registration number over the nose, a bit of authenticity that always made me cringe while visiting UK countries.
  10. This is no big deal, especially when it comes to someone who's new here. It just gets a little irritating when people who have been here a while quote these big picture posts where you have to scroll down through tons of stuff you've already seen to read someone's "attaboy." There may be some sense to the three-image per post limitation at scaleautomag.com. As you've seen there, that doesn't mean you can't do multiple 3-image posts. On the other hand, I've noted that something really weird has happened over there with your ability to display any kind of quotes, either text or image, in your replies. But maybe I'm missing something.
  11. Hattley, just in case you haven't seen it, quoting this many pictures of this size is not a good idea, especially when you have a comment of only one sentence. Here's the forum recommendation: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=27314&st=0
  12. Wow. It looks perfectly real, even in the tightest detail shots. Hats off.
  13. "oop narf?" Are you a Droog? What does that mean?
  14. They can do anything they want, and they have a contract with Ferrari for the use of the F430 engine and running gear. Further, the guy who commissioned the car has agreed to allow 24 other examples to be built at a cost of about $500,000 each.
  15. Uhhh...Cato...he wanted to see carburetors, not Phasers.
  16. It's a chrome cannoli.
  17. Okay, I based my statement about fuzziness according to picture 3, below, which I picked at random. I also discovered that I have to click twice to blow up an image to its maximum. But I've gotta tell ya, I still don't know what I'm looking at – and apparently, neither do other people. PS: Nicely stated, Michelle. Nobody's trying to dump on this thread, just trying to help.
  18. The subjects of the pictures are so small and out of focus that it's impossible to see what's going on here. Maybe better pictures will clear up everyone's confusion.
  19. Stunning, gorgeous work. I wish the pictures were bigger.
  20. I admit that I don't like rods at all, but my question is, how do you determine the type of car that goes on the cover? While there are many fine touches on the cover car, it still looks like a toy to me, and I think the cover should be reserved for builds that make you say, "Can you believe it's a model??!!"'
  21. Actually, they're carbon fiber and composite. The coupe is available with a totally carbon-fiber finish/pattern
  22. I just love it. Between the Beetle and the Model T parts, this would be a "People"s Rod."
  23. For those like me who appreciate Peter Lombardo's approach to cool, over-the-top, Figoni & Falaschi-style automotive design, here are the 2010 Bugnotti roadster and coupe from Delahaye USA. The roadster was designed by Chip Foose and the body built by Deco Rides. Available as a 1:1 kit car or complete. Couldn't find pricing information. The coupe was just unveiled at Pebble Beach and is a tribute to the T57SC Bugatti. Might be some inspiration here for those who are building Peter's Deco car. http://www.delahayeusa.com/bugnotti.html http://www.luxuryautodirect.com/2010/04/2010-delahaye-usa-bella-figura-bugnotti-type-57s/
  24. This is my last hijack on this Lotus thread, but there's a decent-looking 1/32 Matchbox kit out there. A bit small for my ten thumbs.
