  1. No details yet, but they say he's had a bad case of flu for several days. Time for the Grim Reaper to take a break.
  2. Just in.
  3. Now something else weird is happening, on a random basis. Earlier today (but not at the moment), I clicked on reply boxes and got a red dotted line across the box.
  4. This thread is 6 years old. If you moved the original image files since then, they'll now have different file names and not be linked to the image host. You'll have to re-post.
  5. There must be some validity to the skills of a linguist like Henry Higgins (My Fair Lady/Pygmalion), who could identify a Londoner's origin down to the neighborhood where he was born. They say the Cockney accent belongs to East Enders who were born within the sound of Bow bells.
  6. Makes me wonder why you don't jump in with 1:24-25 car kits.
  7. Superb. Building kits like this is so rewarding when it takes you back into history.
  8. Perhaps so, but I only changed my browser on my desktop, but not on my iPad, and had to log in again from the iPad. Not a big deal, just curious.
  9. PB recommended switching to Google Chrome, which didn't work any better than Safari for me, but Firefox works OK. I'm in a constant back-and-forth with PB and browsers upgrades, between their new systems that no longer support my iMac, and my upgrades to catch up with them. I am now totally maxed out for my operating system and memory.
  10. For example, I just changed my desktop browser from Safari to Firefox, but that means I also have to log in again on my iPad. I'm sure there's a logical reason, but I don't know why. AND, I just got this post kicked back to me with a message that says, "New posts within a short time frame are limited. Please wait 18 seconds before submitting."

  12. Switched from Safari to Firefox. Let's see if that helps: By the way, the Maharajah is a Phantom II.
  13. My problem is simply not being able to copy my PB images. When I place my cursor in the IMG field, I get "BLOCKED PLUG-IN" in the box. No problem uploading images to my albums. Tech support isn't helping.
  14. I seem to have erred in the links that Cato posted for me. The image I described as the Goldfinger Rolls is actually a 1930 Phantom II that starred in "The Yellow Rolls-Royce." PS - If you search the forum, you'll see that Harry P did his usual masterful job when he turned this kit into a woody shooting brake, replete with a pair of scratch-built Purdey shotguns.
  15. The 1/16 PIII has been issued by Revell, Entex, Anmark, Gunze Sangyo and others. For some reason, copying the IMG field from Photobucket is blocked to me, but you can find several images of models, and of the real car from which the kit was taken (painted gold) at the link below. Also includes a good shot of the Goldfinger car. http://s827.photobucket.com/user/sjordan47/library/ROLLS PHANTOM III e Bay modeler build?sort=3&page=1
  16. Several brands have boxed a 1/16 Phantom III with coachwork by Freestone & Webb (slightly different from the Goldfinger car). It would require removing the roof portion over the front seat. Very nicely detailed kit, often available on eBay (and often overpriced. Don't pay more than $50-$60).
  17. My problem in sending the PM was on my iPad; my desktop iMac tells me it worked.
  18. The only one I have have that's close to recent is Revell's Mercedes SLS AMG, issued in 2009 (I just had major envy this weekend when my brother showed me a picture of his new GT AMG, the 1:1). With only a few exceptions like the 1974 Jag XJ-S, various 300 SL models and the '62 Corvette, everything else is pretty much '30s classics.
  19. I have thought that could be one reason why Gerald Wingrove usually builds his superb creations in 1:15 -- he could never be accused of copying from other models or kits.
  20. I used to think that TV would homogenize regional accents, but it's never happened. Many years ago, when visiting my parents in Hong Kong, I was introduced to some friends of theirs -- Texans with very pronounced drawls, y'all; their little girls, however, had the most proper British accents -- they attended a British girls' school in HK.
  21. I'm trying to send you the answer, but it won't go through; says you can't receive messages.
  22. Makes you wonder. E. Bugatti insisted on a solid, straight front axle, and only grudgingly allowed a minor modification.
