  1. Hey Nitro...Your Willys really looks good, thats some beautiful candy red. Glad to see you got the window problems straightened out. Nice work, lookin' forward to seeing the Altered... Noname...is that the pick up from the old AMT Willys kit? Aloha...Pete
  2. Hey Alyn...didn't realize you'd finished this one already. Looks great, your vision of the "Outlaw in Gold" was right on. Looks good down there in your Sig...
  3. Another winner Alyn! The sedan looks great chopped and it really fits the roadster's chassis perfectly. I really like the detailing inside the body, matches the rest of the build. Got more pictures? ALoha...Pete
  4. That's too bad Nitro...Before shooting mine with Tamiya Clear Blue (rattlecan) I polished them with 3 M compund then wiped 'em down with isopropyl Alcohol. No issues with fisheyes... Hope you get it sorted out. Aloha...Pete
  5. Nitro...you're too modest. Well, the Ranchero is almost done. Finished up the clear (Krylon), polished it, BMF'd, and tinted the glass...still need to hook up fuel plumbing, set up a radiator, build a driveshaft, and rig up the chute. Thanks for lookin'....
  6. Bernard...Very Cool Hot Rod! Sounds like scrounging parts for this one was almost as intense as building a full size car. Great job. Aloha...
  7. Nitro...that Willys is lookin' great! Looks like it'll be done soon. Thanks for the comments on the Ranchero...they mean a lot coming from someone with your skills. I'm trying a lot things for the 1st time on the Ranchero. Here's my 1st try at making decals and clearing over them... Thanks for lookin'...Pete
  8. Dave...Thanks for sharring. They closed the Drag Strip here on Oahu about 3 years ago, so anytime I see pics like these it does the ol' ticker good. Thanks Again, Aloha...Pete
  9. Wow Randy...that is stunning! I like your build concept on this, looks vs detailing....if you don't get the stance, color, wheels, and tires right, all the detailing in the world won't save the model...you nailed it. This thing is just beautiful. Aloha...Pete
  10. NIce to see some action here... Foxer...I love your Comp Coupe, cool idea and very nice execution. Nitro...Can't wait to see the Altered! Your Willys is looking very clean...looking forward to seeing all that candy apple red. Noname...Nice Choice...haven't seen any other FXers so far. Definitely looks like a 65 Nova to these old eyes, nice choice on the W motor. I know what you mean 'bout gettin' those molded in wipers off, I did the samething on the Ranchero and it was a real pain. Here's a couple of more pics of the Ranchero, interior, suspension, and finally a little pearl blue paint. Thanks for lookin'...Pete

Nice lookin' Hot Rod Jim...I especially like the stance! Any pics of the engine? Aloha...Pete
  12. Batman I'd like to introduce to Richard...
  13. Hey Ryan...nice to see the extra pics of this. Everytime I look at it I see something new. The weathering is a little too realistic though, whenever I look at it I get the urge to go get some sandpaper, my paint gun, and give you a hand fixing it. Nice job...it truly is a work of ART! Aloha...Pete
  14. Hey Noturn...thanks for postin the other pic, nice shot, looks like a lot of scatch builing. I'm a little surprized this thread isn't a little busier , it started out like gangbusters. My build will be ficticious but period correct and reflect Southern California sponsorship. Here's a shot of some progress... Aloha...Pete
  15. Hey Gary...cool little Altered. I'm surprized we haven't seen one at the "Track" yet. Great Idea... Aloha...Pete
  16. Nice Altered Noturn...looks to be very period correct. How 'bout a few more shots? ALoha...Pete
  17. Alyn...Your work never ceases to amaze me. The bare fiberglass on the inside of the body was a cool idea! The gold looks so good I bet even Big Daddy Ed would like it! Aloha...Pete
  18. Hey Dennis...I'm new here and not an expert on cars from this era; but from what I've seen and read I believe you've really nailed a "very nice" late 40s style Hot Rod! I do have a question though....how'd you get Vern Tardel to help you with a model? Aloha...Pete
  19. Wow...nice work. It's amazing how nice this kit looks right out of the box. What color of blue did you use?
  20. 3men2s...what a great idea! I grew up in Central California, when I was a kid we hung out at Kingdon Dragstrip and made it out to Fremont and Sacramento when they had the "Big Boys" in town. I'd like to join in the fun...couldn't find a photo of exactly what I'd like to build; but is this close enough? Thanks...Pete
  21. All...Thanks again for the positive inputs, they mean a lot coming from the caliber of builders here. I'm looking forward to hangin' out here, I've at least a 100 or so ideas floating around in my head, I only wish my hands were as fast as my imagination. Alyn...it's a pleasure to see you here. Aloha...Pete
  22. Jerry...Luv that 39 4 door! Where'd the body come from? Aloha...Pete
  23. Thanks for commneting Guys...The 65 GTO Kit is a "turd" even when you take in to account its age. I really wish someone would offer a new tool of the 65 Goat, it's my favorite year Goat. Colby...the colors on the 5 window are Krylon "Navy Blue" and Krylon "Almond" on the wheels. The kit goes together very easily and quickly if you don't try to add a bunch of detail or fix the things "wrong" with it. Malibu...Glad you like the roadster, it's my favorite of the 3. Hopefully you'll see more soon, I've got 4/5 more in work. Hey Mustang...nice to see you're still around. Thanks again for lookin'...
  24. Well, as I said in my intro...been building just over a year and this what I've finished so far. AMT 65 GTO, curbside, C6 Vette wheels, and dropped. Monogram 32 Roadster, Wheels "n" Tires from revell 29 P/U, and induction from Monogram 30 Woody. AMT 32 5 window, flathead speed equip. from AMT 49 Ford, rear tires from Revell Thunderbolt, 4" channel and grill sectioned. Thanks for lookin'...
  25. Howzit…Joined the site a few weeks ago and figured it was time for an intro. I love cars in general, but really enjoy ol’ Hot Rods, nostalgia Drag Racing, and Tri 5 Chevys. Been building for just over a year this time around…started building models again due to the drag strip closure here on Oahu. Prior to this I built as a kid (over 40 years ago) and again (20 years ago) with my sons when they were little. I’m a member on a few different forums but thought I’d try something new. The skills displayed by many here are just unreal; I look forward to participating and hopefully with your advice improve my skills. Aloha…Pete
