  1. Lookin' Good Tim...really like the SBF with cross ram, don't see that Combo very often. Too nice to be a Rat! Aloha...Pete
  2. Thanks Tim!
  3. As requested earlier...outdoor pics.
  4. Very Cool Bill...Just picked this kit up the other day and was wondering how the new decals would look on the car...Thanks for sharing. The blue and orange are a good contrast, Nice work
  5. Guy...Great looking Pickup! Especially nice work on the detailing and decals. Love it! Aloha...Pete
  6. Dale....absolutely beautiful Willys. The changes you've made truly enhance what is already a really nice kit and the paint is excellent. Both the content and execution are very nice! Aloha...Pete
  7. Just a little "bump" so the Pick Up and Coupe could hang out together.
  8. Thanks Guys...these old kits may have their shortcomings but they sure are lot of fun to build and with a little care the results can be surprising. Tim...As soon as the sun comes out I'll get you a couple of outdoor shots. Snake....Both the Coupe and Pick Up required a little work to get the frontend to line up with the body. I installed the front ends and hinges prior to gluing the body to the chassis, cut off the body locating pins on the chassis, and then slid the body into place and lined it up with front end...used 5 minute epoxy to glue it down so I had time to move it around before the glue set. While the alignment isn't perfect it's a lot better than it was using the pins to locate the body. Aloha...Pete
  9. Howzit Guys…While I was building the latest version of the AMT 1940 Willys as a pick-up I liked the kit so much I went back to the local hobby shop to get a another kit to build as a Coupe! Thanks to Round 2 for bringing these old kits back form our childhood so we can build ‘em right this time! While the pick-up was built pretty much out the box tis one has some parts box pieces and aftermarket stuff. The decals are one of Slixx new Gasser mini sheets. The wheels are from AMT’s latest edition of the Chevy 62 Bel Air (Northwind stocker), The wheels have been widened. The blower scoop and rear tires are from a Revell SWC Willys. The Valve stems are pro tech. The paint is a custom mixed pearl burgundy over a black base with a lacquer clear covering it all Thanks for takin’ a look, Aloha…Pete
  10. Easy to see why these things are still so popular. Here's the Boss Nova with a few Mods. Just picked up the latest issues of the Mustang and Corvair, looking forward to adding them to the shelf.
  11. Aloha and Mele Kalikimaka from the 50th state!
  12. Ace...nice lookin' Vette. It looks so believable, the paint and decals, the stance, wheels n tires...it's all just right! Aloha...Pete
  13. Dang Chris...another great looking model! These old kits sure can be a lot of fun, I gotta' hurry up and crack the plastic on the AWB mustang I bought the other day. Who did the decals on this one? Aloha...Pete
  14. Great looking replica, the white car will make a good looking stablemate.
  15. Pretty cool Ray...nice job on the suspension and lengthing the frame, it sits just right! Aloha...Pete
  16. Great looking Funny Car. Nice job blending the different shades of green.
  17. Beautiful work, just enough detail to look very believable!
  18. Thank You to everyone that took time to comment over the past couple of days. I enjoyed building this so much I've already started building another one as a coupe. Aloha...Pete
  19. Chris...wonderful job building this classic kit...everything about it is so right. With all the oldies Round 2 is reissuing maybe we'll see more of these soon!
  20. Really nice Chris...great job on the paint and decals.
  21. Hey Kevin....Yup, all the decals except the little red guy on the tailgate are from the kit. Hope you're stayin' warm!
  22. Guido...same wheels and tires as the parts pack come with the latest issue of the kit. Thanks to all for commenting...
  23. Carl...except for the little red guy on the tailgate all the decals are in the box. Brandon..the 2nd and 3rd picture were taken outside, it wasn't real sunny that day but the pearl is a little more pronounced in those pics. Thanks...Pete
  24. Thanks Chris...I ran the body under hot water and worked the fenders till they lined up a little better with the tilt frontend. I saw your truck and it looks nice, I like the color you used.
  25. This is AMT's latest reissue of the 1940 Wiilys 2 'N' 1 kit built 100% out the box except for one decal on the tailgate. Base color is Krylon Peek a Boo Blue, followed by a thin coat of pearl blue flip flop, and some urethane clear to seal it all. This was a favorite kit when I was a kid and it still builds pretty much hassle free after all these years. The kit builds into a pretty nice model with a little work...it does need some tweaking here and there but doesn't need a lot of additional detailing to look good sitting on the shelf. The new wheels and tires included in this issue are a big improvement compared to the old ones. All in all, a fun build with a whole bunch of nostalgia thrown in. Thanks for takin' time to have a look. Aloha...Pete
