  1. I've heard the story on why..........but I'll wait and see if the person speaks up.........
  2. Rode from LA to WV twice in Dad's 70 Econline Club Wagon.....it was the long WB.......good vehcle...will watch your build!
  3. Edit title of OP to say AUTOMOTIVE if that's the case..............it does say obscure.........
  4. My spin on this kit........ The kit is a direct reissue of the last '72-73' legacy AMT Mustang kit. In my opinion it is a real mixed bag of parts. Lots of parts......some you need....many you do not. This tooling has been cut up and re-arranged so many times.......it's kinda a mess. It is not a BAD kit....just neither fish nor fowl. It's not a pure race car.....it's not a showroom kit. So R2 made the best of a bad situation......I bought one kit...only to support the effort. There are much better kits to build a Tope car from. The tires are cool....but again not 100% correct....just nice tires. Decals are a re-pop of the original. Again a updated improved set would have been nice. Earlier in this thread someone said this kit could make a nice short track car. I have used it to build a few. Simple builds for the shelf......far from a contest build. The Stick Elliott car that I saw run in the Charlotte area. Dale Earnhardt Sr also drove the car a few times. The Tope kit with it's soft molding and iffy grille area work well for these type cars!!! This build is from the legacy MPC version of the '72-73' Mustang that has a MUCH better race version. It's built up on the chassis with a GOOD roll cage and not random bars like the AMT kit I like this kit better in all areas. I also used the MPC to build a repro of the AMT Box art Tope car.....which was nothing like the real car!!!! A Tamiya rally driver was used for Warren and Penngwen decals used. I kinda wish R2 had used the MPC kit to make this 'new' Tope kit.....but I guess they wanted to make a repro of the original Tope kit.
  5. Dave, this is a clean build ! Revell does include Swivel-seats, other choices were bench seats. I love these cars, please Revell, release some other big 70's models !!! Thanks sir......I meant I didn't make them swivel.....I've seen guys to that!!!! I too would LOVE a 77 Thunderbird, Grand Prix and Cutlass........
  6. Nice build.....I like the wheel covers! This is a great kit really. I have used it to build NASCAR cup race cars and stock versions. This is a build I did of a buddy's car he bought new. He saved all his cash to buy it. It had the swivel seats....but I didn't replicate them. Very simple basic build.
  7. Don't forget the Moebius 1954 Hudson's in two body styles, 65 Plymouth all due early this year too.
  8. We raced a Holman & Moody built Datsun 240 in SCCA back in the late 70's and early 80's. I'll be watching this!
  9. THANKS TIM for all that info......
  10. Not 100% correct......but about as much work I want to put into it. 99.9% will not notice the errors!!
  11. Love them all.........send any not wanted to me for staorage!!
  12. I had to buy one.....now to build it!!!! Very nice job on yours!
  13. That may have trapped some things weeks ago (before Christmas) but since then shisp have been re-routed to the MANY open ports. I had a master case of Hudson kits labeled 'Portland' IIRC.......
  14. WOW!! I like Bee Gee, Betty and movie models. And though different than the Bee Gee in the film Rocketeer.....a very cool build.
  15. I was able to friction fit the entire front suspension together and do mock ups......and this was without any instructions!!! Well engineered kit.
  16. I built some early test shots......the build of the chassis and engine drive train is the new state of the art. IMHO only....
  17. Very nice work......I like the 'work truck' over a dressed up show truck we see so often.
  18. I'm sure the 'Design Engineer' will require you to be on the expert level of 3-D CAD system of some type. That's why they are having to advertise the position. And....yes...there are folks here that are on that level....but but they are not in Chicago or have very good paying jobs doing that already.....it's a somewhat hot position today. Hope they get someone good.
  19. NICE...I have one put back....need to build....
  20. WELL worth the wait.......I saw it at Toledo show....
  21. Spotted this last April at the Charlotte 50th show........
  22. Looks good......a front on shot???
