  1. Thanks Y'all! More to come!
  2. Very Cool Rod there Raul! Love how you the hinged hood and raised up them fugly headlights!
  3. Danno, although I love this car, being laid off has me scrambling for funds at times. If I can swing it, I may just pop for this resin wonder, I never dreamed that it would be such a complete kit! Thanks so much for sharing! BTW, what type of glue do you use to assemble a resin kit??
  4. I gotta admit that most of these show rods look absolutely absurd! I guess that's why they are so much fun to build, . The beer wagon looks cool with your changes!!
  5. Took the Paddy Wagon kit, shortened and lowered it to give it a bit better stance, cut out the jail bars and installed windows on the sides, used Deora headrests for the injector scoops, carved out the radiator grillwork to just leave the shell, made the radiator ornament clear glass, Made up some aluminum tubing headers, gave the slicks whitewalls, Testors One Coat Laquer and a few coats of Future. Voila! A strange rod indeed!
  6. Great Job on the re-do and I love the coffee table!
  7. Smooth looking flopper there! Cant wait to see the finished project!
  8. just set the food on the small deck piece behind the roll bar!
  9. Wow, thank you very much! Now.......you can always build one yourself......
  10. I would just leave the part(s) in the Purple Pond overnight. It has always worked for me on Testors Enamel. But it won't work on Testors Lacquer aT all.
  11. WOW!! Now that's a clever idea!!
  12. Sometime ya just gotta go thru the motions. I have builds that have been more of a pain than a pleasure (don't EVEN go there) , but they kept me busy during a layoff. And.....Again....cookies are on the table by the door next to the coffee maker, help yourselves!
  13. Ya know Mark, I coulda really kitbashed the thing to make it a plausable car, but the only thing that would have stayed from the kit would be the parachute pack (and I'm even on the fence about that!) So, yep, I gotta agree with ya, and I wouldn't have bought the kit at regular price....... .....paid 6 bucks.....but it was a fun excercise.
  14. Pretty interesting build. Strange color scheme...but it kinda works for me. I really love the mudflaps!
  15. Quite right.......but I was more looking for various opinions on an open ended question. The responses were all genuine, valid and in some cases, very concise. The opinions will help me in future kit choices. There were points made about the build that I had not even considered. All in all, the kit was pretty inexpensive on close out and the Stingaree kit has flaws, but in my opinion it was meant by AMT to be more of a fantasy build than anything else. I mean, who in their right mind would build a real funny car with just a basic roll bar?! If the kit was based on a real car, I have never seen it and it probably wouldn't have run too fast(if at all)
  16. The battery came with the kit Harry, I just built it per the instruction sheet. But, you are probably right!
  17. cookies are on the table next to the coffee, help yourself!
  18. When you assemble the front frame area, make sure that the part holding the axle assembly is at a slight downward angle so that the frame don't rest on the ground like mine. Can't wait to see your version!
  19. Ya know......... I was thinking about a bubble top , but ya gotta have a body to put it on, LOL! I guess I've become known for the bubble tops anyway . Could look cool with the angel hair, a turntable and lots of mirrors on the undercarriage (if it was detailed enough)!
  20. No test.....no point.....just a fun post.
  21. Ok gang, the kit was box stock build of an AMT Stingaree with a few modifications. First.....yes the slicks are thicker toward the frame. If I sanded them to be absolutely flat, there would be no tire left at the frame, that is how bad they were. Then, yes the front tires have a slight seam showing, to me, not a big deal. Yes it has a battery. And...the fuel cell is in the frame in front of the engine. The roll bar was scratch made and yes is too low to provide any protection. The frame is resting on the ground, again this is due entirely to assembly per kit instructions. The headers in real life would be pretty useless, but I drilled the ends out anyway to make em look somewhat functional. The body, sort of a vette funny car would never have fit on the model if assembled per the instructions, I didn't like it anyway so I left it off. Detailing such as wiring, plumbing and instrument panel detail has been left off as I never do those anyway. The steering wheel that came with the kit, literally in scale would be smaller than a normal butterfly wheel. So I took one from another kit. Driver would have to be flat to fit in the seat due to the wheel. I could have adjusted a few things to make it look more like an altered....nah..... Almost all of your answers are correct for the most part. But, ya know what, I still think it looks kinda cool myself and it was a fun kit to build despite all it's drawbacks. And it's metallic green cause I wanted to finish off the rattle can! Thanks and good eyes guys!! :)
  22. Is that shifter the same as a "Planetary" system? I think named for the look of a bunch of planets in a row......
