I don't buy many new kits, have way too many projects already, but I had to grab one of these. The first new truck I bought as a work truck was a 1975 Ford van like this except it had a 6 cylinder.

Great looking model, Awesome paint job.

I made no threat. There is no 1st amendment on this forum, they have very right to delete any post for any reason. My suggestion to you, lighten up on the fiber and quit spreading the BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH that those fans are safe for paint booths!

Still working on getting the new room set up.

That turned out great Jim. I still need to do something with my styrene tube, have more of it than the brass, lol. What did the cost come out to be for 78 tubes? I have wasted space behind the door so I may just hang them??? Thanks for sharing that. AzTom

The National Fire Protection Association if far from unbased. The NFPA is the world standard for codes when it comes to fire, including the National Electrical code. They do real fact based research, not I used mine for umpteen years and nothing happened. Any post suggesting it is safe to use bath fans or cheap hood fans for paint fume removal should be deleted from all forums. I am surprised this forum takes the liability risk to allow such dangerous "How To's" to be posted here. I am happy to say I have not seen a bath fan explode while being used as a paint booth, and don't want to see it. BUT, I have seen hundreds of burnt bath and kitchen hood fans, some did severe damage to the home, most just scorched the housing. Even the most uneducated person should be able figure out what would happen if paint fumes were passing through the fan when the motor fails. I am NOT against anyone building their own paint booth, just use the CORRECT fan. In reality you should be able to buy a squirrel cage fan for what three bath fans cost to get the same CFM.

I just found that the MM seems to flow smoother leaving less brush marks, usually none at all. The MM spray covers better with thin coats. I've had some Testors rattle cans that didn't want to cover sharp ridges on models after a few coats. The MM bottle paint is only.02 more per ounce than the 1/4 oz bottles to buy. I have also had great luck with MM acrylics as well. Welcome to the Model Car World, Mike. AzTom

You have every right to gamble on your own safety, but please consider family that my be affected. Here is a good read on bath fans. Bath fans are the cause of many fires when being used for the purpose they were made for. Add flammable fumes and guess what could happen. http://www.electrical-forensics.com/Motors/BathroomFans/BathroomFans.html I have replaced hundreds of burnt fans over the years, most just scorching the inside of the housing. I know for a fact if those had paint fumes running through them it would have been disasterous. NFPA Fact Sheet: http://www.nfpa.org/assets/files/PDF/AC_fan_fact_sheet.pdf Fans Fans in 2006-2010 were involved in an average of 3,880 home fires per year, resulting in an average of 13 civilian deaths, 130 civilian injuries, and $77 million in direct property damage. Portable fans were involved in one-quarter (23%) of the fan fires, 82% of the fan deaths, and 47% of the fan injuries. Half (52%) of the stationary fan fires started in the bathroom, while nearly half (45%) of the portable fan fires started in the bedroom. Very Sad! He will be missed. Here's a couple of great models he had at the 2012 contest.

I disagree with the above statement that they are the same. Model Masters is a far better paint than the Testors line in most cases from my experience. AzTom

New "COUPE " from Galaxie ltd ?
AzTom replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have three of the sedan deliveries, so I could build one of each year, and two of the sedans. Although these are not built yet I would add three of the coupes to the collection for sure. AzTom -
Thanks Richard. I think I have eight of these Willys stashed away for future builds, lol. I'm thinking of converting one to a pickup. Here is a repaint, Plum Crazy from a few years ago. And one with the chrome removed. Tom

Jim, I have drawer organizers in some of the tool box drawers that I put the cut pcs in. I do the same with short pieces of styrene. I got my rack together and so far I think it's going to work just fine. I need to find my Angles and channels yet but I emptied 104 boxes into it so far and still have plenty of room. I found an old office rack for the large sheets. Tom

I've always gone on Thursday, More cars and less people. It's also only $18.00 instead of the $40.00 on Saturday. I missed last year so I'll probably go again this year, it is an awesome experience. -
These are great models, as all of the DCP items are. You did a great job on the weathering.

Here is a door latch I came up with to hold the doors shut after adding realistic door hinges.

Well, Due to a move I needed to come up with something to get set up again. While at Walymart I saw these wire shelves. I mounted one upside down on a piece of plywood and then set one right side up over it. It has 160+ spaces so I'm hoping that will do all of the metal stock. I made a copy of the squares on paper to lay out the shapes and sizes so I can write the sizes on the plywood for each space. I'll keep you posted on how this works out.

The items on here are amazing! This is my second project made from brass. It is a copy of the real Autotwirler. The 1/18 diecast car was modified to be a body shell. The body rotisserie is all scratch built from brass.

Awesome Job! I've always liked these cars, they have that Ugly Cool look.

I hate running out of stuff. Most of the time I never know what size I want until I get started on a project and visually see what looks good. Here is my sheet goods holder.

I'm hoping to come up with something as well. I currently have mine in tool box drawers in there original boxes. The problem here is the brass and aluminum takes up four drawers. The styrene takes up two large drawers. I'm thinking of the upright rack but out of thin plywood with square holes. Keep the good ideas coming!

These are my favorites as well. This is the Willys I did with realistic door hinges a few years ago. Complete build: http://public.fotki.com/aztom/toys--models/die-cast-118-cars--/118-custom-diecast/custom-1941-willys/ AzTom Where in Ohio are you? I'm from NE Ohio

Some very well made stuff on here. I just recently started scratch building stuff from brass. Here is a class III hitch and receiver I made as my first project.
