  1. That's GM's thing these days. Thats why the new pickups look so bad too.
  2. That was FoMoCo's answer to a cheap windshield washer fluid reservoir. I have a sweet spot for these cars. I love this build. I am currently building a nostalgia themed drag car in 1:1 out of a 65 Comet. You think the headers are difficult to fit on the model... try installing them on the real thing.
  3. That's neat. When I saw the show as a kid they were using Chevettes too.
  4. Nope, you could get a 198 cid slant six...
  5. Nick you’re contradicting yourself here... why mention that this truck came with "A/C Delete" and then add more A/C parts? Just seems goofy to say this truck came with A/C delete like that’s a big deal and then not delete the A/C on the model. You do know that A/C delete would have meant this truck wasn’t offered with air conditioning right? Other nit picks... the paint is not very smooth. Other than than it seems like an interesting build
  6. If the Siera ST had "AC Delete" why is there a big R4 compressor on the model?
  7. One thing about it Dillon, all of the "problems" are very fixable. If you polish the side of the car with some "swirl mark remover" it will take the chrome paint right off and polish the red and white. Then take whale392's advice and mask the the edges of the trim so that when you repaint it you get a nice crisp line.
  8. I agree, how much $ did it take to make the small engine produce that horse power? The only thing that beats cubic inches is cubic dollars...
  9. What stands out to me is how sloppy the painting of the side trim is. Also the verticle portion of the side trim leans toward the front of the car and on the real car it leans toward the back. The rest of the paint looks good but the side trim is truely awful.
  10. That is the best build of that car I have ever seen.
  11. Thanks, Here are some pictures of what I had to do to make the wheels fit.
  12. Thanks for the complements guys
  13. Thanks for all the complements guys.
  14. Maybe instead of representing a R4 series compressor like the one in the picture above it is supposed to be an A6 see attached, with the high side muffler? It still looks like a starter motor with a solenoid though... ? The lump should (solenoid looking part) be silver if it is the muffler, If it supposed to be the oil reservoir it should be on the bottom. The compressor in this picture is positioned upside down. I am glad Jimmy got banned. You are doing a fine job Nick.
  15. That looks perfect. I love this kind of race car.
  16. Very clean, it looks great.
  17. Thanks guys. I took some pictures outside today just to try to show how great the color looks in the light. I really like the way this one turned out. It was kind of an experiment.
  18. Sorry my reply was so harsh Monte... Sorry to insert some silly drama into your thread Brett. Your right about not being able to see it anyway. Looking forward to seeing this one underglass
  19. Thank you very much for the compliments. I didn’t know if anyone would catch the abused rear tires. I need to clean more of the lent off before I take the pictures out side.
  20. Hi John, after seeing this Pro-Mod build and some others I have noticed that the front ends are usually stretched and the body is widened. I live in Kansas so I have only seen the NHRA Summer Nationals in Topeka and they don’t run the Pro-Mods at that event so I have never seen them in person. My question is, are they a set wheel base and width per the rules? It seems like a lot of body mods are needed to make an accurate representation of one of these cars. This going to be a gorgeous car, the XKE looks good as any type of race car.
  21. Museum quality. You are the best I've ever seen John.
  22. This is the AMT 1967 Shelby Mustang GT350 kit. I have been collecting different parts in order to make this a GT500. The engine is a dual four carbureted 427 with aluminum heads. I scratch made the Shelby under-rider traction bars and the 2.5†exhaust with the X pipe. The headers are from a NASCAR kit. The wheels and a lot of the engine parts are from the 427 Cobra kit. The front suspension is painted to look like red urethane bushings were used. The interior has a lot of parts from the 68 GT500 kit, like the over head and floor consoles. The kit only comes with the "rear seat up" option so I scratch made the parts needed make it look folded down. I painted most of it with flat and semi-gloss Krylon and flocked it with dark gray. The paint is kind of a reverse Eleanor thing. I used Krylon “Oil Rubbed Bronze†as the base color and Dupli-Color “Seattle Silver†for the Lemans stripes. I hope to take some out side pictures this weekend.
  23. That looks great Mike, maybe trying to apply the film while using the floor of a barber shop as a bench wasn't your best choice... Submarining the stuff in soapy water seems to be the ticket here, I'm gonna' try it myself.
  24. When they displayed it at the Darryl Starbird car show at Century II arena in Wichita KS it had the ralley wheels like the put on the 71 Chevelles. Great job on a very famous car!!!!
