  1. That's awesome. I love the engine on this one.
  2. Great job Ken. Very clean build as usual and great execution.
  3. The interior is spot on.
  4. Thanks guys. I used Sharpies first Steve and it was a little straighter but I didn't like how shiny it was. I used testers "rubber" which is flat and not a pure black. I used to be able to paint a pin stripe on my models but my by-focals and hands aren't as steady anymore... It doesn't look as crisp but I really like the way the window trim on the 300SL is imbedded in the rubber gasket and I wanted that look on the model.
  5. That was my inspiration Shay.
  6. This was fun kit. For its age and that it's an AMT kit it really is a great kit. It's not Tamiya but has a ton of parts and lots of detail. If you can pick one up I recommend the kit. The wheels are from the Revell 99 Mustang Cobra kit. The tires are from a Tamiya 88 911 Turbo kit. The engine is from a Tamiya BMW 635i. Paint is Duplicolor. Decals are parts box. Scratch made roll bar coated with AlClad II Chrome. PE seat belts and brake rotors. BMF window trim with shaky hand painted rubber gaskets.
  7. Nick, its 14.75" by 3.75" Bird, yes and no. I painted the truck Ford Wimbledon White but it was too cream colored so I used Chrysler Bone White. The base darkened the Bone. On the Mustang I painted the Bone over the white primer and it was lighter. Thanks for the compliments guys.
  8. Thanks guys. I am not sure Nick. I will measure it when I get home from work tonight and let you know.
  9. Fun AMT kit that has been recently re-released and a Revell 70 Mustang with a duel quad 427 from a Thunderbolt kit and some after market decals It's been a couple of years since I have worked on anything, this was fun.
  10. Cool idea. Nice work. Tech won't let you race at the track though. You can't run the fuel line down the driveshaft tunnel.
  11. Looks good. Too bad they didn't clean up that mold line on the bumper before they re-plated it.
  12. Pictures of the 1 to 1 ?
  13. Nice, that looks just like the one I am restoring
  14. That is a lot of work. That's a true model for sure. You have a lot of patience and vision. (2250 cc's would be 137 ci)
  15. I wouldn't worry about painting the hot air tube black since the firewall, radiator top mount plate, fender liners and core support are all body color. Clean build, nice job.
  16. Yes the FF chassis worked great. I just had to cut the front cross member out and make a u shaped one to let me put the Chevy engine with the rear sump pan in.
  17. Nice start. I couldn't find any Eleanor wheels so I used the Halibrands from the Revell Cobra kit on mine.
  18. Looks pretty good for "eye ball" engineering. Takes a little more craftsmanship than machining everything.
  19. Great stuff.
  20. I am sure the new ones will look great Dave. As much work as you have in this build I'm glad you are going to redo the front wheels. Looking forward to more pictures.
  21. The wheels look very sharp. Looks like the front on the left has necked spokes near the rim. Is it supposed to be that way?
  22. Clone?
