  1. Thanks Art. Are those pictures posted anywhere?
  2. Any news on the release of the 65 Comet. I am so ready for it. I am a little emotionally invested...
  3. Thanks guys, I started this build with a kit molded in red and couldn't stop the red from bleeding through to the white. Tim provided a body molded in white and Ricky provided a Hemi engine and Shay provided headers and the roll bar
  4. Revell o gram kit with help from Tim, Ricky and Shay to get it finished. Slixx decals and Duplicolor paint
  5. Really superb work. I hope you find a better source for wheels. While wires are the way to go with this one, the poor quality of the kit wheels takes away from the awesome work you are doing.
  6. Good point. Wasn't there a time when as long as it maintained stock wheel base, glass location, the max engine size, and naturally aspirated...the rest was fair game ? The good ole days...
  7. No I didn't but since this spot is for drag models completed and wip I will post some.
  8. That is really cool. Looks almost like burl wood.
  9. Thanks guys. I added some sheet stock to raise up the kit scoop. The headers are a some modified NASCAR headers with some tube added and blended with some spot putty. They aren't perfect but the kit only comes with stock exhaust manifolds and that just won't get it done. It's a tight fit with the Boss engine. I am pretty sure the primaries come around the front of the lower control arms and under the front suspension on the real cars. Like the Johan Comet/Maveric, but I wasn't able to find a reasonable source for those headers so I took some artistic liberties with my engineering..
  10. Wow, great work. I am gearing up for a similar build with a 62 Bel Air. I will be watching this one for tips.
  11. The pro stock number usually was where you finished in points the year before if it said like PRO 1, PRO 2 OR PRO 3. I don't think the higher numbers represent anything other than the number your car/driver is registered as.
  12. I am calling this one done. It's a Revell 70 Boss Mustang with a Revell 66 Chevelle prostreet rear chassis grafted on. Wheels from one of the Revell ProMod kits and then parts box tires and decals. Paint is DupliColor. I tried to paint my own class numbers on the windshield instead of using a decal and I didn't like it. So I used some paint thinner to wipe it off and the windshield cracked. I knew better than this but had forgotten about paint thinner (mineral spirits) and clear plastic. It won't dull it or haze it but it makes it very susceptible to cracking. We found that out at the school bus factory I used to work for. We had a rash of clear dash lenses cracking, we found out the detail techs where using paint thinner to wipe the some areas of the dash that had overspray on them and wiping the lenses too. Made them crack. I know I am rambling but just trying to share the info.
  13. Thanks for props guys.
  14. Nice job. I just finished one of these kits up myself.
  15. Gorgeous, I am wanting to build one of these, why did it take two kits? .
  16. Wow that is beautiful
  17. That was the inspiration. I saw a picture of that car in an add in the back of a Hot Rod or Car Craft magazine years ago.
  18. Very crisp and clean work. It looks great so far.
  19. Very clean build. Awesome black paint.
  20. Super paint and detail work.
  21. Super job on all the added racing details. It looks great all around.
  22. Looks like it came from the factory. Nice work.
