  1. Beautiful!!! I absolutely love the color...it looks GREAT!! '66 & '67 Novas are my ALL TIME favorite cars and I really hope to own one (1:1), one of these days! I also, IMHO, think they are THE hottest looking car out there for the "Slammed and Tubbed" treatment. Thanks for sharing this beauty with us, Bryan!
  2. Imagine him turning it back in like that!
  3. Absolutely OUTSTANDING!!! This is one mean lookin' Chevelle! I love it! Never woulda thought this was once a glue bomb. Do you play bass, by chance?
  4. LOL... yeah, those do a GREAT job of sandblasting the front of the hood! Maybe this guy is a huge MCM fan, who saw our post-apoc. build and decided to build a 1:1??
  5. I'm totally speechless!!! Absolute MASTERPIECE, John! WOW!!!
  6. AWESOME! I REALLY love where this is headed and will be waiting in excitement for updates! Ya know, I always (kinda) felt bad for the toy cars that are bought just to have the wheels robbed off of them and thrown out... I think it's really cool to see TWO awesome projects come out of the toy!
  7. VERY, VERY COOL!!! Awesome build! love the details... Excellent paint, great work on the body, and the wheels look perfect on her! p.s. (not tryin' to come across as nit-picky, but double check those valve covers... )
  8. Clean & Mean! I love it!
  9. That's what I was thinking! [media=]http://youtu.be/YRIEFEKA1Qs "The jaws are open... and the head is in!! Chomp! Ahhhhhhhh!!!"
  10. I pretty much agree with Charlie on this one, Can't see ya going wrong with a light Tan or or Gray interior with any shade of Blue on the outside. A darker interior color may look a little "off"...unless it's black, of course.
  11. Wow! Judging by the '62 that you've recently posted, I have a feeling that I should definitely be watching this build! Kinda looks like a Transformers turning into "robot" mode. heh Pretty darn cool! LOL, guess we were kinda thinkin' the same!
  12. AWESOME Build!! Very clean and great color combo! I love this model "to death"... hehe
  13. I think exactly the same thing! REALLY COOL looking! I really like how you painted the wheel centers. edit: any chance we can see the underside? I'm dying to see what you did with that! I'm working on 2 of these kits right now - One as a kind of lower budget street/strip and the other will be something like a 10.5" tire 25.5 spec car that "shouldn't" be on the street, but will have lights, wipers and license plates... hehe
  14. SERIOUSLY, John!!! Man, you do some absolutely STUNNING work! I know this might sound a bit funny, but, I LOVE the way the slicks look on your drag cars! They look 100% real every time. I've never really painted tires until I saw some of your stuff. I'm nowhere near yours, but my tires are always looking so much better with each new try. It's amazing what even just some dull-cote lacquer out of a can does for them. Thank you for sharing all of your awesome builds and being a true "role model" for me! This Camaro looks INCREDIBLE!!! Thanks again for sharing!
  15. I dunno, Harry.... I have an article where these things were tested extensively on 3 different cars. Average net hp gains were as follows: 3"x6" porthole = 7 hp 3"x6" chrome emblem = 5.3 hp 3"x6" vinyl decal= 7.3 hp Remember, these tests were done in a controlled environment and measured in "visual horsepower" The really interesting thing though- as more decals were added, the visual horsepower rating seemed to gain exponentially, whereas the port holes and chrome were more of a linear type of progression. Unfortunately, I don't have the numbers from that part of the test... Seems my dog ate the second page from it.
  16. For those, I use a drill bit...1/4" or so (or about twice the size of the "stud".) Center up the bit in the axle hole, using it as a pilot, and lightly turn the bit by hand. Let the bit do the work. You don't want to remove the material too quickly or have the bit start digging in and gouging the plastic. If done lightly and with some patience, it will shorten the studs without losing the hole in the middle.

Wow, James... I LOVE IT!!!! Beautiful in EVERY way! Wouldn't change a thing.
  18. Yep, definitely hate when those things happen! I've had a few come off the desk and come real close, but thankfully never hit my foot. Reminds me of my friend, Jack (a carpenter). He was opening up a window frame with a sawzall, and pulled the saw back a bit too far... It hit the wall, shot straight down and PINNED his foot to the plywood floor! Went "dead center" through his foot. YEE-OWCH! I HAD to take this picture, because I cut my thumb so bad one time, I was literally losing this amount of blood every 5-6 seconds: ...Of course this was taken after I cleaned the wound and wrapped it up pretty tight! Those x-acto blades are NO JOKE. Gotta be super-duper careful... and then some!! I have gotten a lot better recently though (as far as accidents go). I seriously treat those blades as if I'm working with a table saw, band saw, etc... PLEASE, BE CAREFUL GUYS & GALS!!!
  19. Really Awesome job as always! LOVE those Luminas! One of my favorite periods of NASCAR ever. I still remember counting the days as a kid waiting for "Days of Thunder" to hit our local video rental store.
  20. That is one really cool Willys! Really looking forward watching you build this one, John. Gonna be a masterpiece for sure!
  21. Thanks Brian! I might end up giving that one to my dad... Every time he comes over to visit, he HAS to play with it! LOL Yeah, they do have a TON of new pieces now. We (Emily and I) have a lot of the new "City" themed sets, and they are REALLY COOL! All of the vehicles look a ton more realistic than they did in the 80's and early 90's... "Old" vs "New" Two of my favorite "Old School" Lego rides: Greg, that Rifle is AWESOME!!! It's amazing the stuff that some people can do! Man, I love being alive! :)
  22. I don't think it's crazy, as long as you have a roof over your head, healthy food to eat and the bills are getting paid. It's a hobby that you love! I've spent twice that amount on one bare cylinder head for our 2.3l turbo Mustang!
  23. Legos were my life!! When I was a kid, I thought I would never, EVER stop playing with them every day! I did stop though... once I became interested in girls and cars. LOL However, fast forward to about 2 years ago... I wanted my daughter to experience the same fun I had, so I went to my parents and brought home some old boxes full of pieces. She really took a major liking to them (and so did I... again!). We have so many new sets now, it drives my wife nuts! Here's one I threw together recently: (the Tractor Pull thread in the truck section made me think of it...) My daughter and I have a great time playing together with these and I think they're a great "hands on" educational toy. I learned a ton when I was a kid about gear ratios, different types of electrical circuits, etc... from the "Technic" sets. I agree, they are a bit on the pricey side, but they are made really well.
  24. Wow, Mark!! You REALLY did an Outstanding job of reproducing that race car! I've never seen anything like that around here... It definitely looks like "Rubbin's Racin" down in your neck of the woods!
  25. Couldn't sum it up better myself! I think I have more WIPs than there are Galaxies in the observable universe!
