  1. That Suburban has a lot of possible applications if it wern't for the diecast crappy metal body.... Why can't the industry make thinner bodies? The heavy metal shell is just too heavy for the plastic structure underneath so they beef it up to the point that it looks like a toy! Sorry for the rant. I like the Suburban....
  2. Is it just me or do these bikes seem to ride too high? Choppers should rider a lot lower and my bike will be cut right down to Terra Firma! Nice start on that street rod. The use of a 3 window instead of a 5 was probably not your choice but I think it's a better one. NOW, get it done!
  3. unkljune, I need more information on what you are asking please... and could you also put your first and last name in the signature box of the Profile section. Thank you!
  4. Grrreeeeegggggggggg.....!
  5. Welcome Don! Always in need another consumer of Russian drinking water on this board...
  6. Hey guys... what about a "Biker Build Off"???? 8)
  7. And don't put on too much Alclad either! The base coat is what will make the chrome look like CHROME. Poor base coat = poor chrome. Good smooth black base coat and a just a thin fogged coat of Alclad looks the most realistic.
  8. What? You want to live forever?
  9. Soooperdave, Sorry but I did that one for a customer and the car is gone. Didn't take pictures of the chassis but it was an inline drive 4 rail brass chassis with a solid drop. Motor is a Mubachi with a champion shim, tradeship endbell and some powerful arm I was not too sure about. The builder did a nice job except for the pink Parma ring gear and guide... Dave, could I get you to post your first and last name in the Profile section of this forum please? Thank you!
  10. Welcome Marcos, happy to have you aboard!
  11. Don came to GSL last year... you could have met him there, he came with Roger Harney of Revell fame. Really do not know if he is still building. Nice quiet guy was really impressed with the Model Car Museum! 8)
  12. Sooooo how do you know about "Numbass"? That's a secret!!!!
  13. If they are "in-scale" then they are definitely models!
  14. That is really nice Andy! Any chance you could submitt some pictures and a write up to Model Cars Magazine? I'll PM you...
  15. Wow, everybody should have a vacuum chamber for resin casting.... Actually, nice bench.
  16. I have always considered aluminum tube can be cut to various lengths and built up to represent billet parts. Used it once but your Mag is quite a bit nicer! Great "how-to" trick, thank you for posting!
  17. Your quite welcome!
  18. Tom Daniel couldn't do any better! Love it so far....
  19. If female, must have hair?
  20. Dave, I don't know how you did it but thank you for posting Glen's pics. I tried and tried to fix his posting, even copied and pasted your posting into his message and it still didn't work... So, things will stay as they are. Glen, nice start on that truck and I look forward to seeing future progress on this project. As for posting pictures, please read the instructions Gregg posted for additional pictures. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1356 Thank you, Jairus
  21. Ben, welcome aboard the fastest growing scale model forum on the planet. (too much?) By the way, could I get you to put your last name in the signature box found in the profile section of this forum. This is so we all know who to buy a beer when we meet you at the next show...
  22. Now that is pretty cool looking! Like the detailing and wires you added. Plus you made it your own by making subtle modifications. Way to go!
  23. No offense against MonoPed's point of view but if your plan is to build a replica or correct period street machine then the two engineering wonders never met! The Columbia two-speed and a quick-change center section were never put together due to the placement of the pinion gear. However, if you are building a what-if car... then I happen to agree, GO FOR IT! Here are some plumbing diagrams:
