Well now, that is pretty cool! I love that you went with the early '69 "C" stripes instead of the overused '70 style! 3 thumbs up!!!!
  2. While I agree with the O.P. on most what he said... I found Chuck Doan's "Diecast Do-over" Fordson tractor weathering article to be the most interesting. Fantastic processes and looks so real to me that I had to convince myself that I was looking at a little model! The work done to that toy is nothing short of miraculous incorporating scratch-building, stripping and a ton of weathering. I have read the article twice and think I am ready to do a tractor myself! Very impressive Chuck!
  3. Ahwwwww shucks, twern't nothing. Just trying to - PAY THE DARNED BILLS!
  4. 100% tho I figured I would suck on the Mopar stuff.
  5. Hey, that's pretty cool. Never would have thought of that...
  6. Nice paint boss!
  7. Very creative and showy! I like it.
  8. The bulk of the cars finished in this contest were completed by members of Scale Auto Builders Association. 10 showed up at the 21st NNL. If you are a member of Facebook, click on the link. I have no idea why more did not come from this forum. Over 50 entries were handed out and for two months last year I was answering questions and pointing builders in the right direction for most of those entries. I know of at least 2 finished builds that could have competed but didn't and more than 10 entries here were started but not finished. (Read back in the thread to see for yourself!) I didn't get my build finished either due to personal reasons so I can't complain too much. It is what it is.
  9. Very nice job modifying the Fujimi kit! I love that one and have built a couple myself. However, here is a nice Monogram version I built up using the same windshield.
  10. Feb-March issue hit my mailbox on Wednesday. Looks GREAT!
  11. Very nice Mike!
  12. Is there a "LIKE" button? Because I want one... I like the above post! Way to go ART!
  13. Wow, with the negative posts here, I am sure glad my name is not on the box art.... Just saying!
  14. You are kidding, right? You really looked? With 300+ pages of stuff to look through I figure you didn't look very far since this thread idea comes up about 5 times a year. Suppose this one will get the same half-dozen pages of obscure and weird requests as usual. (Bet at least someone asks for a "B" body Chevy... yet again.) However, carry on!
  15. These are indeed correct V12's, the first a 5 litre and the second 3. The Ferrari boxer 12 first appeared in F1 and Can-Am cars about 1970 but didn't hit the production line until the 512BB 1976. Fujimi has a nice kit of one and of course the Testarossa "cheese grater" car became mainstream when one appeared in the TV series "Miami Vice". The engine in those is NOT a V type engine. And yeah.... I forgot that brilliant Monogram Lambo V12 in the Countach. Neat kit actually, affordable and a good catch Highway. The vision of a V12 SOHC Ford's exciting to ME too!
  16. Ferrari Daytona - Fujimi Ferrari Superamerica - Revell 1940 Lincoln - Monogram Allison 1710 V-12 engine - AMT To name just a few.
  17. Lot of cool stuff so far. Mike, never get tired of seeing your avatar.
  18. Mark, Nice project! Always one of my favorite Indy cars and a victim of legislation as well unfortunately. I built one too a little while back, albeit 1/24th scale and a working 4-wheel drive slot car... Len FYI, Mark happens to be THE premiere decal maker to the stars! You can be assured that the decals he creates for this project will be WAY better than anything Indycals has to offer! (Which incidentally I used on my slot car... btw ) Carry on Mark!
  19. I have not been able to build some of the cool projects I want to... but my friend Stan Ulrich did build one of my drawings. He gave the model to me, so I submit this as 'one' of my favorite longroof projects.
  20. Never heard of it. But I do lube the air valve trigger at the base of the finger button. Sometimes things drag on all my airbrushes causing the air to stay on even after my finger has left the trigger. I call it a "sticky trigger" and usually put a drop of light oil down into the barrel below the finger trigger when this happens.
  21. After 29 days of rain, it is nice to see things drying out finally.

  22. Happy Birthday little buddy!
  23. Guys, you might think you are the only one building but remember... there are about 10 members of Scale Auto Builders Association who are building/have already completed their entries! Most of these guys are older, rarely on the computer, and have many years of experience building. Not to mention they will be at the show with their cars. So.... take excellent pictures of your completed project and post it here or email to Dave Fletcher. While I am not able to complete my build... we are still looking at 20 - 30 entries!
  24. Yeah... . what everyone else has said! That is looking pretty darned nice and will appear strangely realistic once you put some dirt and oil on it.
