    Fini

My only critique is don't shoot pictures so close. You have definitely set your cam on Macro but because you are so close the depth of focus is too shallow. If you move back further and take high resolution pics you can zoom in and crop later. Most cameras have a cropping feature if you don't have software for that. As for the car I LOVE IT! Just the right amount of wear, weathering and dry brushing. Maybe a bit of flat clear shot on the body would help smooth out the mix of gloss and flat weathering paint... but that is just a random thought. I like it a lot.
  2. It was not vodka but Wiskey. JD to be exact and we were sipping it when Gregg asked me what do you think about a model car forum? I think he was laying down on his back in my studio at the time. He set it up after returning to Hawaii with some cheap software and sent me a link. And.... yeah it was pretty quiet here with just the two of us badgering back and forth. Till we invited others.... ... then it went down hill from there.

    My Woody

Nicest version of AAM's little woody I have seen built! Way to go.
  4. Not half bad for a Canuk! Hey, I just cut the tops off the tires in my drawing....
  5. I love the current Challenger but... this I did a few years ago.
  6. Fire it up... let's see what she'll do! Fantastic model my friend, fanfreakingtastic!!!!
  7. Pictures would have been nice Art!
  8. I agree, the only way you could go any lower up front would be to remove the lower crossmember plate and "A" arms - shorten the mounting plate (upper portion of the crossmember) and re-install it. This would give you more ground clearance up front where you could then shorten the springs EVEN MORE!
  9. Stance and look are PERFECT! Way to go.
  10. Revell 1957 Ford Country Squire wagon. (molds were irrevocably modified into a custom Rancharo) MPC '81 Chev Cavalier. (Cause nobody would buy it now) AMT 1960 Ford F100 pickup (molds modified year after year.) Palmer 1955 Thunderbird (It was bad then... why bother !?!?)

    Sketch Pad Art

Mike, I have always loved the work of Brian Borden, including his contributions to Revell kits of the day. It would have been great to have him still today producing art and inspiring us. His demise was way too soon!!! Thanks Nope. Went to Car Modeler back in the day and I never saw the original art ever again. Highland Productions didn't return it and so the only place you can see it is in the printed pages. Sorry....
  12. In order based on coolness and visual balance. 1. Chevrolet Corvair 2. 1948 Ford Flathead 3. 1932 Dusenberg straight 8 (non-supercharged) 4. mid 90's Corvette ZR-1
  13. Spike, I am impressed! You caught all the details so far and it seems like you are quite skilled at modeling. Nice progress.
  14. Very logical use of the wood appliqués. The overall look is quite realistic and in keeping with the Wagon... Nice!
  15. Five slot car forums. Four model car forums. Two Firefly forums. One diecast forum. One automotive illustration forum. One Titanic forum. And IMDB of course... Time spent depends on my free time during the day which is very limited. Some forums I rarely post to and generally spend only a few minutes at a time on any one during the day. First hour of the day is spent drinking coffee checking updates on all... but some forums I don't bother to post at unless a cool subject comes up. Thanks to Dave... I come back to MCM two or three times a day now. BTW... does Facebook count?
  16. If you like magazine coverage, make it the week before or the week after an established show. That way you can entertain Gregg for 5 days and he will be there to take pictures for both shows! (Hi Wayne... missing you buddy!)
  17. Randy, caught myself up on your project and you are doing great! The hood hinges on the '57 - '59 were not those hinges. They are suppose to be forward mounted and simple pivots right on top of the radiator core support. This allowed the front edge of the hood to drop and 90% of the hood length to open up from the firewall forward. Simple and effective and easy to replicate inscale with-out photo etch hinges. Save the hood hinges for another project. (wow, you are not afraid of trying something difficult are you?)
  18. Andy, I have never been to "Speed week". Gregg, James and I stopped by the flats after the 2005 GSL and we saw nothing on the salt but the rental van we drove. It was boring except for the fact that Gregg had to lick the salt to prove to himself it was indeed salt! True story!
  19. I like it and it is indeed fun to take part in this. I wish I could find the time to work on my car.... Really need to grind out a hole in the floor for a "rust through"! But life keeps getting in the way!
  20. Grrrrr you got it! Touch lower in the rear and spot on!
  21. You guys are crazy!
  22. What is wrong with a 409 and three deuce carbs?
  23. Nice! I too saw those pics and see the influences that had on your build. Well done!
