  1. Back in the late 80's when I got back into modeling the first 2 kits I picked up were Monograms 69 Camaro and 56 Chevy, because I had owned 1:1's of both cars and had fond memories of them. Both of those kits are very out of proportion, the Camaro is so bad it looks like a Deal's Wheels kit. I never finished them, and I supose it's just luck I ever bought another kit. Add me to the rivet counter list
  2. Good to see another Pontiac fan, I learned to drive in my moms 63 Bonney convert, and my brothers 66 GTO with a 62 SD 421 ran REAL strong! Coolist Tin Indian I ever owned was a 68 LeMans 326 convert.
  3. 1950 NASCAR rules required a full interior, back seat and all, and I don't think roll bars were yet required.
  4. Great job an a kit that not so easy!
  5. I can remember Testors at 10 cents, and Patra was just 5 cents, and my budget was tight enough that I had to buy the Patra paints, which were in plastic bottles not glass.
  6. VERY NICE! A good tool from Revell sure would be nice, but I cal hear the anti Camaro, tri-five Chevy and 32 Ford bunch screaming at the thought!
  7. As a Hoosier I can say this, an amusement park in northren Indiana uses the slogan "There's more than corn in Indiana". They are right, we have soy beans too.
  8. I would be interested in long fleetside beds for the 60 / 66 Chevy pickups if nicely cast.
  9. With resin quality isn't the first concern, It's more will you ever recive what you pay for.
  10. The Jungle Jim Monza FC kit a few years back had both Jim and Pam figures included!
  11. I re-read the original post, the kit is a 75, not a 73. I hope this doesn't ruin things for you. 73 promos can be found if thats what you are wanting.
  12. Truth is we will never again see the innovation that gave Indy the Meyer-Drake-Offy, the front drive Novi V8, the turbine swooshmobile, the rear engine revolution, outdated fours outperforming new OHC V8's with the addition of a turbocharger, Smoky's capsule car, if the rule book forbids it .
  13. Next years race used to sell out a few weeks after the race (mid June the year before the race) as the tickets went on sale the day after the race. Now you can get tickets on race day.
  14. Me either, and I'm a gear head who lives 30 miles from the track.
  15. I have no complaints, enjoy your retirement!
  16. You know, things change as time go on, and thats fine. I'm sure I'd get a kick watching these cars run. But calling them gassers today is like Axl Rose calling his current band Guns and Roses. The name should have died.
  17. It'd take weeks! , run 10 laps, recharge the batteries, run 10 laps,........
  18. It seems that "gassers" died when Ford made Ohio George build his Mustang.
  19. In a few years the Fairness chassis samemobiles will run 500 miles and everybody will get a participation trophy.
  20. Very cool, how did you backdate to a 68?
  21. Because I love a good steak dinner, but once in a while I just want a taco. Thats why.
