  1. JB, that works if you want a red 'flake Manx, I want to do some bodywork and paint mine. And you are right about the dual port heads, somewhere about 66 on the type 3 engines, not until 71 for the type 1. Those manifolds look to be dual port to me .
  2. I used to like laughatrice.com, but the site is gone now.
  3. Red 'flake Manx question. I "caught the kat", and wanted a white plastic kit. Can the red 'flake plastic be body worked and painted OK ? Or should I try to trade it?
  4. Sorry, it's R&R, not modelhaus. I doubt you can get just a boot. http://www.resinrealm.net/Star/RRGalleries/Mercury/index.html
  5. Doesn't Modelhaus make a 50 Merc convertible? Don sells parts so the boot would be available separately.
  6. Sorry, my battery was dead. I saw lots of others taking pics so maybe......
  7. Thats great news, I'm correcting a body and will be doing something about the engine soon.
  8. I agree, I'm sure every new tool is well researched. It may not be what you wanted, but others do.
  9. Everyone gets nostalgic for the best times in their life. For most of us that is our high school years and into our twenties. Fun, new found freedom, good health, friends, our first taste of love (before it cost us half of our stuff), and the cars we used to "get around" in. Now if I'd only kept my 56 Chevy and 69 Camaro I could retire soon!
  10. No, the only stock kit made were the Jo-Han Cutlass's.
  11. Very nice! My favorite car in my favorite color? (looks to be fathom green)
  12. If I ever spend $600.000 on anything to will have a garage, not fit in one.
  13. No company, large or small, ever became successful by forcing an unwanted product down the throats of their customers.
  14. It probably won't do well with todays high solids paints, nostalgia would be the only thing I'd want one for today. And yes, I've used one. Many times.
  15. There are many Americans who have a small fortune today. They all started with a big fortune a few years ago.
  16. I got an old Jo-Han 64 Cadillac convert built up with the windshield frame broken off in a trade deal a few years back, and you've inspired me !
  17. I've bought a few Missing Link resin kits, and I know this will worth the wait.
  18. I have 2 of the first plastic kits, bought them to do a hearse. I'll build that someday.
  19. Resin is more brittle than plastic, but I have carefuly opened hoods with great results. Never tryed doors but can't see that being much differant.
  20. Hey, they all gripe about SUV and Hummer owners! Turn abouts fair play!
  21. I scored a built '74 Bobby Allison Chevelle at the HMCA swap and show today, it's in the Purple Pond right now. I will be correcting the wheel openings and doing a stock '73 SS 454 build.
  22. Ed, I have one of those Rambler kits, and the Hawk Hudson too. In the someday stack. Nice but simple. Art Anderson was doing a ful detail build on the Hudson a few years back. I wonder If he ever finished it?
  23. Enjoyed looking at your stuff, but finances wern't there for me at this time. Hopefully next time I can take a few things home with me. A 1911 Chevy maybe?
