The world would be a boring place if we all liked the same thing, I personaly would have rather had a stock build option. Is it really a custom it you built it out of the box?
The beetle is a 68, but isn't the greatest kit in the world. The photos look like it still has the fender flairs from an earlier custom release. There is enough material in the fenders to remove the flairs for a stock build, I've done it.
The body was white resin, about the same thickness as stryne, and fairly "pinholess" , but the small details needed cleaning up. That was about 5 or 6 years ago, the caster may have improved with experance. I'd buy again.
Kevin, I have not bought from rocketfin so I can't say good or bad about them, but I did buy a resin kit from the caster Ben Packaz on ebay, and it's best said that it was buildable. If you can do some bodywork, go for it.
We all model for fun, and it sure wasn't fun here last weekend. I left the SA forum for the very same things I've seen here lately. A lot of childish fit throwing. Sad.
Someone told me years ago (I wish I remembered who) that there were two coupe roofs on this Ford body, I think it had to do with the back seat or lack of one. Anyway, he assured me that the IMC roof was correct for one but not both of them. Wish I remembered more.
Cold and rainy here, I listened to the forcast on the radio earlier, a low in the thirties Tuesday morning. I'm with Jon, how many rooms you got Cranky?
I'd model Big Willies Daytona if I could find enough info. Did you know its Big Willie's car in the opening street racing in the movie "Two Lane Blacktop"?
Everybody knows the location changed, right?
Knights of Columbus, 511 East Thompson Road on the south side, just east of US highway 31.
Yeah, I'll be there.
Years ago Cavilers were marked CS and CL. I asked a man at the Chevy dealer what that ment and he told me "Chevy striped and Chevy loaded". I'll bet his boss wouldn't have approved of his answer.
