  1. Even more stuff from Carlos de Jesus!!!!
  2. I am going to post some of my work on this theme. I am also posting some work done by one of my favorite Puerto Rican modelers, Carlos de Jesus, ( sorry Izzy, you are not the only favorite in my list) I am very proud of the work done by my compatriots in the Island and hopefully they can help me in adding more stuff onto this thread!!!! You will see some drag stuff as well as just the regular Import cars seen on the streets of the Island and the PR's living out here in the States!!!! This is Carlos de Jesus' little beast, this guy is awesome!!!! More stuff from Carlos!!!
  3. You can pick up the pads at any good hobby store or through the Internet. About the rims, check out this same post all the way from the start, a lot of your questions are already answered by going back from the start of the building process right here!!! Thanks for your input!!
  4. Thanks for the pics Iz, I don't have a doubt that this import thing started in the Island, I remember going to a lot of those races myself!!!!
  5. Very cool man!!!
  6. WOW Greg, this is really turning out awesome my friend, love that color and the graphics are phenomenal. Can't wait to see it with the clear and finally polished!!!! Great job!!!!
  7. I have a set of Micro-Mesh polishing clothes that start at 3200 and end at 12,000, just use them from start to finish and then I use Maguiars cleaner wax for final waxing. I like using a chamois for waxing instead of the usual cotton or flannel that most people use, this helps in reducing any scratches. Don't exactly know what you are asking about the vinyl top??? Do you mean final word?? If so, it will be painted semi-gloss black at the end!!
  8. I am almost done with the wet-sanding and polishing of my Charger, the only thing left is the trunk area and I can call this phase "done", thank God, it was a little tedious. I still don't know which was a better invention, the polishing clothes or the Bare Metal Foil, I just thank God we have them both!!!! I decided to place the interior inside the body shell to give you guys an idea on how everything will look a little later. I was gonna go w/ the white interior but I kinda liked the black and the blue contrast so much that I am keeping it like is!! Hopefully I can have some more progress done if time permits me to do so, I will start foiling it soon and after that I will attack the chassis since the engine and interior are done, thanks for looking!!!
  9. Love it Tom, sometimes it's good to just do a fun, quickie build to keep the building juices flowing, nice and clean too!!!!
  10. Nice job William, I am still working on mine as you can see in the workbench area of the forum, I am planning on buying the photo-etch detail set to complete mine so that I don't have to worry much about the side marker lights but I think that I will be experimenting w/ some leftover photo-etch parts I have in my parts box, I thought I saw something in there that I might be able to incorporate into the build. You did a fantastic job on yours though, I like the color you chose for it!!!
  11. Impressive work there Andy, love the color on the factory stock one!!!!
  12. Very cool!!!!
  13. CONGRATS!!!!!!!!
  14. Interesting!!! Looking good!!!
  15. No Clay, it will be painted semi-gloss black later, I just decided to go ahead and paint the whole thing, didn't see the need to mask it since it will be easy to just paint it separately at the end. Plus I thought it toned down the vinyl top just right also!!
  16. I'm definetly getting one!!!! or two!!!
  17. Thanks Jay, yes, it has a clear, you have to w/ these lacquers.
  18. Wow!!! Can't believe I am posting some progress on this thing, the only reason I am is because I called in sick on Monday to do several things around the house and decided to do some painting. I went with Nassau Blue Metallic from the Testors line of lacquers. Right now is sitting in the dehydrator and as you can see it's pretty rough so there's a lot of wet-sanding to do. I will be painting the roof semi gloss black after polishing the body and will continue with the rest of the car later, in the meantime, I got's to get some shuteye, gotta go to work tonight
  19. I don't know guys, in my humble opinion, I think these Mercs always look good in a solid color, seems to me that when they are painted in two tone colors it kinda messes up the smooth body lines !! Then again, it's just my opinion, what the heck do I know about these things!!!
  20. Looks like I missed a good one!! Had to work that day, would have given anything to see Lyle w/ the black hair in the early 18th century pictures!!!!
  21. Awesome work, from the stance to the paint!!!!!
  22. Stunning build my friend, you think you can take a few more pictures of it with lots of sun but with the car in the shadows? Your gloss would certainly be appreciated even more. I have always loved this car, beautiful lines and stance!!
  23. WOW!!! I like what your'e doing w/ this, pretty unique!!!!!
  24. It could have gone either way man, with respects to my boy Chris, I did vote for yours but I am also proud that it was a member of our club that won!! Chris does phenomenal work!!
