  1. Like I said again, a lot of Bare Metal Foiling but in my humble opinion I think it is the best invention for our hobby. With a lot of patience it really pays off. I will be working with the engine next and so on, hope you guys like it!!!!!
  2. Well guys, decided to work on the Impala over the weekend. Did a lot of wet-sanding, polishing, waxing and BMFing'. Did some other little details like opening the air cleaner snorkels, if thats what they call them These photos show the results of a lot of rubbing, thought for a while a genie would grant all my wishes!!!! These pictures show the progress on the side trim and their BMF being applied. Lots of BMF..... And more BMF
  3. Looks very cool man, but try learning using the BMF, it really sets off a model, I know that it is not for everyone but personally I think it was the best thing invented for model cars!!!!!
  4. Stunning!!!! Very nice and unique color man, nice job
  5. Looks like a winner man, keep us updated, nice colors too
  6. Love it man, nice job and color choice!!!!!
  7. I like these bikes, got one done about 5 years ago and one day I will build another one. Welcome to the forum man!!!!
  8. Thank you fellas, I finished painting it 2 days ago and will be doing some polishing tonight. Decided to finally use the Tamiya clear so I hope it buffs nicely. I will be posting some pictures soon, I have been kinda lazy these last couple of days around the workbench.....
  9. I think the metallic flakes are way out of scale!!!!
  10. I like drilling them out and using Model Car Garages' gauge sets to do mine.
  11. Believe me I am sorry I was not there, sometimes we have to take care of some things but hey, bring it to the next meeting again ok!!!!!
  12. Undoubtely a nice project, good luck and please keep us updated .....
  13. Can you guys post a picture of it for all to see?????? Thanks....
  14. Looks like a winner to me man!!!!!!
  15. I am sorry I was not able to attend, looks like you guys had a lot of fun. Congratulations to the winners.
  16. It's been with me for about 4 years, don't remember where I got it but it is a beautiful kit that I just had to put together.
  17. Stupid question???? This is one of the best ones I have seen asked in the forum Surely a topic a lot of people will be looking and learning from!!!!!
  18. I decided to start work on this 59' Impala Custom from Revell, I will be painting it Pearl White from the Tamiya line of paints and Testors' 50's Aqua for accents. It will be pretty much an out of box build but I am not too crazy about the decals so I am still undecided!!! Started on the bodywork and found out that a lot of bondo and primer had to be used for the trunk area as it was full of indentations along the edges of the fins. One of the things I noticed was how ugly and out of scale the antennas for the rear are. I cut them off, saving the base of course and drilling holes to accept needle pins for a sharper look!! Started taking some chrome off the side trim because the car will have lots of BMF and I wanted everything to match!!! Decided to use the BMF under the paint trick and I was pretty impressed with the results, just had to make sure I took my time doing this..... I will be using some photo-etch leftover emblems I have in my PE parts box from previous Impalas I have ecompleted. Like I said, I decided to use 50's aqua to see how the 2 colors will come together at the end, hope it works out
  19. I use Odds and Ends Clear, $1.96 a can, what you really want to do is master your polishing technique, everything else will fall into place......
  20. Grerat job on that Bob, love that year Impala also!!!!
  21. I have about 300 up in the attic and another 150 in the basement ready to be moved to the attic also!!! I just hate it when I need a specific model and have to go through the boxes to find one. I do have them catalogued also to make it a little easier!!!
  22. Hey my friend, I did 2 similar to what you are doing, that is a nice kit you got there, wish I could get one but I know how rare they can be. Good luck on yours, you are already on the right track!!!!!
  23. It is actually 40% off not 50%. My only gripe is that they have the same old stuff and the prices are high vs the variety of models offered.
  24. http://s99.photobucket.com/albums/l284/mmm...down%202-23-08/ A few more pics!!!!!!
