  3. Thank you fellas, I finished painting it 2 days ago and will be doing some polishing tonight. Decided to finally use the Tamiya clear so I hope it buffs nicely. I will be posting some pictures soon, I have been kinda lazy these last couple of days around the workbench.....
  4. I think the metallic flakes are way out of scale!!!!
  5. I like drilling them out and using Model Car Garages' gauge sets to do mine.
  6. Believe me I am sorry I was not there, sometimes we have to take care of some things but hey, bring it to the next meeting again ok!!!!!

  10. I am sorry I was not able to attend, looks like you guys had a lot of fun. Congratulations to the winners.
  11. It's been with me for about 4 years, don't remember where I got it but it is a beautiful kit that I just had to put together.
  12. Stupid question???? This is one of the best ones I have seen asked in the forum Surely a topic a lot of people will be looking and learning from!!!!!
  13. I decided to start work on this 59' Impala Custom from Revell, I will be painting it Pearl White from the Tamiya line of paints and Testors' 50's Aqua for accents. It will be pretty much an out of box build but I am not too crazy about the decals so I am still undecided!!! Started on the bodywork and found out that a lot of bondo and primer had to be used for the trunk area as it was full of indentations along the edges of the fins. One of the things I noticed was how ugly and out of scale the antennas for the rear are. I cut them off, saving the base of course and drilling holes to accept needle pins for a sharper look!! Started taking some chrome off the side trim because the car will have lots of BMF and I wanted everything to match!!! Decided to use the BMF under the paint trick and I was pretty impressed with the results, just had to make sure I took my time doing this..... I will be using some photo-etch leftover emblems I have in my PE parts box from previous Impalas I have ecompleted. Like I said, I decided to use 50's aqua to see how the 2 colors will come together at the end, hope it works out
  14. I use Odds and Ends Clear, $1.96 a can, what you really want to do is master your polishing technique, everything else will fall into place......
  15. Grerat job on that Bob, love that year Impala also!!!!
  16. I have about 300 up in the attic and another 150 in the basement ready to be moved to the attic also!!! I just hate it when I need a specific model and have to go through the boxes to find one. I do have them catalogued also to make it a little easier!!!
  17. Hey my friend, I did 2 similar to what you are doing, that is a nice kit you got there, wish I could get one but I know how rare they can be. Good luck on yours, you are already on the right track!!!!!
  18. It is actually 40% off not 50%. My only gripe is that they have the same old stuff and the prices are high vs the variety of models offered.
