  1. No man, same venue but now we have the vendors sharing the same space with the models. We are getting close to the 500 mark, it's a great show!
  2. Come on guys, its a cool kit, those little "pesky" issues can be dealt with, that's why we are modelers, we are supposed to be challenged and make something special out of this....

    Audi R8 Spyder!

Thanks bro. I used a sharpie from behind the windshield, there was a pronounced detail on the window which I followed to make this step a little easier.

    Audi R8 Spyder!

Thanks guys. The color is Nassau Blue metallic from the Testor's lacquers and the clear is Testor's Wet Look. The top is Tamiya Royal Blue.

  9. Finally finished this thing last night at around 4am. Thought it was a great and well designed kit by Revell. Originally didn't think this color was going to work but I learned to like it very quickly!! Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki

  14. Hey Tom, there was a small tutorial that came out in the August/September issue of the magazine in reference to this. Basically what I do is scribe the lines deeper on the plastic even before I primer it, add the dark wash and that's it, you dont have to go back and do it again and if you do, it shouldn't be a problem....
  15. This is the one I use.... Hosted on Fotki

  17. Thanks bro, the paint and clear were straight out of the can. I just finished polishing it just now, I will share some pictures tomorrow!
  18. Sorry my friend, didn't want to belittle you there, I should have looked at the question a little closer but yes, give those washes a try, you will like them.
  19. Thanks. The paint on the seats is Tamiya Medium Gray Flat, the other shades of gray are a mixture of Testor's enamels flat gray and the use of black to make the other shade of gray slightly darker.
  20. Thanks Jay, I don't know but I did find this one under Google, what do you think? Hosted on Fotki
  21. Thanks guys, the mini anvil is from Harbor Freight Tools!!
  22. Metallizers are not meant to be used as washes my friend. I use MIG washes (google it) they come in various colors and are perfect for this. I would share a picture of the product with you here but I am writing this from my cel....
  23. Thank you for your comments guys, certainly very appreciative of them all! Last night, I went ahead and shot some primer, color and clear on this baby and at the moment she is sitting in the dehydrator. Once dry, I will go ahead and finish up with the polishing and bling of the paint. I decided to shoot some pics w/ the interior in place, it's not glued yet. I was expecting the Nassau Blue Metallic to sort of come out on the darker side but I think what made the difference was the white primer base. At any rate, I am actually very happy how it turned out. I think that this is the only color in their line of paints in which the metallics don't look a little out of scale.... 24. I don't know about the jumping up and down part but yes, I am satisfied with the way the interior turned out. This build is for Bob Foster so you will definitely see it at the next meeting, finished or not....
  25. I played around with the decals on the valve covers for a while and the way that they are designed actually go better the way they are placed on the valve covers. They do look funny but at the end, they will not be noticeable anyway, the body will hide them...
