  4. We had a blast as usual in our December Holiday bash, lots of cool models and great food!!!
  5. Thanks guys, I have learned to burnish the decals after heating them real good with the hair dryer, the burnishing helps the decal conform to every curve and detail of the parts. First I place the decal, take off the excess water with a flat brush, hit it with the dryer for about 15 seconds and burnish it well with my fingers. I repeat the whole process at least three times and get very good results!
  6. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki As you can see on the last picture, Revell messed up on 2 of the tires in the kit, they are off-centered and have to be replaced, I have done my homework and wrote them a letter concerning this, hopefully I can get my parts soon. I will be sharing some more stuff down the road, hope you guys like this....

  9. Just like you hear it fellas, not my thing but..... I am having a lot of fun with this kit!! Last month at my club meeting, a new member approached me and asked me if I could build a Revell of Germany Formula 1 racing car for him. He tells me that another one of the club members told him that I am used to building these types of models. Where the heck did he get that information from? Have any of you here in the forum seen me building one of these things? My sentiments exactly.... Anyway, to make a long story short, I decided to go ahead and build this thing for him even though I clearly specified that I have never touched one of these types of models before. We agreed on a price and off I went into the sunset with my other 1000 projects I have going on, most of them at least in my head. I will show a series of pictures of the work in progress on this thing but I will admit one thing, I am having a lot of fun building this kit, it's the kind of project that actually motivates anyone being that it's something (at least for me) out of the norm. The cartograph decals? In one word...... AWESOME!!! First time I work with them, if you ever decide using them on a model, make sure to keep a hair blower at your side, helps out a lot. These things work more like BMF than decals, carefully placed and worked, they yield very professional results! So far I have painted the model and placed most of the decals on the body but this thing brings a huge decal sheet with most of the decals done to simulate carbon fiber. I also decided to re-scribe all the panel lines since most of them were a little on the light side. Being that these cars have so many panels, I thought it was the right thing to do even though it was a little tedious. This is the model.... Hosted on Fotki
  10. Thing looks awesome already, the stance makes it look menacing, I am following you closely on this one.
  11. Awesome work, very cool!
  12. Looking good T! One of the things I like about attacking these type of projects is making miracles out of the worst possible models, it's one of the things that makes one modeler better than the other (not meant to criticize or demean anyone)
  13. So.......When is the release date???
  14. Very cool, I am following this one close!!

    'Tis the season!

Thanks Ed, I usually don't post pictures of the builds I do for several people, I did want to share this one because my friend wanted to see it in the forum. About Donn's method, as you well know, it speaks for itself, not only is he a great talent and painter, he is one of the nicest guys out there, always willing to help you with any questions. My painting method is different because is the one I feel comfortable with, I am sure if I try Donn's, I would get the same results, I hear it's fool proof and I believe it!
  25. Wow, good idea, and I do have that lazy susan too! Harry, the idea behind the Spanish is that I share a lot of my work with my boys in Puerto Rico (scalebuilder.com) 95% of them know English but I just feel more comfortable talking our language. Check them out and don't even worry about the Spanish if you decide to register, there is a lot of talent there!
