Stan, looking real sweet!! aint nothing like big ol balonies's (yea, that's a 70's term), a nice stance and a narrow rear!! looks like your heading for home on this one.
-
nice build. I have not seen too many of Shirleys coronet around. Most people use aftermarket decals and do a different car.
-
Nice attention to detail all around. really shaping up.
-
looking killer Stan. great detail. this thing just oozes horsepower. . . . . and I think the shifter is in backwards. the cable will be coming from the small portion of the shifter and looping thru the floor ti the trans shift lever.

Best Father's Day present ever?

in my opinion...... if I had that car and a bank account to let me afford a toy like that, sure I would drive it a little, actually, I'd beat the snot out of it a few times a month. And I am sure I would have a few less rare cars back in the garage that I could just rip to shreds. this car is exactly that, an investment. how do you think these guys got to afford these types of cars. to drop it down to a level that we can understand, I know plenty of guys with 350 Camaros, 383 road runners and many other muscle cars, even some late 70's and 80's cars that very rarely see the light of day because of the cost of repairing the results of an accident. a few owners back of this car lived out west somewhere where the was little traffic. didn't have to sorry about a drunk or someone texting. I have been driving for 40 years and have had 2 accidents, both not my fault, i'd take those odds and just fry the rear tires of that car just because. -
great build Stan, I kind of agree with the front, I would like to see a real grille and headlights, but the decals look real good. I have this same body and I was going to try to fit the pro street willys chassis under it, but that baretta chassis fits real well.

8.5..... what can you do with an 8.5 that you cant do with, say a 19.5!!! nice build so far, put a chevy in it, yea, I think you would ruffle some feathers with that one. keep pushing thru this Ford build Mr. Chevy, it's coming out nice. -
thanks Dale..... and I know what you mean by taking their cars lightly.... back in the day when I was doing a hemi road runner, I got told millions of times that this is wrong or that was wrong...... totally another post subject and I understand completely. thanks again, I will check it out.

Ron, that is a killer build. very inspirational. as far as the chute goes, it seems that parachute cords always seem to be wrapped in black or silver material. maybe wrap the yarn in bare metal foil or for something stronger, maybe the dull side of aluminum foil? that's what I was going to try on my Pontiac I am building.... but I am not that far yet. either way, still a great build.

if I want to do a big block eliminator cougar (I think they were 429 CJ motors, I know there were 390's also, I want to do a 429 CJ car), can I use the AMT #6529 1969 Cougar CJ428 as a starting point? how different is the 429 to the 428?how much is different from the 428 CJ cougar to the $29 Eliminator version? I will google this and check my magazines, but someone has a 428 cougar model kit up for trade and I would like to know how much I would have to do/change. thanks in advance, Tubbs

right back at cha. will trade any time. don't hesitate at all trading with vintagedragcrazy (Vince)

heck of a slump buster. you build these slump busters to do just that, not put you deeper in a slump. for what it's worth Jason, it's done and that's farther than mine get. looks good from the pictures. keep going man, the next one will be spot on.

ok this time a question for you dog owners, do you have a dog or ever seen a dog that "smiles"? here is a picture of Wilson, and he is not growling or mad, he is smiling for a treat. when we leave him for any amount of time, he greats up with his tail wagging so much, he cant walk straight and a smile. I will try to get it on video one of these days. I spoke to a few people at the vets and they say it's more common that you would think. well, every picture I try to load says it's too big....... I will get back to you guys with some pictures as soon as I figure this out.

spoiled a little!?!? what else are you suppose to do with your pets?
-
very cute. yea, those people running the shelters or kennels are like weather forecasters, they are usually off just a little, and it's never to the minus side. watch that little one, some of that stuff they get into will not pass thru their system. welucked out with Wilson, he ate the fuzz off of a tennis ball, didn't poop for 2 days, finally, he dropped a big ol yellow hairy load. boy was he happy. we thought he may have to have surgery. he also got into a bowl of mini reese's mini peanut butter cups, atr about 12, rappers and all..... looked like a chocolate fountain for a day.
-
looks like it worked well...... those spoons have found themselves on a few builds around here.

just about every kit with a hemi in it has a cross ram, those are easy to find. it's the cragars, best set i have seen bar none are out of the 70 1/2 Baldwin/Motion camaro. that's where I got mine. don't know if the hemi darts have deeper ones in the back or not.
-
well, I hope you will continue to get this build done. hope I am not repeating, but the real car, the 1/4's were vertically sliced, bent out and filled in. maybe you should thin the well a little, make the vertical cuts and fill in. the big challenge will be the body lines. hopefully this will keep on rolling.

Manny's a great guy, known him for a while now. never used a Ross Gibson motor. going to be a killer ride, keep us posted. so, you piece the whole thing together (probably with white glue) tear it down, paint, and put it all back together? WOW, where's the challenge in that? joking, smart way to build. I am still correcting the "one thing leads to another" problems on my dart build. only if I'd had done it your way.....

I am electronically challenged also.... so here is a link to Spiderbait's "black betty".... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nU1VfYYKMDk great car scenes in this..... pretty hilarious when the drummer starts moving.... he is..... well, just watch. it's a soundtrack for a movie, don't know which.
