  1. Shane, looks killer! great job. you mentioned above; "...I use James (wonderbread) method of rusting..." is there a tutorial on his weathering technique? I did a search and came up with nothing... that doesn't mean it's not there. darn computers.
  2. nice to see some of the cat family showing up. though they are a strange breed, too smart for themselves I think. we are looking to get another cat to keep Wilson company. does anyone have any advice on what to do if/when we get the cat. we are looking for a kitten and we only do rescues. Wilson is a very friendly dog. going on 2 years old (see very first post). he is extremely attached to me, I do not want to stir anything up and I am not the type to say "whatever happens, happens (like my better half). I do not want him to get a broken heart. does that sound silly? anyways, any advice will be appreciated. have a great day, Tubbs
  3. yes, that is the kit. I am not sure if it comes in the convertible or not, so if you purchase one, get the hardtop. or post up a "wanted" add here.
  4. super looking build. am a bit mopar guy and have been wanting this kit for a while. did you get just the body or does it come complete? the exhaust you want comes in the polar lights 65 coronet. cut outs and all.
  5. half way down the page.... http://vcgresin.atspace.com/main.html
  6. looks great Ice... nice woodwork.
  7. well Steve, a simple solution is to take the stock motor (which is 1/24) cut the trannys off of each motor and wuap them. then just try to modify the stock motor with some scratch built sheet valve covers and modify the heads, maybe add some stock and sand them smooth like after market aluminum heads, bigger pan. basically do some simple mods to the outside of the motor to make it look different and you have it..... but ..... if you want to go "outside" the bonnet.... use a funny car or top fuel hemi (in which I was doing with mine). I added a few links for reference. http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Number=5508563 http://www.horsepowermonster.com/2013/secrets-to-dialing-in-a-mopar-valvetrain/ love the stance of this.... looks bad a$$!! i'll be watching.....
  8. HAHA.... welcome to the club baby!!! the rake looks great, just stay focused on it. I imagine its like that with all builds, but pro street is real tricky... just a little more here, and a little tweek there..... I have a simple back half 62 Pontiac pro street going that has been tore down twice and turned into a full blown race car, next step is a tube chassis for it..... don't even want to go there... neverending keep on pushing....
  9. hey Mike, very nice work. looks killer. I have plans on doing one of these (someday) and you are giving me some ideas. I hope you don't mind me giving you one. it may be too late to suggest but here goes; I like my builds with fat tires in the rear and sitting low.I am planning on raising the rear fender up to almost to the body line to drop the body down on the chassis. you would have to section the bed of the truck upwards (which I don't mind doing). as I look at your build, i might section the fender so the lip of the wheel well sits low but raise the top piece to the body line and fill in the rest with styrene. this would give you a bigger fender in the rear which I feel is more aggressive. like some of the pro mod trucks out there. just my .02 cents, great project, I will be watching...... may just have to pull my LRE truck out and fiddle with it......
  10. great start. coming together nicely. will have to remember that chassis when I start my p/s duster project. nice to see pro street cas gracing this forum. I will be watching.
  11. looking real good Jason. color goes real well with that body style (although I am partial to black cars). shaping up to be another nice build from you. keep them coming young man. you have me motivated to turn some of my pro street projects to drag cars.
  12. X2..... looks great! that little trick will work wonders on all my mopar builds!!
  13. Jon, did you find your skull yet. i am still searching for mine. think i may have put it in a project box. i will keep looking.
  14. very cool! both are going to be killer builds. you did a great job on the mod top decal.
  15. WHAT??? whacky seventies Chrysler colors my eye. they were in the forefront of putting colors never before seen on cars. I heard they came from the dancers outfits on the "upbeat" show in the late 60's..... joking, this is going to be a neat build. you have a great start. and there were dusters that came from the factory without stripes, you can delete them if you want and it wouldn't be wrong.

    SNAKE BIT

great job Pappy. as someone mentioned, that would be a great street car. nice combination of parts and beautiful execution on the build.
  17. I know this is a ways away (August 16th I believe), but I would like to know a little inside info. where to go, what to stay away from, sit or walk? anyone from the forum planning on going?
  18. always a good time. my buddy is making it his last year and running the whole distance this time. he will be driving a yellow superbird.
  19. great Job TJ, sorry I missed the WIP shots... will have to backtrack now.
  20. ... that is found in the meister brau kit.... does anyone cast that? or would anyone be willing to cast up one. I have the kit if a resin caster wants to take it on? mainly interested in the block, heads, valve covers and blower manifold. thanks.
  21. just looked at your profile.... so you grew up in that era too!! great times.
  22. looking real good John. sounds like you have the mopar bug in you too. having owned several (9 to be exact) 68/9 road runners and grew up thru the 70's and 80's, i'd say you pretty much nailed the look you are going after. now, from what I remember, ditch the stock air cleaner and run a chrome one or the triangle ones that come in the pro street super bee kits. chrome in the engine compartment, flat white headers and exhaust cut at the axle. the pinion snubber is a good choice, hard to see though. if you look, I think the flat spot is on the chassis. I did mine on a 67 coronet build, so I may be wrong.... babble, babble.... sorry. one last thing, Missing link does a corrected rear taillight with the backup light in the right spot, I do not have any yet, but highly recommend it. Keith Marks.... good choice also. I will be watching.
  23. I have (do not know what kit it came from) a 1/25 skull and shifter. cannot put a picture up yet and I do not want to give it up, but I will be more than happy to sent it to someone who can clean it up and cast it. it has a coat of white paint on it. I will see if I can dig it up and get a good picture of it tonight.
  24. ahhh, white headers, slapper bars and shackles. can't beat the 'ol street racing stories. the build came out great, can't wait to see the next ones. love the color on it. did you use the proper color, or something close? I was 16 back in '75 and my powder blue 6 clynder Maverick wasn't exactly a threat, so I would hang with my buddys. we were on the Mopar brigade, an AAR cuda, blown hemi dart,a 70 440+6 GTX and sometimes a 70 W-30 442 (yea, we razzed Ernie for being an olds guy, but he could take out most everyone with that rocket 455). we had Southgate shopping center just southeast of Cleveland Ohio to look for the races, went to the highway to race and if you had enough in your pants.... cash that is, you would head downtown to Quigley and Scranton Bvld where all the big boys hung out. didn't mean to sidetrack your thread, I will be watching these street racers take shape.
  25. I agree. and I wouldn't want to flip the bill when my driverless car computer goes on the fritz!! let's just go back to trolleys and street cars.
