  1. WOW!! first off, welcome, and second.... how do you do that stuff?
  2. well God bless you James, I hope your road get a little easier to travel.... take it just one day at a time, you will get back to the bench.
  3. finally!! went to a show over the weekend and picked up a hemi cuda kit!! if the gentleman selling them would have had 2, I wouldn't be in this dilemma on how to build it. I know everyone has their opinions on the body and I see their point, but I think the overall quality of the kit is excellent. so, on top of the 4 projects I have on the bench that I said I would finish by the end of February, (HAHA, I crack me up sometimes) I think I have to make room for this build. here is the dilemma, do I build it like this.. or like this..... for the first one, I think I am swaying towards stock.... no race...... stock, yes, race all the way.....
  4. nice job on the rear wheel wells. digging for research is a good thing. here is a real good picture of a resto shops rear wheel openings for a hemi dart clone (or tribute car I guess is the term nowadays)... just for future reference. you can clearly see how much of the body is cut away in front of the wheel. I haven't build my hemi darts yet, have to clear too may started projects out the way, but I will be watching this for sure.
  5. ok, a lot of us who post here make references to our parts stealing, time consuming pets. well here is a thread dedicated to the non-human loves of our lives. be it fish, lizards, spiders, monkeys, horses, whatever..... oh yea, and ever elusive dog and cat.... so..... this is Wilson a 1 1/2 year old lab/Shepard mix that will steal anything that he can get in his mouth. not throwing the family under the bus, but since I am with him first in the morning and pretty much the only person who actually goes out with him instead of just opening the door and waiting for him to do his business, he usually is at my side all the time, except when we start a fire, he is afraid of the popping and crackle noises the fire makes and he runs upstairs to our bed. yea, he sits pretty much where he wants, I think he thinks he is a human.... the day we brought him home. he is a rescue, was found in an abandon house with 4 others. best dog ever!!
  6. a lot of guys swear by pro tech. Charlie is a real great guy. never heard anything negative about his stuff or his delivery time. I am sure you will get more examples and I am sorry if I left people out. dogs rule? you got that right!!
  7. the hood that ran on the 70 S and M cuda (90% of the pictures I have seen) was a 6 pack scoop on a flat hood, all fiberglass of course I betcha a dollar to a donut they do not issue that kind of hood.... not being mr. negative, but it will probably be some sort of hemi scoop. I thought I saw a 6 pack hood for a 70 cuda on ebay.....
  8. minnow cars? funny, never tied the 2 together..... mustang and pony cars.
  9. yes, I should have been more specific..... the 50th anniversary of the 426 cubic inch hemi. don't know why only the mustang. if you google 1964 automotive history, most of the sites that come up are mustang based.
  10. hey john, it's also the 50th anniversary of the hemi........
  11. sounds great to me. I am heading to a swap meet tomorrow and hopefully will be picking mine up there.
  12. hehe, yea, that is true. I went to a catholic school (yea, some kids parents had money...) where the very first row was "reserved" for the seniors. lets see, there was a '70 396, nova, a brand new 76 T/A, a 69 Z/28, a 454 monte carlo, a 69 hurst olds and a motion vega. I thought it would be funny to park my 200+ cubic inch maverick in the front row one day...... last time I ever did that. those were the days.
  13. let me tell you.... it doesn't work. there are more busses, cars and/or motorcycles painted up like the Browns helmets... after 13 or so years, we are STILL on square 1..... on a side note, this is Josh Gordon's car...
  14. X2 !! really adds to the custom look.
  15. here are some more..... 64 dodge AWB 67 coronet 67 GTX 69 dart sooooo many more. hopefully this will get a fire going back under this one. comments and suggestions welcome on any of these projects.
  16. nooooo!! this thread cant be dead!?!? I am sure we all have projects to keep this thread going! I started up a thread a few days ago just for builds like this and canned it when I found this one. well, I am here to revitalize this thread. I have so many projects, it's totally ridiculous. I was hoping to get everyone to suck it up and get a project done each month of this year. yea, you know you have that many projects. just post up a picture of the build in it's current state and at minimum, when you complete it, then move onto the next one. well, that is my goal, 1 per month at the least (ha, I could go for a few years). so, will there be anyone to man up and join me? in no particular order, here is a small sampling of my projects; my 40 ford 41 Plymouth 60 starliner 62 catalina (this is on the bench now) continued.......
  17. I will be by Steve, am looking for a few sets of rims for future projects. and how did you get your own table? seems I have to make a call.
  18. looking great Shane. another sweet build. will be watching.
  19. beautiful build and nice paint. and, if I am reading this right you did this kit in less than a week? you are my new hero.
  20. should have put this up sooner, there is a swap meet on January 18th, 2014 in Sharon, Pa. form 9:00 to 2:00. St. Johns Episcopal Church 226 west state street Sharon Pa. 16146 here is a web site, but the flyer for this show either is not up, or I just can't find it. http://svasm.webs.com/ hope to see you there, I did not get a table so look for me in the parking lot, will have some kits, old magazines and some other stuff. should be a black ford explorer, but if the wife wants her car that day, it will be a little s#!Tbox red kia.... or just look for this face..... yes, I am the GREY HAIRED one, and I will be with a rambunctious 12 year old looking for hot wheels. if you see me, stop me and say "hi". will swap magazines or whatever for the new merc woody kit, the new hemi cuda kit, or almost anything pro street, gasser, pro mod or pro stock.
  21. not a problem. pm me your addy, I have some packages to get ou tomorrow, I will add your to it. also list the parts you need in the pm again also.
  22. hey Greg, I may be able to help you out, I have a few of the first issue of this kit (the bastardized one) and one of the newer kits. I will have to compare the numbers, if it is the older kit, I can help you out, if it is the newer one, maybe not.
  23. beautiful worn out truck Paul. so, so jealous of you guys who can weather stuff so real and so convincing. sweet!
  24. super build, love the engine detail. just enough. I drove a 1975 maverick, powder blue with a 6 cylinder....... yea buddy, what a chick magnet!
