  1. hey James, how are you, this is Al, from the model club i so infrequenty show my face at. one of these meetings, anyways, not to be the only one to ask but why this conversion? what don't you like about the johan body - or - what do you like about the 70 body that you want to make it a 71? it's going to be a killer knowing your talants. hopefully i will see you at the next meeting.
  2. still..... nothing!! anyone building? post them up!! if i cant build one myself, i wanna see what you guys come up with!!
  3. put the bird chassis under the nova!!! thats what i would do.... hope you had a great Christmas.. me also, its the first time in years i got model stuff, got a black widow 57, a T/A challanger and a nova kit. yea, she said she was reluctant to buy them for me cause i don't finish the ones i have.... i hate when she's right...DAGNABIT!!
  4. i am looking on how to make them, therefore i am looking for a tip, a trick, or a tutorial. if this is in the wrong section, i am sorry Dave. moderators, if this is in the wrong spot, please feel free to move it. thank you.
  5. almost 2 million worth of good. unfortunately, they are not cars anymore.
  6. I back halved a 67, going to do a 64. never thought of dropping the whole chassis under it..... sometimes I wonder....
  7. are you talking the Johan maverick/comet kits..... never thought of that one.
  8. I was just reading the kit review about the 69 chevelle rag top that is hitting the shelves and everyone knows that the old kit detail leaves something to be desired. someone had mentioned that the 69 cutlass chassis should be an easy drop in...... really? I never would have come up with that one. I would have gone to the 67 chevelle first..... then I thought just how many kit bashing scenarios have I missed or wasted time butchering pieces, only to find out that a piece out of another kit would have worked wonders. so, this may fly, it may not, but what I was thinking for this thread was if you have ever kit bashed pieces out of 1 kit to another, no matter what it is, could you list it here for an easy reference. not matter what kits, how old or how little it may seem, someone will use your idea. here is an easy one to start off with, I don't think the 68 charger has ever had the proper hemi round air cleaner in any of its issues, steal the one out of a 67 coronet, GTX or 66/7 charger kit. if you have any others, lets here them...
  9. the wagon was never intended to be a wheelstander either.... http://www.allpar.com/model/littleredwagon.html
  10. yes, a searched for this and came up with nothing (that's not saying it's not here but...) I am doing some cars with an air ride system and I want to know what would be a good way to replicate this tank. I was going to use a moon tank and sand and paint it, but it seems too big. any suggestions, how too's? thanks in advance.
  11. sooooooo if I was to go out and buy a bag of these today from home depot to replicate these.... what would be the ones you recommend?
  12. I know, its a challenger, but you will get the idea....
  13. hey, your circles aren't bad at all and I never colored in my tires till I was older.
  14. thanks for the tip. I do the same as you for the ref. the mags never make it to the work bench. they are kind of sacred to me.
  15. that's a nice haul!! would look great on MY shelf!! "you can never have too many pro street mopars....." you got that right!! always looking for pro street GTX's and road runners. have plenty of the super bees. you don't need that chassis in that cuda kit....let me know how the chassis from that GTX fits under it....
  16. I swear competition resin sells them, fairly inexpensive, but I can't seem to find them on his site. I know they are there somewhere... any help?
  17. my prayers go out to you and everyone involved.
  18. very cool drawings John. almost look like modern day rat rods. I used to draw all the time. I outlined quarters for the rear tires and nickels for the fronts. was ecstatic when I got a circle template for my b-day. thanks for sharing.
  19. I never noticed this. I always use BB's but want to do a 340 69 dart. I know its very well detailed. anyways, still on the hunt for my cuda kit... sooner or later.
  20. that's great. thought there would be more interest since I STILL cant find one (not one for buying over the net, I know, what can I say). OK, the "CHEVY" and the "SLOW" I understand, but the "make her even more sloooow" part, I don't get... are you a Ford guy infiltrating a classic mopar community build?
  21. that would be neat. want a 1/25th scale 71 cuda. that would be a cool conversion.
  22. yes, I have a few of the 71 monogram and a few of the (UUGGGHHH), monogram AAR cuda. was fitting pieces from the AAR onto the 71, then gave up. with a little patience, I think you can come up with a fairly neat, reputable build. I would save a lot of money if I went that way instead of buying the new release. thanks Ben, I will check it out.
  23. Carlos, why you do this to me? I thought about it and I would like to keep it to only the new release of the 70 kit. I really don't like telling people "no" (except my kids), hope you understand.
  24. gonna be a nice build, John. will be even better when you detail it all. I have owned mopar since I was 17 (54 now) and never have I built a kit of one. I will be watching. where can I go to see more pictures of the 1:1?
  25. Marcos, this chart should answer any questions about mopar paint colors. http://maxwedge.com/articles/highimpact.php
