Hey guys, first off, let me say that I have not gotten my 70 cuda yet Since there was over 25+ pages in the "review" section, it seems like practically everyone is going to be building one. So I am throwing up a build-off. not so much as a competition, but just to put all the 70 cudas in one area. I have never seen a kit stir up so much enthusiasm as this kit since the introduction of the pro mod kits. As far as rules go, this is the first community build I have assembled and if anyone has suggestions, that is fine. I guess all you need is a 70 cuda kit, or as many as you want to enter, and you can build it any way you want. Start date is, let's say now, if an ending date is needed, lets say you have to be finished with them by July 4th 2014. I build like a chevy goes, very slow!!! so an ending date isn't good for me. I will be going out today and look again for a kit, but until then, jump in with those cuda builds...... the water's fine....... haha, get it, cudas live in water......... never mind. Looking forward to seeing these, since I am a mopar kind of guy. Hopefully, we will get quite a few builds and stay at the top of the community build list.

Revell 1970 Plymouth 'Cuda - Lime Light - Finished Pics
tubbs replied to RandyB.'s topic in WIP: Model Cars
nice start. great color. will be a sweet build, I haven't got my hands on one as of yet..... I will !! hey Roger, the offset is because most engines all sit off to one side because of the ring and pinion location. the offset hole keeps the shaker in the center of the hood for esthetics. -
nice clean build.

1968 Dodge Charger *engine weathering Dec 7*
tubbs replied to Cheap Sunglasses's topic in WIP: Model Cars
please send it to me and I will prime it and repaint it and make it look brand new......... i'm just jealous. one heck of a build so far, probably gonna look really crappy and worn when you get an interior and chassis under it. -
nice build. came out great, although I am not sure what "went together pretty quick" means. it take me months just to get the color picked out, very cool build!

chevy vans
tubbs replied to dieseldawg142's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
nice job on both of them. vans are really making a modeling comeback. used to cruise the hot spots in the late 70's in my buddys van. have to laugh, I had both those kits, got out od the van thing and got rid of them, now I want them back. especially the 4X4. does the other one have all the interior stuff in it too, I seem the remember that. -

Looking for Resin Holley 4160 Carburators
tubbs replied to Force's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Mat has some great products if he would ever get back to selling..... try here, about 4 or 5 pictures down, closest thing I have found. http://www.calnaga.com/Store.html have some of his stuff, great guy, timely delivery and he used white resin. -
count me in. I would be interested in a hood. looks great! I am just the messenger, but a I used to tool around in my buddy's AAR cuda back in the late 70's and his hood was perfectly aligned with the fenders. my other buddy's AAR was bowed about an inch (if memory serves me right). many a mopar nats later, we saw AAR's with and without this bowed hood syndrome. we came to the conclusion that they get bowed because they are fiberglass hoods bolted to hood hinges, even with a soft spring replacing the origional, after a while of pulling on the front of that hood bows it since they are only bolted in the rear of the hood. and why was my buddys straight? the original owner cracked his hood it the area you have described, bought another hood and had steel rods run up the inner support and glassed in to keep the hood straight. no joke, not saying this is the answer, just my experience. I will see if I can find pictures and scan them in.

thanks for the link and everything else. maybe I will just slap some numbers in the window and leave the alphabet soup off, or make it a street car? or put it back in the box and start yet another project!!

hehe, good woman there, my wife thinks of them as toys and wonders when the heck i'm gonna grow up...... anyways...... everyone is correct on their posts, they are toys, they are fun, but you still would like them to be accurate sometimes. now, on with the build!!

hey John, nice to see you here, great builds as usual. still love that background dio.

hey Bill, looks great! I totally understand your dilemma. I also am building a AWB car with all the modern amenities in it, was going to post up this week and ask the same thing as you, now I don't have to, just have to watch your build. here is a picture of something like what I am doing (btw, mine is a 55 chevy), as you can see, this car has an A/FX marking on the window, I think I will just mark it up as that and have fun with it. don't really know if I can run a 55 in an A/FX class or not? good luck with your build, I will be watching.
