thanks for all your information on these paints. looks like I will be keeping them and giving them a chance.

oh yea, long time football fan here. my Browns are..... well, that's another topic...... New Orleans has a lot of firepower, if the Eagles can stay on the ground and eat the clock with McCoy running the ball and some short passes, I think they can take it handily. even though the Eagles can also strike quickly, I think if it becomes a shootout, New Orleans will take it.

thanks. I am about 1 1/2 hours northeast of there. go there every year for their cruise. I see you were the smart one and moved away from the cold and snow.

how so true!!! prices on 1:1 resto nowadays are ridiculous!! just to get a half rotted hulk that's barely restorable will cost an arm and a leg. much easier on the wallet to do 1/25.

seriously.... some real whackos out there. I just want my wife to stop telling me not to run to the toy section at Wal-Mart or not to cry everytime we pass a hobby shop and don't go in. she needs to understand MY needs more. I am in full support of her Tupperware addiction.

WOW!! lucky man, my wife has no clue about "hi-impact colors", 440's or anything like that. there are some great colors out there from mother mopar. I have not gotten my 70 cuda yet, but that is the way I planned on doing it, pink with a 440+6. has anyone who has the 70 cuda test fitted a 440 in one yet? is there much monkeying around with lining up the shaker?
-
thanks for the comparison, this is really helpful. I am trading for a few of the duster chassis to do this conversion. I have an old resin 68 cuda conversion from DENCON (lookout) that I will be using, just don't know if I want to do it "as delivered" or a full racer?

looks like a nice place to work. that is very important to have things where you can find them and reach them easily. love the display box also. I just HAVE to get a light over my paint booth!!
-
hey John, sounds like a really neat build. being a life long mopar fanatic like yourself, I know of the car and you are right, it's beautiful. a good friend of mine had a 70 440+6 cuda, pink with black interior. it's really a love it or hate it type of color. keep us posted.

2014 Cannonball Run 1967 Chevrolet SS 396
tubbs replied to DriftingRookie's topic in WIP: Model Cars
nice, not too many chevelles being built. I will be keeping an eye on this one. -
I too like the color, too bad about the cracks.
-
great start. the more people get into these cudas, the more "little things" seem to be creeping into every build. still have to get mine.
-
... then I will send you my addy, could you please come over and sneeze on my wife!!

i just recieved a bunch of acryl testors bottle paints, what are the pros and cons of this paint. i have always used enamel paints and kept the 'ol baby jar of thinner on the bench. is it worth keeping it, can you use acrylic with enamel, or maybe just pass it on to another modeler that uses the acryl paint? just looking for advice, old habits die hard. thanks in advance.

hey Paul, welcome to the site. i live just a stones throw away in Mantua (streetsboro area)
-
great start Tony. using the chevelle chassis under it? i have a 62 pontiac p/s (or drag)that stalled on the bench. maybe this will get it started back up. i will be watching.

great job Dave. really clean build. nice to see one of these built instead of tore apart for kit bashing. (in my manliest of voices) what brand and color of nail polish did you use?

'68 Charger No.2 (A.K.A "bout time I bloody finish a model")
tubbs replied to Shelby 427 1965's topic in WIP: Model Cars
nice choice, love the chargers too, good start so far..... 1 thing, black sabbath as your avatar and your playing the police? i guess the 440 gets the milder music. good choice either way. the police are very good musicians, but sabbath just ROCKS!! -
i also made a deal with outkast1027 (jeremy newman). sent me more than i barganed for, thanks.... feel free to trade anytime with him.

i will back that up about Shane Harrold (slammedi'am). pulled off a no problem trade, little slow on my end, but he will not say anything. will trade again, no doubt.
