  1. then was the stripe on top of the car ford blue also?
  2. this has been discussed for a long time. attending many a mopar nats we have determined that the 69 car was a 383 car with a 440 swapped in. don't know if the rules allowed that. there is no evidence of the "skid plate" on the k member that all hemi cars came with to protect the deeper pan. they did not run motor plates and the hemi k member and the 440 k member are have different motor mounts. you can swap a 440 on a 383 k member, but only the hemi will fit a hemi k member.if you can find a rear shot, all hemi cars had a small hemi emblem on the drivers side trunk, unfortunately, I have never seen a rear shot of this car for what it's worth.....hope this helps, along with everyone else. when I get to it, I will be doing mine with a 440. .
  3. exactly. people know what is collectable. nowadays, the manufacture will put right on the package "limited edition" or "collectors choice", something like that, people are out hoarding it right now and jacking up prices if they think its going to be a collector piece. not like kits that were put out there and became "rare" because of people like my mom cleaned out our rooms, throwing everything out, 68 super bee's, 70 goats, 64 chevelles, johan kits..... I mean, my old magazines, hot wheels, G.I. Joes... C'MON MOM, STAY OUT OF MY ROOM !!.. er, sorry anything collectable nowadays, without putting a sports figure in the mix (LeBron James for example) is collectable and expensive right now. just my 2 cents.
  4. thanks Guy, beautiful. gotta tough with those "jolly good" rattle cans. beautiful. I love that, "jolly good". I know about the warming of the paint, just too lazy to run upstairs and warm it up, and it shows on my paint jobs.
  5. ok, with the utmost respect to you sir, could you please SHUT UP!!! joking, its not too bad out, low 20's with a 10+ wind. stopped snowing, but the wind is blowing and drifting the snow. If by any chance I ever get to a warm weather state to live permanently, I would miss the warm fires at night. I am about 10 miles from Twinsburg.
  6. yes, I am in Mantua, that's close to Streetsboro. I belong to the model club, but do not make many meetings.
  7. HAHA!! 8"+ on the ground now and more to come. I tried to get my family to move to Az.... i'm right once in a while. btw - very funny

nice build Brett, monster torque, monster HP from an unlikely source... a buick! very good looking build. stepping out of your race car comfort zone a little with this one...
  13. my wife was watching some sort of kitten bowl.... pretty funny.
  14. I don't know Mike, that offense won 13 games...... just not the right one. I cant figure out if Denver looked that bad or Seattle looked that good? congrats Seahawks..... now, let's go TRIBE!!
  15. nice. going to look great! I think that came from a cougar kit, not sure of the year, but that is my guess.
  16. sorry for the slow reply, yes, i was there i had a table selling some kits, die cast and a bunch of magazines. i got yelled at by my 12 year old that i was selling too cheap. i let most kits go for $10 and the magazines i sold at rock bottom prices. could have made double on the magazines if i wasn't so nice. steve, do you have a web page that you sell your wheels at? hope your over your cold, but i probably got your table.
  17. hey joe, check your PM's
  18. i like them all. does Z-man have a web site?
  19. well, for one, this post will send us back up to the top, and 2; I fell into the old project trap ... twice. someone was looking for some engine parts, so I got my box of "bagged motors" out and what to my surprise, a blown big block chevy motor I had forgotten about. "man, this would look GREAT in that 66 pro street nova I was doing." so, I set it aside, started digging some more for the stuff I was suppose to be looking for and lo and behold, I find another chevy big block. "well, this would look AWESOME in that other 66 nova I was planning on making a sleeper out of......" i started the new year out with; 1 - 55 chevy drag car 2 - 62 Pontiac pro street on my bench, then sometime, don't know how but these got added........ 1 - 60 starliner pro street 4 - 32 ford pro street 5 - 70 super bee 6 - 70 coronet 500 pro street.... ...to the bench, and now I have added 2 66 nova's. hmmmm, i have got it bad!!! my goal is to have at least 4 of these done by the end of February.... wish me luck!!
  20. hey Keven, isn't there a show on Feb 9th at the Summit County Fairgrounds?
  21. excellent yet again. beautiful.
  22. the best you can do is roll with the punches and never give up. I will add you and your family to my prayers.
  23. your right, but I would like to try that sometime, the more money than brains thing. I think it would be wonderful to drop $17,000 on a kit and not bat an eye or dent your wallet. now, if that money was for his/her mortgage, then we have a problem.
  24. I am sooo much this guy who lives in the past.... but I cannot argue with what LDO has to say. they are changing with the times. I think they have a good mix, even though rat rods are just dumb (sorry if I offended anyone), seeing old pro stocks and funny cars doesn't do it when I have the original issues of the car in SSDI. it keep me up on things, even though it's not my favorite (LONG LIVE PRO STREET!!), anyways, very good points LDO..... and someone should pick up a HOT ROD from the 70's or 80".... so many ads it pushed the magazine to over 100 pages sometimes.....the first article started at page 40 for God sakes.
  25. well, the temp here rose 20* in 2 hours......... its now 10*........
