  1. I've said this before, and I will say it again: At the 1999 RCHTA show at the Rosemont IL Convention Center, AMT/Ertl showed box art for these same two subjects. Those were, according to Tom Walsh--then head of product development for AMT/Ertl, last minute proposals to the hobby industry. Walsh told me straight up at that show that it did not look promising for either subject, as Walmart and the other "big box" retailers (who pretty much controlled what new model car kit subjects would see the light of day back then) had rejected them for their 2000 store "resets", and it was hoped that local hobby shop owners and hobby wholesalers would bite on them. They did not, at least not in numbers sufficient to warrant their development into plastic kits, so the idea died on the vine so-to-speak, at that time. That's the delay I was referring to. I knew I remembered this being announced once before, but not 12 years ago! G
  2. Oh yeah, I like that! G
  3. You're welcome! I hope I explained it well enough. I'm old, cranky, and not as computer literate as I need to be. G
  4. Here ya go Brendan, Take the IMG code, copy it, and then paste it on the page with your text. We are usually confined to 5 pics per post so just post 5, hit reply and post 5 more. The car is looking sweet! G
  5. Things here started going ahem, haywire, right after I found out I couldn't make the DSC. Then we find out my Father in Law needed surgery. So, all my sisters in law are in town, and at my house, as is my mother in law. I packed EVERYTHING up and am taking a break for at least four more days. No sense taking a mostly finished kit and smashing it against the floor in frustration. G
  6. While I believe the new Dart looks killer in that pic, those body lines aren't new. That whole front clip has been done to death by various Japanese car makers in the last five years. In this view the rear quarters remind me of a Neon, maybe even a Pontiac G4. Those are doors by Chevrolet for sure. Rear view mirrors by Ford. Compared to the old Dart, no comparison at all. Nothing wrong with modern but the styling. Safety, reliability, performance and handling are all lightyears ahead of the good old days. G
  7. Ditto the 500R Jonathan don't wuss out, what happened? G
  8. The cats are superb! Right after the shipyard, I got sent on another all expense paid vacation, this time east to the Mediterranean and areas there in. We watched as the Wisconsin fired it's big guns onto positions outside Beirut. OMG was that a sight, even from 10 miles away. G
  9. I'll be following along intently. Here's a little inspiration for you. I took these in late '75 or early '76. Mighty Mo was mothballed then in the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. I was assigned there as a gate guard after returning to the world. G
  10. And one more, located on Las Vegas Blvd just north of Lake Mead is the sign that reads "Welcome to Fabulous North Las Vegas" Well done Allen. G
  11. A trivia queston here folks. Anyone know how many of those signs exist in Las Vegas? I'm talking about the real deal, no stuff "Welcome" signs. Any guesses? G
  12. Even with all the hectic events at home and work, I managed to have some success. G
  13. CHiPS was the absolute worst for "flying autos". Fender benders, fatalities, you name it, the cars always flew over each other. G
  14. The nut that holds the keyboard is loose. Easy fix. G
  15. I never said you were. Just stating fact. G
  16. That's exactly what I was thinking. I'm currently testing everything on my bench, for um "inspiration" . This is way cool, I love it. G
  17. Uh Oh, hold your breath..................................... G
  18. @Danny - they disable the ALB system for the special effects. Smoking skids are way more dramatic than a controlled stop. Same way the E Brake has it's ratchet removed. Stunt drivers use that E brake to lock up the rear end for slides, and what not. @Justin - Sorry dude, the "I have a degree" thing is just lame. True the all the CSI shows are more Hollywood (fiction) than fact, but the explosives comment won't wash. I spent two years at the Yuma Proving Ground, attended the FBI's "bomb school" in Huntsville Alabama, and worked in the PD's Bomb and Arson section until I screwed up and got promoted. Let me in your house, and I will level it, with what's inside. G
  19. Whew, Lighten up Francis................... G
  20. Now THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! Showgurlz baby! G
  21. MrsG is taking my stuff, and I'll be "on call" that day. This means I'll have to handle something on the other side of the valley for sure. G
  22. There are no ocean liners in Bluejacket's kit index. G
  23. That was a Group Build, everyone bought the Shelby Cobra, then let the imagination fly! G
