  1. Or when the chain driving the rotators froze? No spinny spinny flashy thingies either then. Real dangerous. G
  2. Soon Dale, very soon....................................... Danno, Daniel, remember calling a pursuit and having to shout because you couldn't hear yourself? And then everyone else thinks you were too excited, until THEY had a pursuit? And had to shout too?
  3. Whooooaaaaaa, now wait a minute here. You guys actually finish one of these things? G
  4. Just before I started, we had those Godawful huge Grand Marquis traffic cars packing a 460. Trouble was they had those Godawful huge scissor lift lightbars on the roof. Remember those? Had the directional arrows and such, big old honking incandescent bulbs that could light Busch Stadium during a home game. Those must have weighed 150 pounds easy. The Plymouth had a twin gumball rack with a bazillion watt siren in between. It's no wonder all the coppers from that era are deaf. G
  5. Happy Fourth everyone! I am in the office keeping Sin City safe for all youse guys! G
  6. Daniel, my first car was a '78 Plymouth inherited from the Traffic Division. It had a Motorola radio, Federal Signal siren box, and a toggle switch on the dash for the roof lights. Oh, and a Remington 870. Times have changed have they not? That's the CHP's answer to budget cuts. Windshield delete option, gee just like Nevada....................................... G
  7. Ok took these before the camera died. Here's where I sit tonight. The last parts will be the windshield and antennae. I scratched/modded the awful kit spotlights into something I think looks more realistic. Come on CHP slicktop, there's GOT to be a red spotlight on the driver's side. Besides that is SOP on a slicktop. G
  8. Thank goodness for my brother from another mother who has my back. This should be finished soon. G
  9. Nice! Take a pic with a quarter so folks will understand the scale here. G
  10. I will again state what MrsG said shortly before our wedding. " Order what you want honey, I'd rather have you sitting at the breakfast bar building a model, than sitting in a bar hitting on one." It's all good Bro. G
  11. Nearly finished and I cracked the windshield! G
  12. Looks like the concensus is wax that sucker! Andy is that Meguiar's polishing compound the mysterious #7 I keep hearing about? I have heard wax will screw with decal adhesion, I seriously doubt that, any thoughts gentlemen? G
  13. I have never, ever, in almost 50 years of building, gave a final wax to a paint job. I'm real close to finishing my CHP Dodge, which will require decals, and am wondering if I should wax the thing. I used Valspar laquer black/white/clear, polished it out, but think I need something else. Wax or any other suggestions ? G
  14. Police vehicles from any era, classic hot rods, 50's and 60's customs. Tanks, planes, ships, and figures as well. G
  15. You got that right Siim! G
  16. As do I Chris, as do I. The latest count reveals six more in the stash, 2 M4A3's, 1 M4 composite, 1 POA CWS H5 flame tank, 1 M4 105 howitzer with dozer blade and 1 M32B2 recovery vehicle. I'm set for a while. G
  17. Your "Haboobs" scare the stink out of me. I experienced one when I lived in Yuma. CHP cars out of Indio were sand blasted to bare metal. G
  18. Bacon, donuts and scorched brakes. It is after all a Hemi. I scratched the siren speaker to look like what CHP uses. G
  19. Oh Danno I feel your pain. Her house is two miles west of I 25, and as such not threatened, yet. Her hubby, the Lt Col., got sent out of the country and is losing his mind right now. She's packed and ready to skip on a moments notice. No work for her today due to smoke and debris. If she bolts, she will probably head to St Louis to be with her mom and dad. I want her to head here and stay until hubby gets back. She'll need the diversion for sure. G
  20. Wil I retired just as the first of the Hemi Chargers came on board. Missed it by that much................ G
  21. My neice took this shot today. This was a day ago taken from Chapel Hills Mall. G
  22. Actually Al with this "new breed" of copper I'm thinking bagels. I brought this back, as work has continued on the CHP car. I'll post pics later. G
  23. Ken, that's an M60A1 Patton as used by the Marine Corps. These were used for the last time in Gulf war 1. The marched on in the reserves for another 5 years or so. G
