  1. Got it! Thanks G
  2. Funniest thing I ever witnessed stateside was at LeJeune and involved two MP's in a Dodge like this. I was walking from the BOQ to breakfast when I happened upon a crowd standing outside the chow hall. Seems large Mr Alligator decided to sun himself on the empty lot that morning. Well up rolls the MP's, they exit the car and realize what is lying right there. One jumps back in the car, and the other climbs on the hood. As I watch, the civilian janitor exits the chow hall, with broom in hand, and shoo's the gator away. I still chuckle over that one. G
  3. Marine MP's at Camp LeJeune drove them in the 70's. They were as bare bones a car that was ever made. This is a real nice build, and reminds me of those days. G
  4. Thank You Sir! G
  5. Lunch at Danno's................................ G
  6. I picked up the repop of the MPC Roadrunner for the steel wheels and dog dish hub caps. I really need those for several cop car projects. My question, what's the best way to assemble the wheels, tires, and hub caps so I can cast them as one? White glue? I want to be able to un assemble them after wards. Will using clay help in making a two piece mold? Any help is appreciated. I have made one piece molds successfully but not two piece. G
  7. I am a grilling fool. I can also work in a kitchen with the best of the home chefs. MrsG on the other hand, has elevated cooking to an art form. I therefore remain on the couch unless the entree requires fire.................... G
  8. Back in the day my police department drove short wheel base 3500 series Chevy vans for prisoner transport vehicles. I have had the '77 Chevrolet van kit lying around for a decade or more now. Those now stupid looking fender flares always kept me from building it as a police "cruiser". Well I got off my butt and here's where we sit as of today. That's Duplicolor GM Light Metallic Blue with MM Clear gloss enamel. G
  9. Upon leaving the office, and driving home, I began to think of ways to drive Danno nutts. I have a GL kit in the stash courtesy of my grandchildren. Something tells me I MUST build it. G
  10. You all scare me, really you do. G
  11. God Bless you and your family my friend. It is never easy, yet you must stay the course. G
  12. How about the guy with the correct answer asks the next question? So forth and so on, that will make this one carry on for a while. G
  13. Living 30 minutes from the dam, I've come to appreciate just what it took to build the beast. Excellent job on an iconic truck. G
  14. They have no clue detective............................... G
  15. And barbed wire, lots and lots of barbed wire. Of course, you could move here to Henderson, and put up with me. G
  16. Thank you all! Stay tuned in vans and trucks for the next installment of St Louis Police history. G
  17. Oh that car had a computer, it was located between my ears! I had a badge, gun, nightstick, pen and my own brain. Plus my partner's skills as well. Lots of police work got done in 8 hours, and we didn't need no stinkin' computers. G
  18. Harry, don't debate any longer, leave. Your health will improve. My arthritis has abated to nearly nothing, and I can function as a LEO again out here. Too many injuries combined with that mid western weather made me a functioning cripple. It wasn't safe any more on the front line. I settled here in Las Vegas because of the wife I had at the time. She went psycho, but I stayed and I'm darn glad I did. Now I have a wife I actually like and all is well. 110 isn't bad with 5% humidity, one thing though, I drive an all black car. I bought it in St Louis before the decision to move was made. Next one will not have black leather interior for sure. I looked at peoperty around Roswell NM. That's the only county in NM that isn't sorely depressed economy wise. August is thunderstorm month, and there is a significant amount of humidity. Coming from the desert it was noticible, coming from Chicagoland, you wouldn't feel it a bit. G
  19. This is the Modelhaus 1985 Impala, I started this in 2006 and packed it away when I moved in 2007. I used the Revell Impala SS for the underpinnings and replicated a ride from long ago. I used Duplicolor and Krylon for the colors. I cast my own radio and siren from masters made from another kit, and scratched the shotgun rack and microphone. Door decals were custom made by a guy whose name I cannot remember. I did the district and car numbers myself. Interior minus the body. Build pics in "On the Borkbench" G
  20. A bit more on the interior. Done!
  21. This was my first car. 1962 Pontiac Catalina, 421 SD. The car was white as built, but had long since been painted green. I tried to replicate the chrome reverse wheels and baby moons I put on that beast. I also had a small steering wheel which looked cool, but the car had manual steering. It was a workout on wheels. G
  22. Jonathan, the dog dishes also came from the Modelhaus. I think! I started this so many years ago I cannot remember it all. I got the wheels and tires from policecarmodels.com, took out the later hub centers, and put the dog dishes on them. G
