  1. For over 34 years now I've been an active law enforcement officer. I have retired once, vowed to stay out of police work, but went right back. I was just informed I made the list as an investigator for the Clark County Coroner's Office. I spent some time in Homicide back in the mid 90's so the way I see it, the jobs a breeze. No one talks back or complains. G
  2. I'm lucky, I got a place just down the road that offers all the good stuff. Dogs and fries, tamales, beef you name it. I took MrsG and her mother as a test. Ma said she felt like she was home. Good enough. G
  3. Very sweet! Love all the details you added. G
  4. I had the house to myself all morning so some painting got done. The final mockup shots. My favorite Panzer Gray enamel, Floquil's SP Lark Dark Gray. It's a shame Floquil is out of business now. I added the spare wheel holder to the right rear fender just befoewe painting. I raided my spares for the fitting and used the same right angle strip for the fender mounts. Stowage box. Fuel and water cans. This will now sit for a while and the Pz IIIL will be up for weathering. G
  5. OMGDBAA? Translated as Oh My Goodness Danno Builds An Airplane? Right On! Truth be told, as a young 'un, Danno flew with Orville................... G
  6. That Snaptite M1 is actually a great beginner kit. It has HUGE sprue attachment points, and all the typical downfalls of a snapper, but..........it build fast and looks good when done. All the things you look for when bringing a young person into the hobby. G
  7. When you run a restaurant in a city known for it's entertainment and fine dining, you better get off your rear end and produce. What irked me? Personnel transfers came out. All three of my squad mates were moved. I alone stayed on the day shift. I've been with these guys for a few years now, and learned their behavior patterns inside and out. When you work the streets that means a lot. I inherited a good bunch, but man I really hate starting completely over. G
  8. David it's good to see you here! That robot brings back some old memories. Joe I'm not necessariy a Stuka fan, but that African bird with the snake is a fave. Ok here's what I got completed during the week. Antenna troughs scratchbuilt from strip stock. There are two on this tank. Here is the scratchbuilt jackblock I made last night. The base kit dates from the early 90s and lacks detail in some areas. The jackblock was definately one so........ I used a bit of small angle to replicate the L shaped block locator guides. I'll make the strap from tape, the buckle from wire. This is the grandson's project from last night. If the wind ever goes below 30mph this morning we have a can of tan spray paint waiting patiently. G
  9. looking good everyone! Love that dark green Camaro. I'm waiting for the "glamour" shots of the Dora. Got some things done on both builds. I had the grandkids stay the night so we worked on their projects not mine. More to come. GF
  10. Well said my friend. My brother's pension makes his motorcycle payment every month. I now have numbness in my left hand and arm, the scars always been there on my left chest. The left ankle gets stiff and I can predict the weather with my left knee. I can say with certainty the experiences I had led me to the police department. We had our own brand of group therapy, because we all had been through it. When I got a bit "out of hand" with the idiot oil a few decades ago I was the receipient of a little "tough love" reinforced by positive peer pressure from my co workers and fellow vets. They were so persuasive I quit drinking for twenty years. Even now I temper my intake just thinking of that. All we had then were each other. All we want now is that no other group be treated as we were. I believe we have been successful and that makes it all worth it. Go back? Do it again? Well we jarheads are fond of saying we never left the Corps, we're just at a different point in our career. The Commandant says so too. G
  11. Welcome Home brothers. I was met at the airport by my family and about 75 Hare Krishnas. Dad was Army in WWII, big brother was at Khe Sahn. Both were there with my mom and my sister. That's all I needed. RIP fireball G
  12. Skip I worked for NA Rockwell at the Sabreliner division way back when. I was in the parts room and could watch them paint about two refurbs a week. That was fascinating, then I watched the Jumbo jet video. Wow. G
  13. Well there were various reasons for the three previous wives. I'm seriously happy with the current MrsG and I fully believe everything else led me to her. Now if I could just find a car that I like as much as my Lincoln......... G
  14. Really nice. It just looks right. G

  16. My problem was I married them, THEN found out they "didn't get it". I guess thats why I'm on #4. Thing is she "gets it" in a big way. My Town Car turned over 104,000 yesterday. So far so good. I keep looking for a replacement but nothing stacks up IMHO. G
  17. Flippin' awesome! G
  18. Oh Bob that is too cool. I might just have to try me one of those. Ok boys here she is, photographed as the decals were drying. Panzer Regiment 7, Tunisia 1943. PzRgt 7 was the last of the reinforcements to arrive and fought to the bitter end. They came from Italy with all new equipment so this tank will have a "used but not abused" look. Here's what I got from Tank Workshop. I planned on scratchbuilding this box until I found it online for $6.50. The boxes were a common sight on command tanks in Africa so I sent the money as fast as I could. All I did was scratch the mounts. G
  19. My daughter called from St Louis. It's snowing there this evening. G
  20. Looking good Ben. I saw that kit at Hobby Lobby the other day and thought of you. I want to see how it good of a kit it is. MY DECALS ARRIVED TODAY! Hot diggity darn I can get the Pz III L marked and begin the weathering. The Panzerbefehlswagen got it's fenders mounted today. I also got the Tank Workshop resin bits I was waiting on for this as well. Been a busy day so I'll update tomorrow. G
  21. Those Gundams are really cool but I know little if anything about the story. I'm learning though! G
  22. X2, that's a sweet looking build there. I am waiting to see that on a base. The weathering looks good from here. Danny it's good to see you here. I really like Gundam but don't know squat about the story lines. I want to build those "early war" land vehicles like the two barrelled tank and such. I just have to find them. RK that big blue beastie is quite a piece ain't it? BTW what "scale" are these Gundams? I'm assuming 1/144th? G
  23. Oh that is nice! Great job on the finish on that yellow paint. G
