  1. Looks great Art. Can't wait for more. A tip if I may? When working with oils use a piece of cardboard as a pallet. A piece of the kits box lid is superb for this. Put the oil paint on the unprinted side and the cardboard absorbs the linseed oil. The finished, or printed side keeps the linseed oil from soaking all the way through and making a mess beneath. Armor modellers do this all the time to speed up drying. How's this kit look? G
  2. Looking great! I stayed home sick yesterday and started the Panzer III E command tank. Nothing much to show yet, just wheels and the lower hull. It'll be a couple more weeks for my decals to arrive so I am patiently waiting to start the weathering on the PzIIIL. G
  3. I like where this is going. Lotsa shootins in the city of brotherly love........................... G
  4. 71 here today............................. G
  5. Missed this yesterday and had to wait to get home today to see it. Marvelous sir, simply marvelous. I whole heartedly agree with Ace GG, good job. G.
  6. Same here. My "mancave" as it were, is my third car garage. Way too hot most months to be in while building or painting. So inside with acrylics I am. G
  7. I saw one do a u turn from the outside lane of a double left. I was far enough back, but the guy in front of me darn near t boned the idiot. I used some choice Hebrew phrases on that one. Had a soccer mom park in a no parking zone across from the park to drop the kiddies off last week. Thank goodness we were all at the speed limit 'cause the munchkins naturally didn't think and bolted into traffic. I again used some choice Hebrew on the soccer mom, I even added some Vietnamese and Tag. I can curse fluently in seven different languages, ask Danno or Jonathan. G
  8. Fort Lost in the Woods eh? I spent a week there one day. G
  9. You better believe Mary makes sure of that Danno Truth is the division supervisor, a rank akin to Captain, is newly promoted. He likes to write checks we have to cash if you know what I mean. Then he takes the credit, go figure. Well I'm the guy who won't tolerate that BS and called him on it. It's interesting that he didn't boot me. My partner Louie says the guy is afraid of me, that's a good thing, he should be..................... G
  10. Ditto the above. That Buick is way too nice to let rot. G
  11. The corner office posted the transfer list effective 3/24. I am the only guy staying right where I'm at. I get a whole new crew to work with. Not a bad thing really, but you learn each others mannerisms through time and develop great working relationships. Now I get to start over. Poop. G
  12. Most of my builds are police vehicles, so all black, all white, or some combo thereof. G
  13. We had a lot of secondary employment opportunities at baseball card shows. Any show, at any venue in the greater St. Louis area hired at least five off duty coppers. Two for the lot and a minimum of three inside. When you consider the value of the cards themselves, one theft of one card was a $150,000 loss, it makes sense to protect the show. G
  14. Windy and 60 degrees here at 0830. Saw a cloud yesterday.............. G
  15. Now we're talking. G
  16. Watching with interest. G
  17. Now we're cooking! Those late war colors are striking. Everytime I paint a tedious pattern I vow to return to enamels. Everytime. G
  18. DAS air drying modelling clay. It's just as light as Celluclay and in my mind easier to work with. It won't shrink or warp, the upturned edge is my fault. It is very absorbent so I like to use acrylic paint. It helps with the color modulation. G
  19. Lasci la pistola, porti le canoli. Leave the gun, take the canoli. Peter Clemenza The Godfather G
  20. That's a $.99 pine base from Hobby Lobby I stained and laquered. I used DAS modelling clay for the ground and added a sprinkle of fine sand. The rocks are Hydrocal from a Woodland Scenics mold. The whole thing was airbrushed with several shades of Tamiya Buff, then I went back in and did the rocks with a brush. The scrub brush is another Woodland Scenics model railroad product. G
